There’s not a book by Becky Thompson that I haven’t read and loved, and this one can be added to the list! Specifically related to this book, I’ve been following along with the Midnight Mom Facebook community for quite a while now and have so enjoyed being a part of it. So of course, I was thrilled to see this book release.
Midnight Mom Devotional is quite simply a book of prayers, one to read each evening per day of the year. I love the heart and thoughtfulness that has obviously been poured into each and every one of these prayers by Becky and her mother. They cover a vast expanse of topics, though all relatable to motherhood, and I just really enjoyed how it was written. Countless prayers specifically touched my heart.
This is a beautiful, special book that I know I’ll treasure and revisit year in and year out. Definitely a book that would make for a wonderful gift for momma’s!
Thank you NetGalley and Waterbrook Press for the complimentary copy.
I love the love all the devotional that this book offers, The diversity is a blessing and an inspiration in your prayer life.
The one year prayer for mothers will help you go through different needs in the life of motherhood.
Do you know a mom who needs some helpful thoughts sent their way? Are they doing too much? Do they berate their body? Do they worry about a spouse in law enforcement? Do they give and give and give?
There are thoughts for all these moms and many more in this book of 365 prayers. Written by a mother and daughter team, the authors encourage their readers to think about the needs of those they know. This book has a nice concept and will offer thoughts for a whole year.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review
I liked this book. Obviously it takes a year to read it so I’m not super sure how to revise it seeing as I haven’t read the entire thing yet. But nuggets of wisdom. Motherhood. Blah blah blah.
Such a wonderful book, that helps us to think, and pray for, others. I love how each devotion is detailed and specific.
It's kind of hard to write a review on this one as it is a daily devotional and it will take an entire year to get through. However, I did read the first few weeks just so I could get a feel for how the book will flow. I am very impressed so far! I am looking forward to reading it each day.
Midnight Mom Devotional caught my attention when I read this sentence in the description...
“There is something about a quiet house in the midnight hours that causes stress and anxious thoughts that have been ignored throughout the day to rise to the surface of a mother’s heart.”
Oh, how true these words are! How many times has Satan used those late hours to attack me bringing to mind fears. Through God’s Word and speaking Truth through prayers, have I seen my anxiety’s weaken. This book has prayers to Geo you when I don’t know what to say. They are short and simple, something you might text to a friend to encourage. The only thing I think is missing is Scripture in the prayers. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this book.
