This is a wonderful Fantasy for all ages.

A great mix of characters, from humans. Elves, Dragons, Aliens and stranger animals.

The story rolls along at a nice easy pace and left me wanting more.

I apologise i did not finish this sooner.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book.

This is a well rounded fantasy adventure story which i would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the genre. Check out the synopsis and get yourself a copy :-)

An engaging book that is well written and paced. Very appealing for lower YA readers with a main character, Ajax that is relatable. I loved how he got into the situation because he had to step up into the position of his brother - something he wasn't prepared for.

I really liked the font choice for the ebook (I know that's odd for a review but the font was sooo easy to read). Definitely a book I'd recommend.

a fantasy book, easy to read for young adults. About a boy who gets to know another world and has a lot of adventures with his friends before he can go bakc to his own world again.

This book is a great story that is told it seems with some problems. Let me list some of my concerns:

Characters that seem to change personalities to fit whatever part of the plot we happen to be in at the moment. pouty, heroic, arrogant. etc and they slip them on an off to the point it is very distracting, especially the prince.

Our hero who seems to need to be "calmed down" at regular intervals

A easily unlikable King and only a but more likable is his son depending on what personality he is wearing at the time.

The salvation of this book (and the reason it managed 4 Stars) is a great story that keeps you hanging on for something that you are probably not going to see for at least 2 or 3 books (something I did not realize when I started reading)

Bottom Line: 4 Stars for a really good story, only 4 Stars for some less than stellar written characters
Throw in a less than satisfying ending and you have me wondering if I still gave it 1 more star than it deserved.

What a wonderful middlegrade fantasy for all ages to enjoy! THE PORTAL KEEPER by S.T. Sanchez blends the magic of imagination, other realms and a quest that will test a young hero beyond his limits as he grows to meet the challenge of life!

Creative descriptions will allow readers to fall into this tale and become more invested with each page as both the action and the characters become more than words on the pages that seem to disappear!

As Ajax takes on a responsibility that was never meant to be his, along with his best friend, they will travel through a portal to save their prince. The future of their world depends on them as a prophecy unfolds and heroes are made! A brilliantly devised way to make readers out of young people and awaken their own sense of adventure while believing in the magic of well-chosen words!

I was invited to read a complimentary ARC edition by Scene Company. This is my honest and voluntary review.

A young man set to pick up his father's mantle after his brother disappears only to find all is not as it seems. Fast paced, great stories, brilliantly written characters and jam-packed full of adventure. Great read, already can't wait to read the next installment!

For the fantasy lover, or those new to genre, this delightful book has a secret portal to a strange and unique land, magic, dragons, and some interesting animals that talk and yet are similar in appearance to the ones we are used to. While it is written for the middle grade age group, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and think younger children may also.

The animals and humans in the story range from the kind and helpful to the dangerous and evil. Unlike elves at the North Pole in Santa stories, the ones in this book are mostly evil and followers of an elf who is intent on ruling the world. The main character is one who was spoken of in a prophecy from the past, and he is very surprised to discover that his destiny consists of coming face to face with this other world.

Overall, this is wonderfully imaginative story, and I would like to read more books by this author.

The portal was an amazing book that I would definitely recommend. It was a really well written story and I can’t wait for the next one.
Pros
The story is really creative and makes you want to read more and more. It is also really descriptive.
Cons
Sometimes things just ran along to quickly and could of been described more. also Sometimes the solution to a problem was to easy and I think it should be harder.
