Not very essential lifehacks. A lot of it is copied from other books/internet. I have read a lot of these books. If you’re searching for a summary of those, this is it.

You only live once, so Vindy Teja is giving us guide to make our lives happier. The essential life hacks are simple, yet insightful and conteract the ways we unwittingly sabatoge ourselves with our thoughts, don't look out for our own best interests, and dont maintain balance in life.

The book lays it out in simple terms and in ways that can easily be applied to anyone's life for immediate change.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. With so many self-help books out there I always hope to find something with original and new ideas but this book was filled with everything in all the other self-help books. Nothing special really.

This would be a great book for a recent graduate just setting off to build the life of their dreams. Incorporating Teja's principles into their thinking and actions would set them up for a mindful, fulfilling life. and for those of us still struggling to find such a life, it is a must-read too. Teja shows us that happiness is always within our reach, we just have to be disciplined in thought and actions. You don't have to have a lot of money, a spectacular partner or a wonderful job to find and create a rich life - Teja will show you how!

Where do I start with this book? YOLO Essential Life Hacks for Happiness is full of wonderful advice and tips for dealing with everyday life and relationships. I love the advise sprinkled throughout the book. One quote I loved was”the thought becomes the word which becomes the action - It becomes a life hack that you can use way more effectively.” Each chapter has a very useful section called Life Hacks and Questions and Answers to help summarize what you read. The Q-Tip acronym is such a great reminder. I have a lot of things in this book highlighted to go back to and re-read. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review and I will definitely be recommending book.

I wasn't able to finish it due to font and formatting of the ebook. Honestly, didn't find the content helpful either.

I'm not sure the style of this but ok suited being an ebook. I would have preferred something that I could write on. The suggestions are helpful and definitely worth trying. If you just read the book without doing the activities you will likely get a lot less out to of it.

I received the book freely for an honest review. There was a problem with the compatibility on my eBook reader, but I liked what I read even if it was kind of difficult. I liked the part with the notes at the end of the chapters giving you the opportunity to express your ideas there.

This book doesn't have any revolutionary ideas or anything. It's a lot of common sense and filled with tons of quotes and philosophical idea's from other author's. I can't say it's terrible because maybe by definition of "life hacks" I should have expected this to be compilations of things others have already said...

I wasn't wowed and I probably wouldn't get this as a gift. It just didn't ring a cord with me as being original or inspiring.

I am also not really a fan of the formatting. The font is constantly changing size, style or is bolded in some sentence and not others. Or the words are completely in all caps.

It also has weird characters/numbers and the spacing is inconsistent. (I'm by no means a terribly grammatically correct person or a formatting master). Overall I generally am not judgy when it comes to this kind of stuff but it honestly drove me crazy to look at it and because of the other choices in formatting I can't tell if these are typos or odd choices.

It's all very distracting and takes away from just reading the book. My feeling is extensive editing is needed to make the text and spacing consistent so it flows in a more readable manner.

Other reviewers gave high marks so maybe my copy downloaded incorrectly.
I really don't know. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

The book is indeed a "life hack" category book. a very interactive, engaging, hands-on manual kind of book. This book not only focuses on the development of own life but also developing relationships. It's a very balanced book in the sense that it talks about both productivity and mental development into more mature and compassionate human beings. The workbook pattern of the book ensures that short tasks can be practiced daily and get into the habit. Its more towards introspection rather than just talking about the external stimulus. "change starts within you"-kind. The language is easy, fast-paced with no unnecessary theories but it doesn't have that scientific case study backing which makes each and every method realistic instead of this, it got tons of examples to clarify the instructions. The author has shared her personal experiences which made better connectivity between the reader and the book.

Yolo -Vindy Teja

This is the first self help book I have read so was pleasantly surprised.
I enjoyed how the chapters were split with questions and answers and a notes section at the end of each chapter (this will be great for the paperback). I also liked how the chapters were interlinked to each other.
My favourite was chapter 6 “keeping calm and self care” which I feel this day and age we are all too guilty of neglecting.
“We cannot pour from and empty vessel”
Self care is vital not selfish. We are made aware in this book that self care is not just about body and soul but also heart and brain.
Self care is not just a one time thing or a sometime thing it should be an all time thing. I liked the way this book was presented and felt it was a really good read for anyone looking for a self help book.
Basically we should all live our best life and have fun. Practice love and wisdom daily in thoughts, words and actions. Show compassion for ones self and others. Define our own path in life.
I would definitely recommend this book.
Many thanks to the author and net galley for allowing me to read this book.

