You Let Me In
By Camilla Bruce

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan-Tor/Forge for the ARC of this story.

This was not a story that I typically would read but I enjoyed it just the same.
Cassandra Tipp has a story to tell but is it fact or fiction? That is what everyone wants to know.
Delve into a world where you don’t know if it’s real or imaginary.

Again thank you for the arc of this story.

Fabulous plot which I could not put down. Brilliant characters, and twists and turns. Highly recommend to other fans of this genre!!

This was my first book by Camilla Bruce. The way this author uses her words really got my imagination working with the story itself. I'm not sure I went in expecting much, so that always helps when a book surprises you.

What did I just read? I was interested in this book by the description but the story is just way too confusing!
This one just didn’t do it for me. I didn’t feel like I got to know any of the characters. No relationship is developed between any characters and I really just lost interest and didn't care much about this by the end.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for my honest review.

At first glance at the cover, I expected this to be a bog standard psychological thriller, how wrong I was! A strange, compelling tale of a little girl Cassandra and her disturbing relationship with a mysterious entity she calls Pepper Man. As Cassandra grows up we begin to wonder if Pepper Man is the vampiric faerie she would have us believe or is he perhaps someone monstrous closer to home? Cleverly written, little clues are scattered that begin to make sense as the story continues and the fact that the reader has no idea when or where this is set, adds an even more fairytale-like quality. I enjoyed how different this was and look forward to more from Camilla Bruce. Many thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC.

This novel is going to be hard to describe in words that will truly convey the magic, the emotion, and the mystery shrouded within.
I was completely enraptured by this novel and willingly turned every page. It is haunting yet magical. The story is written as a letter to Cassandra Tipps niece and nephew. It is part of the to do list they must complete before they are allowed to inherit all of their Aunts great fortune.
Cassandra is the eccentric albeit black sheep of the family who had success as a romance novelist later in life. The reader is whisked away into the terrible world of faeries that has surrounded Cassandra since she was a young girl. These are not your run of the mill storybook fairies but dark, dangerous and not dead beings that leech life. Pepper-Man has been with Cassandra as far back as she can remember. He starts off as a play friend of sorts but evolves into lover/husband/murderer???
It is difficult to decipher this novel, on one hand is Cassandra living in this supernatural world because it's real? Or is this the product of severe trauma and mental illness in a life that has forced her to create this dark fantasy for herself?
I, as well as many others i'm sure, will be left with so many questions at the end of this book. I felt heavy emotions with this book, it wasn't uplifting in a magical sort of way, it was shrouded in tragedy and darkness. This book definitely won't be for everyone but I am so glad that I was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review, Thank you to the Publisher, and Netgalley, please give this novel a chance you will not be disappointed.

Though I'm not a horror fan, I enjoyed this well written tgriller with an intriguing storyline. It was very creepy with the presence of creatures like faeries. Thanks to Netgalley and Tor Books for providing me with an ARC of this book.

This was a bit of a bait and switch. I expected a thriller, because of the advertisements, and I got a supernatural story with fairies. The story started off fine, but then...Pepperman. Nope. ACR provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

From the very beginning of the book, you're given a mystery to solve that leaves you questioning every thing you read. It's very imaginative and visual and very engaging. I was sucked in from page 1 and enjoyed every bit of it.

Honestly, this book was a bit of a mess. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, and I ended up only reading about 20% of it before I gave up.

I was honestly pretty bored. I started reading this months ago and just never really had the motivation to pick it back up. I expected it to be more thrilling but it just wasn’t my cup of tea

‘#You Let Me In by Camilla Bruce will keep you awake, and at the end want more. This is her debut novel from #Macmillan-Tor who has a great eye for authors. The main character is a notorious recluse and eccentric bestselling novelist.
Cassandra Tipp has left behind no body-just her massive fortune and one final manuscript. She will tell you a story but it will come with a terrible price. What really happened, out there in the woods-and who has Cassie been protecting all along? Read on, if you dare...
Thank you,
#Netgalley,#Camilla Bruce and #Macmillan-Tor/Forge

Not really sure how to review this one. It was classified as mystery/thriller and also sci fi/fantasy but I guess I was expecting something different. The story is both imaginative and creepy and will keep you wondering what really happened to Cassandra. The faerie world is not something that generally draws my attention as a choice for reading material but this was a dark world and totally unexpected. Kudo's to Bruce for keeping my attention with the many twists and turns and depicting a strange, sinister world of faeries.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opprotunity to review this book..

This was a very weird book. Im not a big fan of fantasy books but decided to give this a try. It was hard for me to finish reading but I ended up having to figure what happened in the end. This was defiantly not my cup of tea but if you love fantasy books I'm sure you would like this one.

This was a disturbing read that ultimately asks the question - is magic real and do fairies exist or is it all mental gymnastics our minds create to keep the darker sides of life at bay? I didn't love this book as it was twisted and dark, exposing the truly awful bits of humanity, but it did force me to think about what is real and what is not, and I can still vividly recall passages months later. The writing is lush and the imagery twisty, twiney like the fairies themselves. I adored the world Camilla Bruce created but man, this was one shocking read.

Creepy and wonderful! I haven't read anything like this in awhile. Deep, dark and unsettling. After reading it took awhile for me to process it all. You're left with not all the answers.

If I write much more I feel I'll give things away. If you like dark, twisty books - you'll enjoy it
