This was so stinkin' cute I don't have words for it. O'Neill had me at "axolotl," obvs, but I am so glad I read this book. It's a sweet story about friendship and believing in yourself and I plan to get a hard copy and read it with my 3-year-old. The art is beyond adorable. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the free e-ARC in exchange for this honest review.

Absolutely adorable art style and characters. Would I buy this for my nephews? Yes I would.
I'd recommend this one for small children up to the age of 4.

The animals want to have a sports competition, but they aren't feeling good about themselves. Mia the turtle doesn't think she can do as well as the other athletes. The fish worry that their food won't be good enough to serve, and Newman is having trouble writing a song for the event.

Little social butterfly that Dewdrop is, they go to each person in turn to give them confidence in themselves.

Simple story, nicely told, with bright colors and the lovely characters that this author is soo good at drawing.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

The sweetest most adorable book ever! Love Dewdrop and the rest of her friends. The lesson is easy for little ones to understand. I will be adding this to my preschool library! I will be looking for the rest of Katie O'Neill's books. I am honored to have read this one.

The moral was great and the illustrations are memorable but I'm not overly in love with it. The comic like aspect underwhelmed. The colors are bright and the ending was cute though...

Oh my gosh this was absolutely adorable and wholesome! It's completely what you need to read if you're feeling a bit low; if you need a little reminder that giving your personal best is all you can do, that comparing yourself to other people will bring nothing. It's just such a pure story. Even just the art style makes this story worth the read.

This book has been sent to me to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

What a beautiful, heart warming and heart melting story this is! My daughter adores Dewdrop and I've fallen in love with her precious selfless little heart too.

Dewdrop and her friends can't wait for sports day, but as it approaches, Dewdrops friends start doubting themselves and fearing what they do isn't good enough. Dewdrop takes time to visit each friend to help and support them and make them realise how special they are no matter who they are or what they do.
This book is so full of little hidden meanings and beautiful quotes that really do warm your heart.

Katie O'Neill can do no wrong. Dewdrop is just the most adorable young graphic novel about being a good friend and understanding that you have you don't need to judge yourself against other people or their expectations. I already had a copy in a cart to purchase, but I'll definitely be buying more than one copy because it will check out for sheer cuteness and I think kids need books like this.

As normal with Katie O'Neill , This was precious and beautiful. The story focused on being yourself and helping others and that was done with the beautiful drawings and colours.
I recommend this especially for little children.I think I will read everything the author does even if it isn't in my typical age range.

I absolutely adore Katie O'Neill's illustrations, and Dewdrop is no different! The story is super cute, promoting kindness and not judging yourself against other people... all through a very tiny cheerleading axolotl! This kids book is great gift for any children who (like me) are perfectionists that need a reminder that your accomplishments are always something to be proud of and that everyone has unique skills that they bring to our community. The coloring is bright and encouraging and will be immediately familiar to and loved by fans of the Tea Dragon Society.

I love Katie O'Neill's work as an illustrator and graphic novelist, and "Dewdrop" only made me cherish her even more. This story follows an adorable axolotl, Dewdrop, and her friends as they prepare for and compete in their pond's festive sports fair. Dewdrop's friends are clearly passionate about their own unique talents and interests but eventually begin struggling with feelings of self-doubt and insecurity as they assess the competition. Sound familiar? After noticing her friends' behavior, Dewdrop comes along and reminds them of what really matters.

"Dewdrop" is an uplifting and encouraging story for readers of all ages. I can't wait to purchase my own copy!

Great kids book. THis one is a lot shorter than her usual books but Katie O'Neill is a great storyteller. I will definitely be buying this for my future child

This little graphic novel about an axolotl is pretty cute. Dewdrop and his friends are excited for the sports fair. But as each gets ready to play their part--whether that's weightlifting, singing, or cooking--they experience doubts about their skills. It isn't until Dewdrop reminds them of what's really important that they find the courage to just do their best.

The story is very simple, and the book reads as though it's for very young children. Which is fine! Little kids will probably love the cute little critters, which are rendered in colourful settings that are easy on the eyes. I noticed a few issues with punctuation, which is perhaps forgivable given the graphic-novel format. (The typo "yesteray"... not so much.)

Overall, I think this a pretty decent book for kids with a nice message and appealing pictures. I've yet to read any of Katie O'Neill's longer works, but if Dewdrop is representative of her style, then I think I might enjoy them.

**I was provided an electronic ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for honest review.**

In Dewdrop, Katie O'Neill brings us a children's graphic novel surrounding our titular character, Dewdrop the axolotl, and his town's preparations for the sports fair. There is a running message of the competition being with one self primarily, and enjoying what you are doing.

I have been a fan of Katie O'Neill for some time now, and I just absolutely love her art style. I also enjoy that she frequently has themes of acceptance and various types of representation in her graphic novels. One of the things in this vein that stood out was that a female turtle character was the one competing in the weight lifting competition, which I would have loved to see as a child.

Overall, I find that all of Katie O'Neill's graphic novels have a wonderful positivity, brightness, and feel-good quality coupled with her beautiful artwork and use of color. While this isn't my absolute favorite of all of the graphic novels by this author, it certainly features all of the things that make me recommend Katie O'Neill's work again and again.

I love reading books for little children because they are so cute and they always make me happy. And Dewdrop is one of them. It is a lovely story about friendship and how you should trust yourself. I love the illustrations, they all are really cute.

It is a perfect book for children and I can't wait to read it with my baby. Everybody will fall in love with Dewdrop.

Dewdrop is so sweet and heartwarming! I love all of Katie O'Neill's comics and her beautiful art and Dewdrops fits right in with the rest.
Dewdrop is a short story which seems to be aimed at a younger audience (nothing wrong with that! I love it anyway) about Dewdrops and their friends getting ready for a Sports Fair. Everyone faces doubts and insecurities but Dewdrop with their endless positivity and kindness helps everyone strive to do their best and overcome their negativity!

Highly recommend Dewdrops for it's adorable art and story and especially for Dewdrop who us the cutest!

* I was sent an arc copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. *

I have absolutely loved Katie O'Neill's other graphic novels previously, so I was excited to have received an arc copy from Netgalley. And can I say how does she keep creating such adorable and loveable characters! Dewdrop is a story about a group of water-dwelling animals getting ready for their sports festival, three of them get nervous about their roles. With the help of their friend Dewdrop, a cheery axolotl, they are able to gain the self-confidence to follow through with the activities of the festival.

Dewdrop reads a bit for the younger readers, compared to her other titles, but still was as enjoyable and more to read. I feel everyone needs a friend like Dewdrop no matter how old a person may be. I highly recommend reading to the youngster or just checking out yourself.

A lovely little story to cheer up kids when they become over conscious about themselves. The message is to just enjoy yourself then getting worried. Dewdrop is a must and fun read!
