Oh my goodness, where to begin! This was an amazing read. Let me start there. Even without all of the suspense it would have been awesome. Marlowe is a Colton and Bowie is her archical. Not even just hers, their fathers have been rivals for years. So you know they are the last couple that should end up together. Yet, for one night they let everything go and find themselves in each other's arms. A night that is the just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Colton family problems.
Their night together has left Marlowe pregnant and as she begins to wrap her head around that her family is dropped a bomb. One member of the family isn't actually a member of the family. Bowie has his own issues and thinking Marlowe is behind them he confronts her only to discover that she is pregnant.
Sounds like a lot right? Well there also the matter of someone trying to kill one or the both of them that needs to be resolved as well. We are left with a bit of cliffhanger but not in Marlowe and Bowie's relationship. It's more about the family issues which is something that will carry over into other books.
Two characters I didn't like Payne, Marlowe's father, although he does redeem himself a bit by the end, and Selina her ex-stepmother. This chick is one that I wanted to punch several times. I swear I think she is behind a whole of the mess but I'm also not sure because she almost seems too easy of culprit. If you like romance and suspense then this is the read for you. I enjoyed it so much that I actually purchased books two and three to find out what happens. I will give you those reviews so as I also have book four or five already on my schedule.

COLTON BABY CONSPIRACY is the first book in the COLTON’S OF MUSTANG VALLEY series. There are ten books scheduled for the series, and each one will be written by a different author. This book has a lot of story lines but not all reach closure, and there is a cliffhanger which definitely left me wanting more!
These are some of the plot lines in this romantic suspense, and each could have been a book unto itself—babies switched at birth, an unexpected pregnancy between arch-rivals, a stalker, and random shootings and their consequences. We are introduced to members of two family-owned companies, Colton Oil and the Robertson Renewable Energy Company, of which Marlowe and Bowie are the presidents of their respective family companies. Marlowe and Bowie have an unexpected attraction, and Bowie is definitely protective of Marlowe once they spend some time together.
The family dysfunction in Marlowe’s family was a little off-putting but did stir my emotions. The story is packed with action and suspense. Decisions are made rationally (for the most part) but only when everyone focuses on the issues at hand. The characters have depth, though I had a hard time connecting to a few. The prologue sets the stage with a mystery to be solved but doesn’t get resolved in book one, which could be problematic for readers wanting a story with a solid ending. The epilogue adds more questions than answers but does give some closure to one of the stories.
Nicely done, but not resolved enough for me.
I rated the book 3.5 stars but rounded to 4 on this site and others.

🌞MY REVIEW🌞
Colton Baby Conspiracy
by Marie Ferrarella is
Book one in the The Coltons of Mustang Valley series. It is a fast paced short read that I was able to finish in a couple of hours. While I did find the story interesting I didn't really like either of the characters. This book is full of suspense, strong family ties, drama, action, and romance. Each book in this series is written by a different author so that is kind of interesting. Looking forward to getting to know these two families .
Many thanks to the Publisher , the Author , and NetGalley for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And as with any book you read PLEASE leave the author a REVIEW. Colton Baby Conspiracy by Marie Ferrarella is the first book in the Coltons of Mustang Valley series. This is a Mills & Boon Romantic Suspense: Heart-racing suspense, adventure and romance under extraordinary circumstances.
Marlowe Colton is president of her family’s oil business and is working toward new innovations in the industry. Her plans may be derailed by a one-night stand with Bowie Robertson, the son of her father’s arch rival, and a suspicious email that rocks her and her family to their core.
Colton Baby Conspiracy is an entertaining read and serves as a perfect introduction to some of the characters in the series. The characters in this installment are vibrant and fully-developed. The plot is interesting and holds the reader’s attention. The romance is intense and believable. The ending is satisfying and the perfect lead-in to the next novel in the series. I give it 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.
My thanks to HARLEQUIN – Romance (US & Canada) and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Marlowe and Bowie are arch rivals that want nothing to do with eachother. That is until one night that changed everything and now they are expecting a child. If that wasn't enough there's a threating email, and a stalker issue.
Oh geeze with the way this book just ended, I'm gonna need the next one asap.
There is so much to love about this book, from the characters to the family drama and the threatening messages. Its enough to keep the readers on their toes wondering what would happen next. I loved that there was so much going on and never a dull moment. In fact because of that reason I found it hard to put this book down. I loved that bit of romance between the two. I loved seeing the family drama and watching things unfold. Then there was the creepy messages that made the characters feel unsafe and with the baby on the way they really can't take any chances! Overall loved the book can't wait to see whats in store in the next book.

