I'm usually a little nervous about the second book in a series- they tend to lose a little of the fun of the first. That is not the case with Undercover Bromance at all! I loved Mack as a secondary character in Bromance Book Club, so I was happy to see him as the lead in this book along with Thea's sister, Liv. They had a fantastic scene in the first book so I was thrilled that they were the focus of this book. I also appreciated how this book tackled the #MeToo movement in a realistic, believable way that did not come off as preachy. I think I liked this one a little better than the first and can't wait to read the next one!

Undercover Bromance is a fun light-hearted read. I recommend reading book 1 first to get the most out of it. The first book's couple is still my favorite, but I enjoyed this one. I didn't think their chemistry was quite as strong, but I enjoyed the journey regardless. Romance fans I recommend.

I didn't think it was as good as the first book, but still a humorous, fun read. The whole premise of guys and bookclubs is perfect!

Mack's story is a good one! We met him in The Bromance Book Club, we fell for him just a bit... but here... OMG... I fell all the way. A super fun read that will have you laughing, swooning, and longing for more. Lyssa Kay Adams brings the same charm from her debut novel in this one. Loved!

Undercover Bromance is the second book in Lyssa Kay Adams Bromance Book Club series. If you read the first book, you would’ve been introduced to this book’s main characters. I was looking forward to reading this book because I wanted to find out who Mack would end up within his book. After finding out who she was, I was even more fully invested. Liv is one female character who won’t be won over by Mack’s charms. He is the Bromance Book Club founder and supposedly knows how to win over a woman until he meets Liv.

Female Protagonist: Liv Papandreas is a successful pastry chef working at a high-end restaurant. She’s the sister of the female protagonist of the first book. She tends to stick up for her sister and all women. She also is stubborn when she needs help. She wants to take care of everything herself. She manages to hurt herself in the long run, though. I was not a fan of her character. She did certain things that drove me crazy, but I’ll go into it below in the storyline. (She also lives on a farm with two secondary characters that won me over more than Liv.)

Male Protagonist: Braden Mack is a club/bar owner. He’s also the founder of the ‘Bromance Book Club.’ He’s from a broken family, and readers will get his back story, which is a tough one. I felt for Braden. I wanted to go through the book and give him a big hug for what he’s been through in life. He’s a true Alpha male who is very protective of who he cares for, and readers will find out how he came about to reading romance books. I loved his character.

Storyline: The story starts with Mack wanting to impress the girl he’s been dating. He ends up at the restaurant that Liv works at and gets her in trouble with her boss. He feels bad. Liv, though, can handle it until she finds out her boss is harassing the hostess and gets fired when she confronts him. Mack is determined more than ever to help Liv after finding out what happened. He also will try to assist Liv in assisting the hostess that was harassed by her former boss. It’s going to be hard for these two to not fall in love with each other. They love to go back and forth and bicker with each other. There’s no doubt when these two finally get together, and it will be explosive. The story does involve sexual harassment/assault elements in it. One of the most significant issues I had with the story is how Liv handled the situation with the hostess initially and toward the end after finding out that other women have been harassed/assaulted. There was also the issue of how Liv handled finding out about Mack’s past. She couldn’t be supportive. I did like how Lyssa Kay Adams ended the book. (I won’t go into details because I don’t want to spoil it.)

Steaminess: Some steam.

Standalone or Series: Part of series, but each can be read as a standalone.

HEA: Yes

Trope: Enemies to Lovers (My favorite trope)

Would I recommend this book? Overall, this book only got 3.5-stars, but that doesn’t mean other readers won’t give it a higher rating. Even though this book wasn’t my favorite in the series, I will continue to read this series, especially after finding who is in the next book. If you are a fan of Contemporary Romance that involves a group of athletes, entrepreneurs, etc. that are in a Romance (Bromance) Book Club, then this book is for you.

My favorite scenes in the book ended with the Rooster ‘Randy’ attacking any male in the story, especially Mack. It was too funny because I have roosters/chickens myself and have witnessed Roosters being aggressive. I even had aggressive chickens. No one comes onto our property without an announcement. 😂

First off: I LOVED The Bromance Book Club. It was one of my favorite books of 2019. Undercover Bromance? Even better.

