This book just did not hold my attention. It just makes no real sense. After halfway I had to say, " NOT FOR ME".
Not a perfect read.
Thanks, NetGalley for the advance copy to review.

The story is told from the point of view of Louise and Becca and goes from past to present. I liked the author’s style of writing and her character development was good and I enjoyed the premise of the story. However, I did find it overly long and found myself wondering when I’d read sixty percent of the book how much more there was to say before we got to the final outcome.
Thanks to NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review

While I was really excited to read this book, as I am about 90% of the time for thrillers and mysteries, The Perfect Widow didn't grab me the way I needed it to. I can usually tell within the first chapters - sometimes in the first few sentences - if a book is for me. Other times I need several chapters and even half the book. Because something is holding me to it. Unfortunately, The Perfect Widow was not one of these.

I tried to like it, I really did. But between the storyline, which wasn't THAT interesting, and the unedited version being chopped oddly - which is in no way the author's fault - I couldn't get into it. Again, as I always say, just because it wasn't for me, doesn't mean it might not be for you. And I'm more than happy to read future works by the author. Sometimes things just don't click.

The Perfect Widow releases 11.15.19.

I was really looking forward to this book but unfortunately I didn't finish it, I like to get hooked from the very first page but this didn't draw me into the story line at all.

Based on my opinion I wouldn't recommend this book but thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

I struggled to read this.... it was difficult to follow and as it was the unedited version the chapter separations weren’t clear! I unfortunately gave up 20% through the book. Sorry this isn’t something I do very often.

I so badly wanted to like this book, but struggled finishing it. I like when a thriller sucks me in on the first page, and unfortunately I never felt hooked. I couldn’t connect with the plot, characters, or emotions.

Unfortunately I didn’t finish The Perfect Widow. I found myself really irritated with the start but was interested in the storyline so decided to see where it goes. There was nothing that gripped me enough to continue....I mean I put this book down to go and clean which surely says it all.

My main issue is Becca. Her character is badly written. This police officer doesn’t like the way Louise reacts to finding out her husband has died so that makes Louise a suspect...are you for real? Grief does not work the same way for everyone and I found Becca offensive and jealous of Louise.

I didn't finish this book.
It just didn't seem to be going anywhere... and I couldn't understand (maybe I missed something) why Louise was under suspicion at all.
Not for me unfortunately.
