Amanda Kittredge is twenty-two, only trouble is, as the youngest child with several older brothers (I can't remember if its three or four) everyone still thinks of her as that little Kittredge girl. She's had exactly three dates and when she decided to go to the local bar she was accompanied by her brothers and driven home after precisely one and a half drinks. When one of her brothers directs her to the children's table at a family gathering, in all seriousness, she knows something has to change.

So she moves into an apartment above the local dive bar, gets a part-time evening job as a barmaid in said dive bar and waits for the fit to hit the shan (as the saying goes). Her next act of rebellion is to ask her brother Riley's best friend Brady to show her what she's been missing all these years, because yes Amanda is also a virgin.

I was enjoying this, okay it's a well trodden romance path, particularly in cowboy romances, but it was enjoyable nonetheless, and then the end just dragged. First Brady and Amanda had to have a big scene, then her brothers gor involved, then his brothers got involved, and somewhere I just lost interest, especially when Brady decided he was going to do things his way - without telling Amanda! That's a big red flag for me.

Anyway, that aside, I can't believe Caitlin Crews is also Megan Crane, I really loved her Edge series and I can't believe I missed the first two books in this series.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

LOVED this book! I loved the characters and the way they came to life on each page. The author made me feel like I was a part of their world instead of just reading about it. I fell in love with Brady and Amanda and felt invested in their story.

While this story was the last of the the Everett boys, I hope its not the last book set it Cold River. This one is a must read - the author is a master at her craft and made me feel every emotion in the characters' story. She is on my must read authors' list.

THE LAST REAL COWBOY by Caitlin Crews was my favorite! I've read all three books about the Everett brothers. They were all special but, I was totally wrapped up in this one. You could feel the love Amanda had for Brady. The thing I really loved was seeing the change in the family. Turning a sad unhappy house into a warm family home. Now, about Amanda's single brothers......

I downloaded The Last Real Cowboy and planned to read the first couple of chapters to get an idea of the book before doing my daily chores. I have not read any books by Caitlin Crews prior to the, so it seemed like a feasible plan. Those chores never got done that day!

Amanda has decided that it is past time to get away from her four overprotective brothers, so she moves into an apartment over the sleaziest bar in town where she also bartends part time. She has had a crush on Brady Everett for years, but he has not really seen Amanda as a person. When Brady encounters Amanda at the bar and actually looks at her, he is appalled by the strong attraction he feels.

Brady has a lot of baggage that gets in the way of a relationship. Amanda has baggage as well - her overprotective brothers. Against the odds, Brady and Amanda build a relationship and although there are many obstacles, Brady finds the biggest one to be himself.

I really enjoyed The Last Real Cowboy. Ms. Crews has created characters that have depth and a plot which displays them to the best advantage. The Last Real Cowboy is well written and I will be looking for more books by Caitlin Crews.

The Last Real Cowboy is an outstanding western romance by Caitlin Crews. Ms. Crews has produced a book that is well-written and furnished it with fantastic characters. Brady is the third of the Everett brothers and has agreed to stay on the ranch for a year to help out after his father's death. Amanda is a Kittredge with four big burly brothers that have kept her dateless. Amanda and Brady's story is packed with drama, humor, Kindle melting heat and is a fun read. The Last Real Cowboy is book 3 of the Cold River Ranch Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was the first book by Caitlyn Crews that I’ve read. I was surprised that I liked it as well as I did. It might have helped to have read the previous books about the two other brothers but I got the jist of the backstory of both the Everett and Kittredge families. I really liked Amanda who was strong and forthright. I admire women who don’t play games and put everything right out there. My only complaint was that Brady was so focused on comparing himself to his father and not speaking up more to his brothers. I love when I find an author that I enjoy and have some new books to discover.
