This is a cute story about a little axolotle who helps cheer her friends on and support them. Good for younger children!

I just reviewed Dewdrop by Katie O'Neill. #Dewdrop #NetGalley

It's a good book that reminds me to do good to others. We might not have their talents, but we sure do can cheer people up, and make a difference.

“I will bravely volunteer to lay my life on the line... and taste test or you!”

This book was so cute. The message, the art, the characters. I smiled the whole time. Definitely going to be adding this to my Katie O’neill collection to read and reread.

Katie O'Neill's books are utterly charming, and her first picture book is no different. This book follows an axolotl named Dewdrop, who lives in a pond with his friends. Dewdrop is excited about the upcoming sports fair, but he notices that his friends don't seem to share in his joy. They're all nervous that they won't be able to perform their best. Dewdrop comes to the rescue with encouragement, support, and kind words. Readers of all ages will enjoy the message of this book, as well as the colorful and enchanting artwork!

This was a super short and sweet graphic novel. I love O'Neill's art, it always makes me feel like I've been transported to a beautiful, magical place. I like the friendship in this story. I appreciate that it's an easier graphic novel because the younger readers like graphic novels but there aren't a lot for them. I'd hand this to 2nd-3rd graders looking for a quick, gentle story.

I love Katie O'Neills art and Axolotls! So receiving an eARC of this book made me really happy. As expected, the book isn't very long and is intended for people that are much much younger than I am. Nevertheless it holds some very important lessons that I think a lot of young kids could and should learn. And it's brought so easily aswell! Definitely one of my favourites again.

Dewdrop and her friends decide to enter the Sports Fair and they are all nervous to do so. The friends begin practicing and working on their plans, but nothing seems good enough and they aren't sure it is even worth it to enter. Then Dewdrop wanders around encouraging everyone and they all remember that all they can do is their best.
I love Dewdrop the little axolotl and find the illustrations to be quite endearing!

"The only person I need to compete with is myself, and try to do better than I did yesterday."

Katie O'Neill's art work is phenomenal as always. This graphic novel is intended for a significantly younger audience than her other ones, but it's still very much enjoyable for older readers as well. It's about the power of friendship, being supportive of other people, and believing in yourself, which is a wonderful and necessary message for every age group. This definitely cheered me up.

I love Katie O'Neill's artwork, but most importantly I love the messages ALL her books promote. Here it's about doing the best you can and not comparing yourself to others but comparing yourself to yourself and making you happy. Dewdrop is the kind of cheerleader we all need in our lives, especially if we are prone to being hard on ourselves. I can't help but think of the advice that Michael recently gave on an episode of The Good Place. "What matters isn't if people are good or bad. What matters is if they're trying to be better today than they were yesterday." Let's all try to be better and encourage each other and not set unrealistic goals. Embrace Dewdrop's philosophy and infections joy!

This was pretty cute but there actually wasn’t much story too it, I’m not sure whether this is the whole story or whether more is going to be added. As it is it’s a nice story to read to a toddler but it felt quite underdeveloped to me.

I'm still smiling hours after finishing this. This was such a cute, encouraging and colorful book, perfect for younger readers who might feel like they can't keep up with the expectations they place on themselves. In a world filled with negativity, Dewdrop made everything a bit better!

When I heard this was from the same people that did the little Tea Dragon book that was in one of my Owlcrate's I was like YES GIVE ME!!! This was the cutest little story. It shows kids to be who they are not who others want them to be. To just try their best and everything will work out. I finished this in a few minutes and I loved every minute of it!

Go Into This One Knowing: Adorable!!

I know this is a children book, but at this point I would read literally anything that Katie O'Neill writes/draws. I just love her stories and her drawing style so much, they are always so cute!
This story has a lovely axolotl as the main character and it was all so sweet! It talks about how sometimes people can feel self-doubt and how the help of friends can help to overcome it, it's such a good and important message and the execution was brilliant as only Katie O'Neill is able to do.

#gifted: I obtained this book for free via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a tale from Katie O'Neill, who you may recognise as the author of The Tea Dragon Society graphic series.

This tells the story of Dewdrop and friends as they participate in the pond's annual sports fair.
Dewdrop is an enchanting main character! If I had to compare it to another book I'd say Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series! That said, it has a sparkle all it's own.

I adored the cute cover and illustrations inside. The narrative is strong, cleverly juxtaposing ideas: Helping others and individuality.
It's great for children, but would resonate with mature readers too!

For such a short tale it packs a big heart BOOM!

OKAY. My heart!!!
This gorgeously illustrated story about kindness and friendship, so perfect for kids (and kids at heart), has touched me for real. It’s about 40 pages long and I CRIED. Not because I was sad, but because I felt so much love radiating from this story. This was so... WHOLESOME! I literally feel so giddy and fuzzy and warm inside. This beautiful graphic novel feels like a big hug from mom. Or like chicken soup from grandma. Or like playing all day long at school. I don’t even know how to put into words how good is this gem. I just know that I want to read it at least once every day for the rest of my life. My heart is full.

Please: Do yourself a favor and read it. And also read it to all the kids in your life. You won’t regret it.

As always the art in this is beautiful. You cannot go wrong with a Katie O'Neill book. The message delivered in this is so important and I think every child can benefit from reading this book. Probably alot of adults too. Great look at friendship and the impact you can have on others to help them be themselves. Just fab.

I think at this point I can read anything by Katie O’Neill and be instantly delighted! Her art style is not only extremely gorgeous, her stories are so sweet and make you feel so warm inside! I wish I had a kid so I could buy this book for them! Would highly recommend to parents and I may just go out and get a copy for myself just because of how beautiful it is!

I am also a huge advocate for getting children into comics, and this is the perfect gateway book! It’s part picture book and part comic it’s the perfect blend for young readers! I can’t wait to see what Katie O’Neill does next!

Dewdrop by Katie O'Neill is an absolutely delightful picture book about an axolotl, named Dewdrop, who cheers on his friends when they're feeling down, and it. Is. ADORABLE! Let's be honest, is this the most life changing picture book your children are ever going to read? No. But it does share some really great messages about self esteem that I think are incredibly important for children to read about. If I'm being completely honest, based on the story itself, this book was probably more of a four stars read for me, but I can't imagine giving one of Katie O'Neill's books anything less than five stars. Her artwork is just so incredible and cute! I am definitely going to be adding this book to my Amazon wish list in hopes that I can one day add a copy to my classroom library!