I normally don't like second books in a series as much as I enjoyed the first, but this one was special.

Adams takes on another aspect of the romance literature world, with her later Bromance Book Club novel. Braden (the "bro" for this tale), gets a little reality check when it comes to honesty in romance, while Liv (a woman determined to bring down her sleazy former boss), only wants his help, not his romancing. Or so she thinks.
Despite an odd mix of goofiness (numerous discussions of one characters deadly farts) and serious topics (sexual harassment and abuse of power), this is a solid entry in an entertaining series.

I love this series so much! After tearing through the first title, I couldn't wait to read the next one. It didn't disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed Liv and Mack's story. I love the feminist twist, the male focus, everything! Can't wait to read the next one.

It's a bit weird to read a rom-com book that deals with sexual harrassment, but it's done here. It's done well and I enjoyed this book. I just had a hard time trying to appreciate the severity of sexual harrasment in the workplace, women who are being paid off and feeling helpless... with two characters that are trying to build a romance based on trust.

Unlike other reviewers, I liked that the bromance book wasn't heavily featured in this book. I didn't enjoy reading pages upon pages of another romance novel while trying to read this one. I didn't want to read two books - I wanted to read the book in front of me. I thought this book did that very well - only including one lengthy passage.

Overall, it was a fun read and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't memorable enough for 5 stars. I will read the next book, however (I heard it features The Russian!).

Gotta love a book with a dramatic scene that hinges on whether or not a lactose intolerant guy farts.

After reading the first book in this series, I thought I sort of knew what to expect with this book. And boy was I wrong. Much to my disappointment, this book takes a very strange position regarding sexual assault. I think the author was trying to make a statement in light of the #MeToo movement, but it missed the mark by a mile. I feel like an editor should have caught this. The heroine, Liv, basically spends a majority of the book victim-blaming and wondering why women feel scared to come forward against their abusers. This is a mild spoiler but she also specifically tells a coworker who was assaulted that she will keep her assault a secret, and then tells several people, including the hero, who in turn tells SEVERAL PEOPLE and it's such a huge violation of trust and it seems to happen under the excuse of 'oh well it's for the victim's own good. we're the good guys, we're trying to help.'

I kept reading to see if maybe it got better, but it doesn't. Also, I read a lot of romance so I'm familiar with the expectations of the genre. The romance in this book doesn't really even get hinted at until halfway through the book. For the first chapter or two, I still thought there was a chance of it being a romance between the hero and the woman he is dating at the start. It just felt incredibly weird and at no point in time do we get a sense that these characters are falling for each other, until suddenly they're kissing. So in that regard, the romance was weirdly paced.

I was so excited to jump right into this book as soon as I finished the first book.

Let's be real, I was excited for more Mack and let me tell you, he did not disappoint!!

I do have to admit that I didn't enjoy this book as much, mostly because I didn't really care that much for Liv. I did like her a lot better this time around than as a secondary character in the first book and I don't hate her and Mack together. They totally work. I just found myself kind of annoyed by some of her thoughts and it was a little harder to fall in love with the story for that reason.

That being said, I think Lysaa Kay Adams writing is fantastic and I'm still so in love with everything this Bromance Book Club stands for. I can't wait for more!!

This is the second book in the Bromance Book Club and while I loved the first one, I think I enjoyed this one even more!

This book is set in Nashville, and our main characters are Braden Mack (a nightclub owner who thinks thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in that department) and Liz Papandreas (a stubborn sous chef who believes in justice).

Liz walks in on her boss sexually harassing an employee and after confronting him she gets fired and he blackballs her all over town. But she’s not going to let that stop her from exposing who he really is. The problem is, she’s going to need Braden’s help, and she really can’t stand him...

I really enjoyed both main characters and loved how feisty they both were. Their banter was hilarious and wonderful. Plus the story was fast-paced and had an element of suspense that really kept me on the edge of my seat!

As we learned in the first book, Braden is part of the Bromance Book Club. The Book Club is full of hilarious characters and frankly I can’t wait for a book about each of them! We’re in luck because the third book in the series, Crazy Stupid Bromance, comes out on October 27!

