i really enjoyed reading this book, the characters were great and I loved the premise from the beginning. I look forward to more from the author.

I found this to be very entertaining. The characters are layered and authentic., as is the world they live in. There are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing til the end.
Many thanks to BooksGoSocial and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

The write-up for this book had caught my attention because it spoke of a twisted stalker and desperate measures. I was anticipating a juicy read.

I applaud the author in completing a piece of writing long enough to be a book, and to put it out there into the world. This is a courageous thing to do – well done for that.
there may be many more positive points, but I do not know them because I was not able to get very far with the book. I found the two main characters irksome, I think because I don’t handle well a loved-up couple who constantly verbalise that love but within a very short space of time and too easily. Instead it felt as though the author was trying to convince me too strongly through an emphasis on words rather than at depth; one could say the author or characters “protesteth too much”.

thanks for the ARC. this was a quick read but not very satisfying, why did it happen, what was the point of it all, not much emotion or motivation or really much of anything, i finished to try to see how and why, it ended with some unanswered questions but overall forgettable

Dear Jack Let’s play a game by Tayler Macneill
This is a tricky review to write. I received this as an ARC and I like to be positive but I will give a truthful review and unfortunately this was not a good read. From the beginning I was cringing at the immaturity of the writing and by the end I was just confused. To be honest I suspected something along the lines of the “reveal” but when I look back over the clues and red herrings it actually doesn’t add up at all. I’m not sure if Tayler was aiming for a “Dexter” type plot but the groundwork was not well enough laid for that. Tayler certainly advertises her own books throughout. Overall this needed a really good editor and with brutal edits may have the seeds of a decent yarn. Sorry, it’s not my style to be so critical but in my opinion this needs some work.

Quite entertaining! Deceit, lies, and domestic trouble. It's all here!

Jack and Kate live a "perfect life". Naively perfect, that is. They are married and in love with each other. Jack makes a decent living. Also, their home has been in Kate's family for years.

And then, while at work, Jack gets a threatening letter in a green envelope. He sort of dismisses it, yet he has been feeling as if he has been followed, lately. When a second letter is delivered to his house another threat - is in the letter and there is also a threatening email. Jack is confused but he must comply. After all, the life of his wife (and future baby) is at stake...

GREAT character development and plotline. A very fast read with lots of twists. A bit of a roller coaster.
I enjoyed reading this so much that I forgot to take some notes!

Many Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for a very good read!!!

What a book!!! This is not a very believable book in my opinion. There is no reason for anyone do the things that happen in these peoples lives. It is just too much to be realistic. The writing was stilted and there were several misspell words. Just not for me

Description
The day they met, Jack fell in love and they’ve been together ever since. Life had been perfect, he had the kind of life every man dreamed of; the perfect wife, a great job and a foreseeable retirement. That was until the day he came across a letter addressed, ‘Dear Jack’.

Now he watches as the perfect marriage, job and life gets thrown into hell. A twisted stalker, spilt blood, desperate measures in desperate times. Who holds the secrets and who is telling lies? It’s a fight between good and evil, who will win.

This book was just insane. Mystery meets horror. It did get to me and kept me in suspense to the end. I just felt uneasy. I would recommend the book to others who love some descriptive, serial killer mystery. It will get you and you will not see it coming.
Thanks, NetGalley for the advance copy for review.

Almost the 2 faces of Janus; it is all so wonderful and loving and sweet and beautiful. Then its not. And not in really awful ways. Its true that we hurt the ones we (supposedly) love worse than others. These guys could give a master class in betrayal and deception. I surely hope this is fiction.

The marriage looks so good, yet behind the scenes evil instructions are given; following them is the only way to keep things looking good. Feeling good is another matter, and distrust eats everything.

The writing is good enough to evoke the scenes described, hard images to not see, both the treacly goodness at the outset and worse things as the situation unravels..

Pretty stunning violence in some instances, and the ending still shakes me. More horror than mystery- beware.

I really don't like books where the plot is based on stupidity by the main character. In addition the language is stilted and the dialogue naive and unnatural. Not a book for me.
