This was a very different book for me I liked the James Regan character who was torn about being home and leaving for the mission. But his partner Roger Morgan is not a good fellow and when the story takes a turn I was turned off. I did finish it and then waited and read it again and got the same feeling as before just felt off about the whole thing.

Wow! Did not see that coming.
It's atypical novel about military combat, until it's not. Dont worry I won't spoil it. It's a well written British novel. I would definitely read more from this author.

The story was not complete. The last chapter I had was where the Russians were introduced to the story. Seems that this would be a good story but I could not say based on what I had to read.
