Another fantastic title in this early reader graphic novel series perfect for young readers branching into comics. Bernard has gone missing and the sloths gather their courage to find them. They also find what goes bump in the night. A tale of friendship and team work and conquering fears, Peter & Ernesto have another fantastic adventure they don't exactly want, but enjoy nonetheless.

This is a great "no man left behind' story where the whole tribe searches for the one person that is lost. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from this author.

This is a fun graphic novel series that will keep kids laughing, and which they will read repeatedly. With often-sly humor, Sloths in the Night features Peter &Ernesto searching for a missing friend, along with their other sloth friends. There are fun plot twists and turns, and young readers will be drawn to this clever, funny tale.

One of their friends, Bernard, is missing, and night is falling, so the other sloths set out to find him. They’re concerned because there are rumors of a dragon at the old temple. While on their journey, they encounter various night creatures, including bats, owls, and frogs.

It’s reassuring to see the sloth friends banding together to look out for each other, particularly when they value each other’s individual strengths. This storyline brings up another contrast between Peter and Ernesto: Peter is practical, creating technological items, while Ernesto loves fantasy and creative imagination. Peter keeps an eye on the schedule, and sings reassuring songs, while Ernesto leaps into activities without worrying about how they’ll land.

No worries, though, it’s all a happy ending, with some new friends met along the way. That’s comforting, as well as entertaining.

Sloths in the Night is a wonderfully charming and silly graphic novels about friendship. Great for younger readers, this series will keep kids giggling from start to finish.

Peter and Ernesto is a wonderfully silly graphic novel series. My kids look forward to new episodes. Sloths in the Night is a great expedition of finding lost friends and all the adventures the sloth crew goes on while looking for one another. The humor and mystery in the book was entertaining and typical of the series.

Peter and Ernesto are back in the same rambling, meet-life-as-it-comes-to-us kind of adventure as their other books. Once again, the two title characters are separated, and while I found it a little hard to keep track of all the characters and who was in which storyline, I thought it was charming. Peter and Ernesto's problem-solving skills provide good lessons in resourcefulness for kids, and readers will also like the dragon--especially the ultimate reveal of the dragon's identity. One of the most impressive elements in this series is the author's ability to depict many different kinds of sloths in cartoon format. I thought the story was a little slow, but it works as an easy reader and will appeal to fans of slice-of-life stories. Ages 6 to 10.

We LOVE Peter and Ernesto in our school library and Graham Annabelle’s newest book is bound to be a hit. In Peter and Ernesto: Sloths in the Night,the whole sloth community goes looking or their friend Bernard. Along the way we meet all sorts of interesting animals and see how far friends will go to find each other. Once again, Peter’s caution (as well as his amazing songs) and Ernesto’s fearlessness play key roles in the rescue effort. The Peter and Ernesto series is graphic novel fun for everyone.

This is the first time I've read Peter & Ernesto's adventures! I absolutely could not put it down - I read this whole graphic novel in one sitting. I love throughout their adventure to find Bernard how the friends embrace each other's differences and show that it's totally fine to be wrong!

This is perfect for chapter book readers and middle graders who love a good animal or friendship story.

I love the Peter and Ernesto series! They're a classic best-friends duo, like Bert and Ernie, Frog and Toad, or Elephant and Piggie. In this volume they're joined by a few more friends, sloths and otherwise, and venture yet again beyond their tree, in search of a missing friend and a DRAGON.

This is one of my favorite graphic novels to hand to kids who are still building their confidence at reading-- it's longer than most easy readers, making it feel like an accomplishment to finish, but still has the built-in delights of large, expressive pictures and few panels on a page. Kids who resist picking up a chapter book on their own will more willingly try this, and often read it in a sitting or two. My chapter book book club gobbled up the first in the series and asked for more, and this volume definitely delivers.

This is a great beginner graphic novel. It’s short but engaging. Bernard goes missing and all his friends go out to find him. It was funny and intriguing.

I liked this, but the personalities of Ernesto (adventurous) and Peter (less adventurous), and the ways in which they complement each other as friends, shine much better in their introductory first volume. Still, a great series for kids who love comics and an easy title to recommend.

Peter and Ernesto are the best of friends. As they set out on an adventure to find their friend Bernard, they learn lessons on bravery, commitment to a cause, accepting our differences, helping others, and that it is okay to not always be right. The also find themselves in some fun scenarios like going through a dark forest at night and meeting a dragon!

I read this book with my 7 and 10 year old boys and we all loved it! This is a graphic novel that was at the perfect level for my first grader (2nd grade reading level). We each took on the role of different characters and took turns reading. My first grader only needed help with 2 or 3 words. He really enjoyed the book and gives it one million stars 🤣

The illustrations were fantastic and supported the content very well without being too busy.

This time, their friend Bernard goes missing, possibly in search of a rumored dragon that lives in a nearby temple; it's getting dark, though, and the jungle is no place for a sloth to be at night, especially on his own. The friends head out on their own adventure to find Bernard, and possibly, the dragon, and meet a host of hilarious animals along the way.

The Peter and Ernesto books are adorable stories about friendship, embracing differences, and working together. They never disappoint, and are perfect for chapter book readers and middle graders who love a good animal or friendship story. Peter and Ernesto are like Bert and Ernie; Frog and Toad; George and Martha. They're friends who love one another, differences and all; they push one another outside their comfort zones (with hilarious, sweet results); they embrace all of their friends, together, and they are always thrilled to make new friends. Graham Annable's cheerful artwork is immediately recognizable: kids will know, as soon as this book shows up on shelves, that this is a new Peter and Ernesto story. 

If you haven't had the fun of experiencing a Peter and Ernesto story yet, treat yourself.

Peter and Ernesto are beloved characters in the library. It is hard to keep the book on the shelf. I am excited to add another one.

Sloths In The Night is another fine slothfest, with Peter, Ernesto and the gang. When a sloth-friend (Bernard, the orange one) can't be found, Ernesto declares he must've gone to see the dragon in another part of the jungle. The sloths set out to find their missing friend, having mini-adventures (sledding, exploring in the dark, zip-lining) and making new friends (a bat, frogs, the aforementioned dragon, and a river otter with aspirations) along the way. Expectations are foiled, but that's okay. Sometimes Peter is right when he worries, and sometimes he's not. In the end, optimism, perseverance, and a new find ensures the entire group can weather whatever comes next.

A cute graphic novel great for 3-4th graders and beginning chapter book readers. The story is pretty simple, mostly dialogue. The illustrations are totally adorable.
