A Murderous Tangle is like a group of friends who can’t stay out of the tea. Cosy mysteries are great for short, fun, light reads … even though somebody has to die. Characters & friendships grow as the mysteries continue … a whole little community to visit.

Wow! I'm not one to read books out of order, but neither am I one to turn down a free read...especially a cozy mystery. And I'm so glad for that, because this book was absolutely amazing! This is a tale with well-created characters (although a lot of them- I had trouble sometimes keeping track of them!), told through various points of view, and a murderer that wasn't even on my list of suspects. All of these variables are knit together (sorry, couldn't resist!) in a wonderful book that kept me enthralled up to the very end.
I'm actually kind of happy that there are many prior books in this series, as it allows me to go back and start from the beginning to learn more about these engaging characters.

Hi, I lost the eARC of this book so I won't be able to review this book. I hope you understand. I really wanted to read it but unfortunately my phone got formatted and I lost the copy.

This was my first Seaside Knitters novel. I was able to catch on relatively quickly to who was who and I enjoyed the multi-generational aspect of the group of ladies. The story drew me in right away and I was almost sure the murder was going to be within the first two chapters, instead, there was some excellent foreshadowing and a very nice eco-friendly message that wasn't too soapbox. There is something warm and cozy about a group of knitters who stick together, support each other, and look out for those close to them, which in this case was most of the town. Plenty of red herrings and a few subplots that might lead to some interesting follow up stories. I would also like to point out that there is a good amount of "girl power" in this story from the 80-year-old grandmother to the 12-year-old granddaughter.

This is the fourteenth book in the seaside knitting series. Birdie and Nell are part of a knitting club. Tess Bean is an environmental activist and is trying to get people in town to like her ideas. Bobby Abbott who owns the Harbor Club is completely against Tess's ideas. When Bobby is found dead, Tess is an immediate suspect along with Birdie and Nell's friend Gracie. Birdie's granddaughter knows Tess is innocent so Birdie and Nell start investigating.

I thought the mystery was good. It had a hard time grabbing and keeping my attention though. I really wanted to like this book more than I did. I'm not sure if it was because I jumped into this series in the middle. I might try and go back and start from the beginning to see if that makes a difference.

I received this book from net galley in exchange for an honest review.

The Seaside Knitting Studio is hosting its first holiday hygge and all the members are looking forward to a quiet gathering knitting or crocheting before a warm fire in their comfortable clothes with hot spiced cider and homemade cookies. Unfortunately, a murder disrupts the town of Sea Harbor and now the Seaside Knitters are tracking down a murderer in their midst. Who wanted Bobby Abbott dead? And does Tess Bean and her environmental activism play a role?

I’ve seen hygge yarn in the stores, but it’s Sally Goldenbaum’s A MURDEROUS TANGLE that sent me to google to learn more about the hygge lifestyle. Sally Goldenbaum’s charming characters make me want to pull out my loom and knit with soft music and the scent of lavender in the air. Sally Goldenbaum has a knack for crafting her own hygge style cozy mysteries as the atmosphere in every book I’ve read by her is warm and inviting.

Sally Goldenbaum has written one heck of a mystery! We had all sorts of red herrings amidst the genuine clues as I was kept guessing who the real murderer was till almost the very end. If you’re looking for a cleverly crafted mystery that also inspires you to change your own world for the better, then look no further than A MURDEROUS TANGLE.

Another outstanding book in the Seaside Knitters series. I love the characters in these books and they never seem to get boring--always a few new people to make the story fresh. And the setting in a small seaside town is just perfect for the imagination. I just love indulging in these books!

A Murderous Tangle by Sally Goldenbaum is about a group called the Seaside Knitters who get themselves involved in solving mysteries. A woman named Tess is very vocal in calling out small business owners who do not practice clean business. When one of the business owners is found murdered, Tess becomes the number one suspect. To save their beloved Tess, the Seaside Knitters with her granddaughter need to get busy solving the murder as soon as possible. This was a very enjoyable book. The characters were friendly and I enjoy reading about the knitter’s group. I agree environmental issues are important but I thought they focused a bit too much on that. Gabby was trying to find her place in this world and loving her Nona. Age didn’t matter. Her friends were young and elderly. I enjoyed the small coastal town. Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me an ARC to read and review.

