I loved The Bromance Book Club and thought it was such a fun concept: a group of guys reading romance novels and learning more about women and relationships. I was curious about Mack and Liv in Gavin and Thea’s story and was excited to see how their relationship would play out in Bromance Undercover.

From what we saw of Liv in The Bromance Book Club, it was obvious she was opinionated, strong willed, and snarky. I was interested to see how she could be as a protagonist since her main role in TBBC was basically to cause friction. She was still all sharp corners and sarcasm in Bromance Undercover, but getting to see more of her showed us that she used those things as a defense to keep people at arm’s length and protect herself. I grew to understand and like her better than in the first book, but I still thought she was a bit much at times. It felt like there were times when she was being contrary for the sake of being contrary and it got tiring to see the back and forth of her softening, hardening, repeat. That being said, I had to appreciate her character; there are plenty of people with personalities similar to hers and I think it’s important to show a wide range of characters, even ones that aren’t necessarily all that likeable. Not everyone is sunshine and lightness in real life, so why should every book heroine be? I also appreciated Liv’s growth and I liked that people helped her learn some things about herself that led her to ultimately become a better person.

While Liv wasn’t my favourite character, I did adore Mack. He tried so hard with women - often too hard - but it was because he didn’t want to be anything like his dad. He wanted to do away with toxic masculinity and help other men learn how to be better men in general as well as better partners. He was funny and sexy and I liked how he didn’t give up on Liv even when she didn’t make things easy.

Bromance Undercover was fun, funny, entertaining, and a bit cheesy at times but in the best way possible. The #MeToo storyline was timely and it was nice to see someone who had abused his position of power get taken down. The world is going to hell in a handbasket right now, and this book was a nice escape from it all.

This was a fun romance with a twist, since it was being told mostly from the male character's point of view. I feel that you can definitely enjoy this even if you did not read the first book in the series, as I haven't read that one yet!

If you like witty dialogue and unique characters set in a enemies to lover's romance, this book is for you. It is laugh out loud funny sequel to the "Bromance Bookclub". You want the main characters to be your friends and have your back while the side characters steal the show. Lyssa Kay Adams writes about real issues in an entertaining way. I would read anything she writes. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

While the romance of this one had me far more invested than the first, the plot to take down the predator was tone-deaf to me. While the plotline was timely, I don't think it was handled well. I wasn't happy with the way Liv handled the whole situation nor with her character development at the end. If the big plot was something different, I would've loved this whole book. The romance was really romantic and I loved watching these two become better people and better versions of themselves. I just wish the whole predator storyline was handled better.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Berkley through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.*

The premise of the Bromance Book Club series is just so much fun and I'm not-so-secretly hoping one actually exists in real life. I really do believe everyone should be reading romance and these guys certainly would agree. In Undercover Bromance, Braden Mack is inspired by the romantic suspense novel the club is reading. He wants to use it to help out Liv Papandreas, a talented sous chef who was working at Nashville's hottest restaurant. That is, until she caught the chef owner harassing a young hostess and is subsequently fired. She enlists Braden, who is a nightclub entrepreneur himself, to expose her ex-boss, but along the way their antagonistic (at least on her side) business arrangement makes way to something more. The story is told in alternating point-of-views and I enjoyed both. They clearly had different approaches to love and relationships which made their pairing so great. I definitely loved them together and how their friends and family meddled in ways that made me laugh. But what I appreciated most was the conversations sparked by the situation they were dealing it. Even more so than the previous book, the commentary on gender roles, consent, and how things have (or sadly, haven't) changed was well-said. What didn't work for me at times was Liv's attitude throughout the book (granted, she does experience character growth) and how the situation in general was handled at times.

Do I recommend? The first book is still my favorite of the series but I enjoyed this too! I'm looking forward to book three.

This is the 2nd book in the Bromance Book Club. This book centers on Braden Mack, the founder of the Bromance Book Club and his drive to finally have a real girlfriend and a meaningful relationship. To get what he has always wanted, he has to finally learn the lessons of the "manuals" as he calls them. This time the Bromance Book Club is ready to help him. Is he ready to shut up and listen? This book is just as funny as the first book, if not funnier! All the familiar faces are here along with a few more! I can't wait for book 3!

