Invasion is a good historical fiction novel that is well written and has many characters. This is not a quick read, and it is full of action.

Not my usual type of book but I do like historical fiction so although it is set later than I normally read, I liked the sound of the blurb so I took a chance. I bloody loved it! Brilliant book, and I hope there will be a next one.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. 'Invasion' is part of a greater historical fiction series about the War of 1812. This second book to me was not adequately woven into what occured in the first. This story of the invasion of Canada during the War of 1812 is important but the fictionalized characters were not well developed not interesting.

Invasion is the second book in the Captain John McClea series by A J Mackenzie that I have read and it is another enjoyable & twisty historical novel that kept me entertained throughout.

There is a very large cast which at times was slightly confusing but overall the pace of the book was good and is one I would recommend