A Murderous Tangle was like a lunch date with great friends. I love this series and enjoyed this latest installment. The story is well written and the mystery satisfied the armature sleuth in me. The characters are each so interesting and feel like old friends. I liked this book very much.

Princess Fuzzypants here: Birdie is still getting used to having her 12 year old granddaughter around and when she becomes an acolyte of a part-time ecology teacher, Birdie is not completely sure it is a good thing. Tess, the teacher, is quite mysterious and solitary but she has become a positive influence on Gabby and her friends. But when the questionable owner of a local bar is pushed off his own deck to his death and Gabby witnessed Tess shove him into the ocean on another occasion, she is wracked with guilt. Should she tell someone or keep silent. She is sure Tess is innocent of the crime but wonders if everyone else will think the same.
But it seems there was a lot more than Tess in the background of the victim’s life. He is quite a Lothario and there are suspicions that either a jilted lover or an exasperated spouse might have been involved. In fact, as more evidence becomes available, it seems more than likely this is the case but which one and why.
I was a bit nervous at first the ecological element to the story might overwhelm the mystery but in the end, it did not. If anything it enhanced it as the young girls went about increasing awareness in a positive way. The tangled web alluded to in the title certainly was both tangled and tragic in several lives. But in the end, there was a satisfying and happy conclusion as the people who needEd love and care most got the support they needed from the community of friends.
Four purrs and two paws up.

Book 14 in the series.

I love this series, but this one just didn't hold my interest. I found myself putting it down way more often than I usually do with books in this series. In the end, it was an okay book, and I, as always, look forward to more.

This is one of my favorite series'. The characters are wonderful, each one a story in their self. The mystery is always just that, an exciting mystery. While each book could be read as a stand alone, start with the first, for the ultimate reading enjoyment. Strongly recommend this book and series!!!

I love Sally Goldenbaum's series, I've read all the seaside knitters books, the characters are wonderful and invite you to curl up in Izzy's back room and knit with them. The mysteries and the caring community are a bonus, I'll keep coming back for more Nell, Birdie, Izzy and Cass.

A local bar owner is found dead. The police investigation determines he was murdered. He was not the most loved member of the community. The ladies of the Seaside Knitters group decide to poke around and see if they can figure out who did the dastardly deed.

Oh how I love this series. The Seaside Knitters are a group of local women of various ages and marital status. They spend lots of time together, not only knitting, but socializing and sleuthing. It's their natural curiosity and intelligence that gets them involved in solving murder mysteries. It's very clear that they love and support each other. There is a lot of thought put into these stories and I always get excited when I have the newest installment in my hands. This one did not disappoint me.

My thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this ARC.

A Murderous Tangle was a well crafted mystery with lots of interesting characters that has depth. I also liked the highlighting of environmentalism and pollution of the oceans.

These books are terrific, not only for the mysteries, but for the scent of wonderful fall foods you can imagine you can smell through the pages. I wish I was a knitter because I would love to join the Seaside Knitters at Izzy's shop or at Nell's house on Fridays. This time, a young environmental activist has encouraged the preteens of the town to get involved in cleaning up the shorelines. Tess is an enigma and when she is seen arguing with a bar owner who has no regard for recycling, then he winds up dead the next day, the Knitter jump in to investigate. Another clever mystery with delightful characters and delicious sounding foods. Wish I had a group of friends like that.

I quite enjoyed this book. Even though I haven't read all of them I was able to follow the story line and not feel lost. I like that there was a focus on environmental awareness and climate change. The descriptions make you feel like you're right there and in the action. The story kept my attention and the pacing was good. I will have to read more in this series.

I was given an advance copy via NetGalley and this is my honest review.
