I received an advance reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The description of this book drew me in and so I had to request it.

However I believe it expired in the NetGalley App before I had a chance to open the pages so sadly I was unable to read this book.

This was OK. I wasn't really invested in the story or anything that was going on. I wasn't mind blown or anything but it was a good read.

The book has been very well structured and the plot is traceable and very interesting. The characters seem very authentic and realistic to me.

This was an okay book but could have been so much more. The idea was excellent. The execution of the idea wasn't so good

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy of this book! I loved the fashion industry details in this book but the plot line and character development fell flat. It had a lot of potential but I found myself wanting more out of the story. The ending didn’t come together for me in the way I wanted it to. I would give this author another chance, but this book just wasn’t it for me.

R. Saint Claire’s Fashion Victims is an okay thriller that had the potential to be a lot better. I love the glimpse into the fashion world and the mystery is interesting but the ridiculous ending left me cold.

Aging designer Len St. Michel is trying to make a comeback in the New York fashion world. However, his drug binges and frequent visits to a high-end sex club is wreaking havoc on his mind and body. There’s also a serial killer targeting New York’s fashion elite. All the murder victims are somehow linked to Len. Meanwhile, he discovers a mysterious new muse who inspires him to amazing creative heights. Will Len succeed in making a triumphant comeback? Or will he become the next murder victim?

This book is a fast-paced and fairly entertaining read. I was fascinated with the mystery and stayed glued to my Kindle. However, I am so disappointed with the wasted potential of the serial killer plot and the ridiculous and unsatisfying ending! It doesn’t make much sense. The mystery also lacked suspense and urgency. Overall, the book could have been much better written. I wish Saint Claire had fleshed out the plot much more as this would’ve really taken the book to at least three stars for me.

I really enjoyed reading about the fashion industry. I especially love the descriptions of Len’s designs. I like the interactions between him and his muse, the angelic and secretive Lilly Rose. I also like how Saint Claire explores Len’s deep-rooted psychological issues but I would’ve liked a bit more expansion.

Len is an interesting and well-crafted protagonist. I admire his creativity and drive. He is very unlikeable, especially with regards to his opinions on women. However, I didn’t mind as much because he’s so complex and well-written that I realize I don’t need to like or relate to him. However, the rest of the characters are vaguely drawn or stereotypical. I wish they were more significantly developed. But, I do like Len’s complicated relationship with Francine, his brusque business partner. I especially would have liked to see a better written relationship between Len and Mario Corso, the detective leading the murder investigation. Their interactions are stereotypical and implausible.

Fashion Victims is a decent and fast-paced one-time read. The fashion world was truly interesting but the plot and characters could have been more developed and better written.

I read this during Fashion Week here in London and looking at the designs and styles was the perfect backdrop to reading this murder mystery.
We have new designers popping and old well established ones not quite managing to reach the zeitgeist of the era and year. It is a very competitive world and murders in amongst the designers and fashion world are good fodder for authors.
This story was well paced and intriguing and fitted right into my other reading as I looked what hemlines were doing, what fabrics and colours were in and whether anyone was really working on being sustainable - even if the fashion bloggers and reviewers had signed up not buy anything new this month!

This is the first novel I have read from the author and I was riveted from the first pages. It kept me guessing from the outset and loved every moment. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the arc.

LOVED this book, it is fun, fast paced, sexy, original and a very good thriller. A serial killer, drugs, sex and fashion. The central character is wonderful, they are all believable and the book is well written. Excellent!

I must say this was a bit weird and special and not what I thought it would be... but I liked it.

Well written, for adults....

Interesting from start to finish. It kept me turning the pages. Not boring.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Like a bad train wreck, I couldn’t keep my eyes off the pages of this book.

Fashion Victims by R. Saint Claire is about a has-been designer trying to make a comeback at this season fashion show while dealing with the random deaths of people in the fashion industry. Len is gay and into S&M, cocaine regularly up the nose, and still dealing with daddy issues and abuse that occurred when he was a child.

The book was written at a fast pace. I found myself turning page after page, without a break. When I would finally come up for air, I would be like, what is it about this book that has me captivated? I’m still not sure how to answer that question. The book is average writing, an average mystery, and yet, I found it hard to put it down.

I think the only true complaint I have about this book is that the author could have filled in more of the story. Fattened it up so to speak. I probably would have gave this book 4 stars if there had been more to the story, but as it is, I give it 3 stars. I definitely am curious enough to read another one of her books.

Thank to NetGalley and R. Saint Claire for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I received a free ebook version of this book from Netgalley. Thankyou to both Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this! My review is still honest.

This book was unlike anything else I've read. It's a mix of thriller and erotica, heavy emphasis on the thriller. I did enjoy it, but it had it's lacking elements.
Fashion Victims follows Len, a fashion designer who hasn't been doing brilliantly lately. As his new collection develops and he find new inspirations, prominent people in the fashion industry are being murdered and Len continues to visit an exclusive BDSM club where anything goes.
I will say this book is very riveting. It has an easy writing style that was quick to get through and very engaging. I really liked the descriptions of the fashion world and of Len's designs, his success always felt believable and the poison flower inspired collection was genuinely inspiring. The psychological issues he faces are a bigger part of this book than expected, and I think it was done well. The mystery itself was shocking and kept me turning the pages. The characters were vivid and different and I enjoyed reading about the fashion industry and the logistics of it.
I do have a few issues to note, one being it felt a little incomplete and the ending was unsatisfying for me. I wanted something different which could be personal preference, but I still had questions and just ended up feeling like I wanted a bit more from this story. I will also say that some of Len's, our POV character's views could be very offensive as he does have some negative opinions on women who have tattoos or any kind of 'fakery', and safe words aren't respected at all in the BDSM part of the plot. On another note, the BDSM and thriller aspects didn't really tie together, and felt almost like two different stories.
I do think the good far outweighed the bad, and I'm impressed with this for such a little known book. I'd certainly be interested in reading more from this author.

A fun little erotic mystery. Mainly told from Len's point of view. Murder, BDSM, fashion....it's got everything steamy.

I received Fashion Victims by Claire ,free, from Net Gallery in exchange for an honest review.
There is a serial killer , running around NYC, killing people.
Actually, the killings involve the Garment District, which is on Seventh Ave
This book has everything. Rivalries in the fashion industry, drugs, and a lot of sex.
This is a psychological thriller which will be very hard for you to put dow.
This book kept me up late at night, wanting to know what wild thing would happen next
It is a combination between what would happen at Platos Retreat, an infamous place where celebrities involved themselves with depraved things in the sixties

This iBook was ok. Not one of the best I’ve read but a decent story if a little cheesy at parts. Not really my usual genre

Not my idea of a psychological thriller, I'm afraid. Too predictable in places and too flat in others.

This is the first book I've read from the author and it's clear she's not new to the game.

I found myself riveted to the pages, turning them at breakneck speed. I was sure, until the last 10%, this was going to be a 5-star-read, and then it all fell apart (at least for me).

The story is told mostly from Len's point-of-view. He's a complex man. I liked the inclusion of his visit to the club. I didn't like that safewords went ignore, but, sadly, I guess it happens.

It's not a light read, people die. The who and why is what's most at stake here. The reveal was so wacky it absolutely killed the story for me.

I turned the last page asking myself wtf? And not because I was blown away, it just seemed absolutely ridiculous...so many questions, ut none I can voice without posting huge spoilers.

Others might feel differently, and I hope they do. It might help me see the ending in a different light.

Although this is far from a M/M romance, I've tagged it as M/M due to the main character being gay.