I really enjoyed the Bromance Book Club. When I saw that Mack was getting his own story, I was thrilled. I love a good snarky leading man and that's Mack in a nutshell. Liv is the perfect pairing for him! She has plenty of sass and is fiercely independent. She makes it quite clear that she doesn't need help from anyone; she's tough on the outside but has the biggest heart.

I wasn't expecting UNDERCOVER BROMANCE to have the heavy underlying plot line that it did. I think the author did a good job of spotlighting a huge injustice that not enough people talk about. The thing that I liked most about the first book were the references to the book they were reading for book club. I found myself missing them in this one. I'm not sure that I would call this story an enemies-to-lovers or even a friends-to-lovers, but no matter what it is, I had fun!

Overall, this was another great read and I'm looking forward to what the author has in store for the subsequent books.

Undercover Bromance is book number two in the series written by Lyssa Kay Adams. This book brings back the characters from the first novel in the series but focuses more on Mack. Fans of the first book will enjoy this new addition to the series. It's definitely a heart pleaser for fans of the romance genre but with an aim towards the me too movement as well. Read and enjoy!

UNDERCOVER BROMANCE is a fast-paced read and not at all what I was expecting. Big, burly, successful men who are in a bromance book club had me laughing out loud at times. This is the second book in the BROMANCE BOOK CLUB series, and even though I haven’t read the first book yet, I didn’t feel lost. This is Mack and Liv’s story and oh, what a story it is!

Liv is a pastry chef at a restaurant in Nashville that is owned by a celebrity chef. The chef is also a reality TV star who screams at, ridicules, and embarrasses his staff. But that’s not all he does, and it isn’t pretty. When Liv finds herself in an awkward position and is fired when she speaks up, she’s surprised at the help she receives.

She and Mack know each other only through her sister’s husband, and Liv is shocked that Mack is willing to help take her ex-boss on. Especially because she thinks Mack and Royce are friends.

The book club, its members, and its books play a major role in the story. Liv’s friends and family are funny. The farm she lives on is a hoot, complete with a man-hating rooster and a hippie landlord.

UNDERCOVER BROMANCE has plenty of laughs and is filled with family and friends. The characters have you rooting for them, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There’s a nice closure with an epilogue that takes place six months after the story ends. The cover is spot on. I look forward to reading more in this series!

Ms. Adams is new to me, and I look forward to reading more of her books.

*I read book 2 before I read book 1.

I love the premise of a Bromance Book Club, where men read and discuss romance novels. In this, one of the founding book club members has his chance at a relationship. There is also a huge revenge story which dtove the two MCs together. This is a enemies-to-lovers / light suspense contemporary. The suspense subplot, in which I was much more interested in than the romance aspect, was resolved with much less justice that I wanted, so was rather an unsatisfactory outcome.

I loved the premise and the idea of the novel, but was let down by the execution. I did not like the writing repeatedly defining a character as having a strong belief or character trait, only to have exceptions constantly shown for effect. Also, I did not find the characters sympathetic or believable.

I will read book 1 and see if that changes how I felt about book 2.

Thank you to Berkley / NetGalley for an early digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
Trigger warnings: Sexual harassment, mention of domestic violence, bribes, verbal abuse.

This is the sequel to The Bromance Book Club, which I loved and still think about to this day. If I rated in half stars, this one would probably be a 3.5 or 3.75.

This one is about Thea’s sister, Olivia (Liv), and the creator of the Bromance Book Club, Braden Mack. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Liv in the first book, and she didn’t really redeem herself in this one. I understand the trauma in her past has a lot to do with how stubborn and standoffish she is in the present. I don’t hate her for that. I never had those issues in my life, so I can’t relate to her all that much. I guess that’s part of the reason I don’t find her a favorite of mine.
She worked at a restaurant named Savoy, which was run by a monster of a man, Royce Preston. He was buddy-buddy with Mack, but behind closed doors it was a different story for his employees.

