i really enjoyed reading this book, the world was built well and the characters felt like real people. I'd be interested in seeing where this series is going.

The best part of the book is definitely the characters while I found that the overall plot was rather predictable. It isn't terribly written, I just wished it was a little more interesting plotwise.

Thirteen year old Alyssa thought her magic abilities were no longer. Much to her chagrin she finds she has magic abilities again. There is one problem, she can’t control her magic abilities or know when they are going to activate. She had enchanted objects that protected her. When she finds them gone, she can’t figure out who would take them. A note mysteriously appears in her bedroom saying “Errol was here.” Who is Errol? Why are her magic abilities back? Does she have the courage and confidence to solve her problems?

The novel is an action filled story about magic friendship. It shows the value of communication with your parents and friends. The importance of loyalty is what keeps Alyssa from giving up when she is at her lowest point in her life. This is the second book. I didn’t read the first book but this novel reads well as a stand alone novel. I enjoyed Alyssa and her friends trying to help each other.
