So another in the Tiny Traveler's series, and if it seems like I'm choosing ones just to annoy the racist president of a certain country I assure you that's not the case....

This one follows the same pattern as the other two I've reviewed today (China and Puerto Rico). It features about a dozen colorful illustrations with local language words for various items, places, and customs depicted, and each page contains a search item. The books are bright, engaging, interesting and very educational. Like the other two, I commend this whole-heartedly.

This series is perfect for parents or educators who want to introduce new countries to kids, and teach them more about these counties. I absolutely love the pronunciation guides with the words! So helpful for kids and adults. The trivia facts are so entertaining and the pictures are beautiful.

This is a great addition to the Tiny Travelers series of books for kids. Designed to introduce children to the Mexico and the Mexican culture, the book does a great job of grabbing their attention with the bright and colorful pictures. There are some words (understandably) that are hard to pronounce, but the pronunciation of these words has been included to help readers. As an adult, I learned quite a bit that I didn't know! I know that kids will love reading this book and learning more about Mexico!

This tiny traveller’s guide is well drawn, and well -written. Pereira and Jaramillo do a masterful job of explaining cultural aspects of Mexico, hoping to several cities and even the Mexican jungle, with realistic imagery in every site. I especially love the treasure hunt, where there are items often food or animals that the little traveller must identify on every page and even a hidden one. Another thing I love about this little book was the use of Mexican terms (often of Nahuatl origin) with a pronunciation guide. After reading this book, I am definitely looking up the other books in this series to see what other treasure’s I can find.

A nice introduction to kids about a country and culture they may not know about. They can learn new things and find items to find and seek activity. Learn new food and words - may spark learning a new recipe or language.

This was a fun book for a child to learn a bit about another country. The book starts with a map of the country, which was nice because we got to see what it looked like. Each page highlights a special place in the country. One fun thing that the book does is offer some words in the language of the country.

One book in a very interesting series. Here we go to Mexico, to those who never been there, this is a fantastic journey in a book. What do they eat there? How would they celebrate? With pins where you can find the spot in real life, you'll feel like being there.

these are small books for young readers to introduce them to different cultures and countries. I liked the illustrations, they were very good.

Adorable pictures, cute rhyming pages and fun facts about the various areas.

This book is part of the Tiny Travelers series. In this entry, young armchair travelers will visit Mexico. The book consists of a series of two page spreads each one featuring a place or tradition. For each spot, there are facts and a hidden object to find. Readers will visit places including Mexico City, Guadalajara, a Day of the Dead celebration and will learn about food and culture. Helpfully many of the Spanish words are given phonetic spellings as well so as to help non-Spanish speakers pronounce the words. Readers will enjoy the vivid and colorful illustrations as they go through the book. This is a good entry in a good series.

A colorful and fun to read story about the culture of Mexico. Designed for kids, but one adults can enjoy reading to them as well. The only issue I had was that some of the items must be very regional, as my Mexican husband only new some of them. The Owl parade for example, was not known to him. Other than that, it was a fun book, and I enjoyed the brightness and fun aspect of the book. Would recommend.

This book is actually pretty cute. Setting aside the technical issues with the writing and the sometimes-clunky rhymes, there's actually a lot to like here. The colourful illustrations are appealing, showing different aspects of Mexican life and culture. The seek-and-find aspect may be a little easy for all but the youngest of readers, but older readers will have fun with the Mexican words (the most complicated of which have, thankfully, pronunciation guides). When I got to the end, I discovered another "quest". So readers will probably get at least two readings out of this one, and potentially more if they just want to read the book and enjoy the pictures after they've found all the objects for their stamps.

I think I need to check out some of the other books in this series. If they're anything like this one, they'll be nice introductions to other cultures and places around the world.

A great book to teach young children about Mexico. Facts about the country, the culture and the people were integrated in easy to follow dis you know sections. The bonus Spanish words made learning words easy. And the search and find is a great way to keep kids interested and engaged.

I loved the images in this book and they were brilliantly eye-catching! I loved the layout of the book and the way that different cultural elements are shown and introduced to children too, it is a great little introduction to Mexico. It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!!

This is an absolutely lovely book. My kids love these Tiny Travelers books. The art is cute. The facts are well thought out.

Beautifully illustrated with bold and bright images the book brings Mexico alive. Over a few pages we are shown the sights, sounds and flavours of this wonderful country.
A grown up but child friendly factual introduction, thereafter everything is tailed for fun and education.
Teeming with facts, helping to pronounce strange words and understand customs and traditions in another land. The word foreign is less intimidating when you embark on this search and find book.
Part puzzle, each scene has things to spot and notice, simple but often surprising facts all bringing a strange country into a welcoming place.
For adults Mexico may simply be the poor, poverty struck land where everyone wants to flee and the USA wants to keep them out. A place of bandits, cartels and shocking violence. Beaches the wealthy flock to for sun and cheap holidays.
Yet I have just read about El Angel, a Molcajete, an Axolotl, Cempasuchil flowers, the Quetzal bird and laughed remembering Mexican wrestlers.
A wonderful book I would not hesitate to share with a young child to enlarge their horizons and shrink their world into a place of interest and like-minded people.
It has an immediate learning outcome through its rhymes bright images and knowledge facts. It also has a subliminal effect of making one feel a commonality within our world and an urge to find out more about different people and the places they live.
I have learned a great deal in reading this book aimed at young children; it has made me want to visit this unique country and if it plants those thoughts into our youngsters it is a great book.
The series may run expensive if you feel the need to purchase each new country; I’m sure it’s success will take it beyond the initial 8 planned instalments. That said if you do take interesting holidays and have kids it should be on your pre-holiday shopping list for them to read up and suggest where they want to check out while they are there.