Braden on the other hand is a different story. He tries so hard to get himself a girl, but there are always bets on how long he can keep her. Braden and Liv meet briefly in the first book, but it wasn’t positive by any means. The second time they run in to each other, Liv gets fired from her job as a pastry chef. It’s a brutal take-off for them, but they somehow manage to at least stand each other’s presence. Braden has some secrets too, but we don’t actually learn what they are until the very end. Until then, all we know is that he is lying to Liv, and Liv HATES liars. Is she always telling the truth, though?

My favorite character was definitely Braden. I loved how much he loved Liv. He always wanted to get to know her. He tried to make it up to her after she was fired from Savoy. He always had good intentions, and he always let Liv be herself, even though she was so hard to get through to.

The whole plot of the book is to seek revenge on Royce for doing what he did to the women that worked for him. Which was interesting, but it took up the better part of the novel. He needed to be stopped, and I’m glad the characters knew it was a problem, but I wanted more of what the first book had. I wanted more book club. This definitely didn’t have enough of that. The author also left out the excerpts from the fake novel, which I’m actually happy about. I didn’t find those very interesting, anyway.
There is an epilogue to "wrap things up", but I didn't find it all that necessary.

I will definitely be continuing on with the series. The next book is called Crazy Stupid Bromance, and it’s about Liv’s friend Alexis. Even though this one wasn’t a favorite, I still had so much fun reading it. I recommend it if you’re looking for a fun adventure.

Seriously great follow up to one of my favourite rom-com's. The dynamic between Mack and Liv was fantastic. I love strong female leads and this book delivers on that for sure.

The second installment of this series was too funny. I think it's interesting she decided to put two characters together who have such similar issues. I love a good enemies-to-lovers story, and this one delivers.

I received an ARC from Penguin Random House Canada and Berkley Romance for review.

After falling in love with The Bromance Book Club, I really wanted to read this one. I didn't know what I was walking into but I didn't expect this. The book discussed many important themes like how people tend to abuse their powers and manipulate people under them in workplaces to sexual harassment to victim blaming. It included strong female characters who knew they could take care of things themselves.

However, this book was a disappointment in terms of the romance. I did not care for this couple. I especially didn't care for the female character who was sassy and rude for no reason, giving everyone a hard time just so she can be the quirky sassy one in the group. I didn't think the male character was any better as he preached to everyone how good he was at romance and how he wanted to fall in love but he treated females like something he could figure out because he had romance novels and they were his instruction manuals to them. Of course, Lyssa did a great job at making sure this point is clear. Females do not have instruction manuals. He grew and understood this.

This book was clever as it focused on the romantic suspense genre. We got to see how our characters took down a villain and it was great but again, the couple lacked. I did not care.

I became a huge fan of Lyssa Kay Adams, when I read The Bromance Bookclub. I was so excited to receive a review copy (e-arc) via Netgalley of Undercover Bromance, especially since I loved the first book so much. Lyssa did an amazing job once again, writing her characters so that you enjoy reading about them. I liked the beginning half of this book, but then kind of lost the last half. I think the main reason is because I didn't relate to Liv as a character at all, because I just am not that type of spunky person. She was fun to read about in the beginning, but I just loved Thea from the first book so much! I did enjoy Mack, but again, Gavin is my all time favorite male character, and you don't see much of Gavin or Thea in this book.
The sexual harassment segment of this story, was way more involved than I anticipated, and I felt like this turned the book into a cheesy thriller/comedy movie. We read about the problem throughout the whole book, and then it was conveniently solved at the end. I just don't think this book's story line was for me (its semi-hate to love), and I'm not a huge fan of that trope.
However, I do still think this was a cute read, and I love the way Lyssa Kay Adams writes - her books are so easy to read and get into, and just make you feel good.

4.5 Stars
I was so excited to get another book in the Bromance Book Club. I knew after reading the first book in the series I was going to need the second book. Undercover Bromance was just as good and such a fun quick read.
I love how we there is a mans book club instead of your traditional woman's. We get the Braden's story the leader of the book club. He is everything a girl could ask for, loves romance and is fun loving. He can't figure out why he can't seem to keep a girlfriend.