YOLO: Essential Life Hacks for Happiness is a short but meaty book. The author covers a lot of ground in this self-improvement book that focuses on increasing your happiness and bettering your relationships.

The information is well-presented and helpful. I found it an enjoyable read and made notes on several of the points for later reference. In each chapter, the author presents the material, summarizes it, and provides questions and exercises which lets the reader apply the information personally. I've always found this one of the best ways to help information retention.

I believe learning (and/or reviewing) should be continuous; we should always be under constant improvement! Anyone at any stage of their life could benefit from reading this book and I highly recommend it.

My thanks to NetGalley, the author and The Unapologetic Voice House LLC for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a good - middle of the road - good self-help book.. A good place to start, some good examples in it, but not groundbreaking or explosive (though, I read a lot of self-help). It's one of those books I'd recommend on a starter list.

I really liked the overall tonr of this book. Though it seemed to be looking for a teenage audience it was still filled with interesting tid bits and advice. It shows you how to find happiness in everyday. It is wonderful.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.

This book was received as an ARC from INscribe Digital - The Unapologetic Voice House LLC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

We are still in the search of self-help books and this one focused solely on happiness and offered some very intellectual insight on the benefits of happiness by stating constantly You Only Live Once or YOLO. I also loved the approach of life hacks and that there is happiness in pretty much everything and it all has to do with the viewpoint on it and how you see it. There is always a bright side to everything even if it is just a glimmer of light.

We will consider adding this title to our Self-Help collection at the library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

This one was an ok read. I thought the “life hacks” were obvious common sense for most adults, but this seems to be geared towards teens, so maybe that is why it is so basic.

Call it a reader's curse or take it as a reader being blessed, I am a sucker for references when it comes to nonfiction reads especially when they quote real life examples.

So basically when I started reading this book, I was impressed as it has real life examples with links and references. Real good examples I would say. Simple but it reach you deep.
I love how random the author talks in this book, like some things of importance catches her fancy and she's sharing it straightaway!
If it was some other book, this would be a big let down but it works fine with this one.

I love how significantly each chapter has been captioned. And the quotes that start each chapter are noteworthy.

I love the fact that no words are wasted, and the fact that the chapters are short and significant. The concept of balancing negative and positive with real life example seems practical. And yes, the book references are books that most of us are aware of. So we know what the author is talking about.

What I also love about this book is that the chapters that come later are in link with the previous chapters. And the exercises at the end of each chapter are worth trying out. They are pretty simple to follow and act on.

I love how it talks about basic life problems in a practical way on how they can be oversome step by step. And the best part is that this book does not preach.

The themes that are focused on includes self care in the first place, our attitude and actions, health, courage, confidence and courage, how to act or speak or think during some particular situations of life (yes, we all can act like know-it-all and say I don't need anyone telling me what to do or say like some random teen but yes, we humans become messy and messier and this book is for times like that).

My most favourite chapter is on thoughts and dreams. I actually love this part because I actually agree with what the author says on how to make your big dreams come true with some simple steps that most of us neglect or simply think it's unimportant.
FYI, she made this book happen. How many of us want to write a book or even a short poem for years and have been procrastinating ever since?

Let's focus on our own growth. Great advice I would say, dear author.

I love how the concepts of kindness and assisting have been represented.

Uptil here, that's 90 percent of the book, I got so hyped up about my dreams and was so motivated until there's this some weird chapters on careful driving, teenage pregnancy and academic dishonesty. I mean they are important topics but why such topics are discussed in a very hurried manner towards the end of this book is beyond my thinking capacity. It's like the essence got snatched all of a sudden. It was not at all needed.

I would have loved it more if newer concepts were introduced. And a unique format of representation of the chapters happened. There are already numerous self-help books which have almost have the same format and ideas/tips.

But overall, it was a pretty good read.

Thanks #NetGalley for providing me with a copy of #YOLOEssential LifeHacksForHappiness
