I am ambivalent about the subject matter, the story and the book. But all the best to the author and the prisoner. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC.

A sad book. This one. A doctor goes missing, apparently kidnapped only to found later with materials suggestive of her inclusion in a plot to commit acts of terrorism.
She is serving an exceptionally long sentence in prison now for acts she can no longer defend herself against.
The author draws from documents to present you the eveidence but much is classified and therefore unavailable, which does not leave the reader a full picture.
still a good read id you like reading evidence and attempting to make a judgement.

Aafia Unheard: Uncovering the Personal and Legal Mysteries Surrounding FBI's Most Wanted Woman! is an interesting read. I did have to reread some sections to grasp a better understanding.
I give this three stars.

ARC from NET GALLEY

I wanted to like it but it was dry, and too many 'classified' gaps.

I was left unimpressed that just because you are educated, married, etc you can't be the enemy.

I'm not saying she was, I am saying the life description should not be viewed as an automatic disqualifier.

But I served for 30 years too. Read for yourself

I absolutely loved this. One of the things I love to learn about most is culture in the Middle East and Asia because it is so very different than how I live in North Carolina, USA. I felt empowered reading this and I hope that women can really find this book and read it but also learn it. Learn what change really looks like.