Liv was a character that was hard to figure out at first. Once we get to know her more you start to understand her more. She has trust issues. After finding her boss sexually harassing an employee she gets fired. I liked Liv's character even more after all that went down.

This was such a good book that touched on some touchy subjects and was well written. I am really enjoying this series and all the characters. This is such fun series. If you are looking for something that will keep you entertained look no further. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Undercover Bromance is an adult romantic comedy by Lyssa Kay Adams. It is the second book in the Bromance Book club series, but it can be read as a complete standalone novel. Which is what I did. I have not read book one yet, but after how much I enjoyed Undercover Bromance, I know it is only a matter of time before I grab a copy of book one for myself so I can read it. I really enjoyed Undercover Bromance. It is a cute and fun read, with a great message of a group of people teaming up to take down an authority figure that was abusing his position of power and harassing women in his workplace.

In Undercover Bromance we meet our two main characters, Liv and Braden, who goes by his last name Mack. Mack is a serial monogamist. He loves romances and loves love, but he can never keep a girl friend for too long. He is a romantic player. I loved how romantic he was. In fact, I loved that about him way more than our main heroine Liv did. She found Mack downright eye roll worthy, which made their interactions much more fun for me.

Liv is a pastry chef that gets fired from her jerk of a boss, and in the process she discovers that he is more than just a jerk. He is sexually harassing the women in his restaurant. For the rest of the novel, Liv reluctantly teams up with Mack to try and take her former boss down. I really enjoyed both the plot and the romance between Liv and Mack. Mack’s favorite book trope is enemies to lovers, and he found himself in a real life enemies to lovers relationship. I love Mack. He is such a sweetie pie! And all of the other members of the bromance book club are great. They have a wonderful dynamic and I can’t wait to read Gavin’s story (from book one) and the rest of the guys stories as well. Especially the Russian.

Overall, if you are a fan of witty romantic comedies with a great cast of characters, Undercover Bromance is a perfect feel good read. I loved it!

After reading the first book, Bromance Bookclub, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one.

I was excited for Mack's story but Liv didn't leave a great impression from the last book. Her stubbornness definitely lives on in this one.

I have to say Undercover Bromance wasn't quite as good as the first, but I still enjoyed it and can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the club!

Undercover Bromance made me laugh out loud several times. I loved the Bromance Book Club members going in undercover to out a serial sexual abuser.

I did not love Liv's character. I felt like the reasons for her being SO AFRAID of trust were kinda overblown. (Or at least, I think she overreacted to Mack's revelation.) But I liked her and Mack as a couple, and overall the book was fun.

Undercover Bromance is the 2nd book in the Bromance Book Club series. Mack, the nightlife king of Nashville, knows all about romancing a lady. However, he doesn't understand love. Mack's brashness was a little over the top at times, but he has some deep hurt that he has been hiding for years. As he opens up, he becomes less fun time guy and more grown up man.

Liv is Thea's sister (from The Bromance Book Club) and is a pastry chef. After discovering her boss was sexually harrassing coworkers, she is fired. Liv being the no nonsense woman she is, won't just let it go. She is determined to prove that her boss is deserves to be in prison.

Liv and Mack have a touch of hate-to-love-to-hate-to-love vibe. Liv is a justice warrior and she sees the world in black and white. Lying is bad, period. Mack has spend his life lying about his father. You can imagine that just as these two start to fall in love, that lie comes out and it's back to hate. These two have lots of great banter-they love to argue!

Liv's fervent desire to ensure that no other women suffer at her former boss's hands was probably my favorite part of this story. Even the girl who was assaulted didn't want to press charges, but Liv can't let this go. The empowerment that Liv pushes for in Undercover Bromance is such a great message.

Of course, there are the bromance bookclub guys to provide support, a bit of comic relief, and, when necessary, muscles! Undercover Bromance (and the whole series) is a perfect blend of tough topics and funny events.