The Colton and Robertson families have been rivals for decades. However, that doesn't stop Marlowe Colton and Bowie Robertson having a passionate one night stand . . . . and there are consequences. On the day six weeks later that she discovers that she really is pregnant, an email threat to her family firm is received and, for the first time since that night, Bowie dares to come to her office to accuse her of threatening his life! This is just the start of this action packed romantic suspense which has the Colton family falling apart as questions are raised about Marlowe's big brother, Ace, and she is shot at. With their lives in danger from unknown sources, Bowie and Marlow need to work together to keep themselves and their unborn child safe. Will this help mend the rift between the families or will they end up like Romeo and Juliet - if their attacker doesn't get to them first?
This is a well paced start to a new series. The family history is interwoven in the story so you get the feel of them all and hints at things to come. I enjoyed the enemies to lovers romance as it continued to develop and the ending left me looking forward to reading the second and subsequent books in the series when they are available!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so.

4 1/2 STARS!
The beloved Coltons are getting another spin-off series The Coltons of Mustang Valley and Marie Ferrarella is kicking it off with COLTON BABY CONSPIRACY. It was a fast read with a delectable forbidden romance holding the limelight as suspense begins to build around every corner. I really enjoyed it!
Marlowe Colton receives shocking news that is threatening to split her beloved family apart at the seams just as she realizes she's pregnant from a one night stand with the enemy. She knows she has to buckle down and stop the madness happening around her before it can reek more damage, but danger starts lurking at her door just as the man she shouldn't want comes knocking.
Bowie Robertson isn't about to let their family feud keep him away from his unborn child once he learns there is one. He's determined to keep Marlowe safe from the lurking danger and keep her sane as she works on her family dynamics.
This book set up a good family history to get us started on the books to come and after the ending of this one, I'm especially looking forward to nabbing book two! Really enjoying this leg of the Coltons so far.

This was a fast read that I ended up loving. I loved that it was under 300 pages and I could get through it in about 2 hours or so. I loved the characters and the story and I really thought it was interesting that book two isn't from the same author. That is something I haven't encountered before!! I finished this all in one setting and loved the pace and the story and the characters!

Received a free copy from Publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
One of my pet peeves is weak, doormat heroines and asshole Heroes which I found both to be and very unlikable. If one doesn't like that characters, they can't get invested in their story.

I love Marie Ferrarella books. They're a simple read that doesn't take too long to dive into the plot and enjoy the characters. However, in this book, I found that some of the character traits that defined Marlowe were contradicted by her actions. She an executive in her family's corporation. To me that means, she plans ahead and can easily find solutions to problems that may crop up at work. Her reaction to events that changed her own life, seemed to contradict this making me question her choices. The character development started to happen from the beginning rather than later, which is interesting as it made me wonder if the pace of the book was supposed to be fast from the get go or if there were more details being left out and the story was being condensed to fit the typical short Harlequin romance template. I did enjoy Bowie as his character seemed pretty much the same throughout the story and only at the end did he change. There was a mini plot twist at the end but I felt that it was handled poorly as the images portrayed throughout the story didn't match the ending (sorry, not going to give you any spoilers here). There may be more to this as it is part of series. Guess I'll just have to read the other books to see if my theories pan out. You'll like this book for the quick read that it is.