Definitely grab yourself a copy of this book if you haven’t already. The audiobook is really wonderful too, narrated by Andrew Eiden, and is just over nine hours in length.

4.5 rounded up I’m rating high because this book was just what I needed right now. It was light and funny, it kept me engaged and I wanted to keep going to see what happened! I loved all the characters and the steam was perfection! Brayden Mack is one hot sexy book boyfriend I won’t forget!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams. All opinions are my own!

I loved the first book in this series, so I was super excited to dive into this one. I didn't love it as much as I liked the first one but I think that's because I had a hard time liking main character, Liv. There weren't a lot of redeeming qualities about Liv, in my opinion. I was pleased with her character development at the end, though. I really loved the #MeToo tie-in with this story, and was really moved by how powerful it ended up being. This is a series that I'll recommend over and over again to anyone who will listen. I'm thrilled I was trusted enough to read and review this, and I hope to get my hands on the next one *hint, hint* really soon!

This is the second book in the Bromance Book Club series. Here we have Mack and Liv's story.

Liv is an aspiring chef working for a celebrity chef and owner at Nashville's honest restaurant. She loses her job after witnessing the restaurant's owner sexually harassing another employee. After losing her job, Liv decides she needs to do something. However, she will need help, and recruits Braden Mack.

Braden Mack is the founder of the Bromance Book Club, and declares himself an expert in romance. In this book though, we learn that Mack isn't really an expert in romance, and his reliance on romance novels was actually hurting him.

Mack and Liv team up to take down her former boss. They realize they like each other along way, and things seem to be going fine until the truth about Mack's past is exposed.

I didn't enjoy this book as much I did the first. I enjoyed the dialogued in this book amongst the characters. It made the book fun and easy to read. Liv was a difficult character to like, even as I supported her mission, I didn't not like her approach. She was so hell bent on taking down her former boss, that her determination made her selfish, careless, and harmful to those she claimed she was trying to help.

I have enjoyed this series, and can't wait for the next installment.

*Trigger warning: sexual assault and sexual harassment

Thank You to Netgalley for this arc.

Ok, good book, great concept, not QUITE as good as the first book, but a solid continuation. I wish that the book the Bromance Bookclub was reading was provided in this book as it was in the first one. As such, the parallels between the "manual" and what the MC H is experiencing were tenuous and it didn't tie together as well as the first one did. Also, the BBC didn't show up nearly as much and I really wanted to see how Hops' first group meeting went and how he read the "manual" and how he used it to work on himself and his relationship.

The plot was about how the h wanted to bring down a powerful serial sexual harasser, they had a time table of three weeks, yet that very important plot line was pretty much dropped in favor of the Drama-Rama romance between the H and the h. That was disappointing to me I will admit. I guess the first book was so good, that this second book had big shoes to fill and it didn't quite do that, BUT it is still good enough that I read it in one sitting and will continue with this series.

It is being recommended to my Boss to order for the store and to recommend to our romance reading customers and I will be reading the next book with great anticipation. There IS potty language and some spicy scenes between non-married hetero-normative characters, so this book may not be for everybody. Also, the sexual harassment might be triggering for some readers, so be aware of that.

My favorite character is the Russian. I would LOVE to see him in his own book. Noah is pretty amazing too. He may be my new Book Boyfriend.

So, solid character development, though I would like more of the BBC and less of the back and forth between love interests who don't communicate well causing High Drama. 3, solid I am reading the next book and can't wait, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

This is such a fun series.
Bromance was a combo of funny, wacky (could do without the farting Russian), timely, (#metoo) and of course, sexytimes! If that sounds like a lot, it is but Adams does a great job of moving things along and she certainly kept me interested and turning the pages.

I'm definitely looking forward to book three in the series!!

Braden Mack wasn't my favorite in the first book, but he really redeems himself in Undercover Bromance. Having read The Bromance Book Club + Crazy Stupid Bromance, I would say this one is good but I enjoyed the other two more. Crazy Stupid Bromance is my favorite. I will happily inhale as many books in this series as Lyssa Kay Adams will release!
