This is a fun, fast-paced mystery with interesting characters, a beautiful coastal community setting, delicious food descriptions at Marley;s Flip Side restaurant and with an ending you will not see coming plus a wedding! Marley is delighted that the state-wide Golden Oldies athletic competition is coming to town because it means more business for her cafe. But when two competitors are found dead - one a beloved member of the games and one a nasty reporter, Marley is convinced that the two deaths are related and, at considerable personal peril, she is proven right.

I enjoyed this book although I felt that it was overly long in places. The investigation didn't seem to go anywhere, the main character kind of fell into the murderer. But it was well-paced and interesting. The characters were fun and the golden seniors are an inspiration. #MuchAdoaboutNutmeg #NetGalley

arley McKinney is busy running her pancake place and planning her beach wedding during tourist season. One of her regulars is in a sporting event for over 50’s as she wants to cheer them on. Everything seems to be going smoothly until a sport reporter seems to start trouble.

Not surprisingly a body is washed up on shore and it is the sports reporter. It will be up to Marley and Ed Herman an admirer of the reporter to figure who killed her. But then another body is found as they must quickly find the killer before more people die in between wedding preparations.

It is a charming cozy read.

When a nasty reporter covering the Golden Oldies competition turns up stabbed through the heart Marley can't help herself but investigate. However her suspect list grows longer by the minute and so does the danger to her life. A poignant story of how the need for revenge can take away everything you hold dear. I couldn't help but feel very sorry for the murderer in the end.

When I started this, I was not aware that it was part of the series, but that makes sense background to the main characters – it does standalone, but I am sure it would be better if you were familiar with the previous books.
We join Marley McKinney in her Pancake Shop in a small town, that has been descended on by many visitors for the “Golden Oldies Games”
When a gentleman falls overboard from a boat, it is seen as an unfortunate accident – until a females body is found on the beach ... our heroine soon becomes a sleuth, trying to uncover what happened ... when she is involved in a minor accident (was she pushed?), she has to question whether she will become the murderers next victim if she continues ...

It is a perfectly acceptable cozy mystery but nothing special - the writing style is primarily conversation with very little description. I’m afraid it didn’t work so well for me.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book via NetGalley. All opinions on my own.

I think this is a fun, well written series with awesome characters (human and pets!) and a great small town atmosphere. In this one, Marley is continuing to run her pancake house and preparing for her wedding to Brett, but then a sports reporter who seemed to want to cause some trouble is found dead.

This book, and series, hits all the right points for me for a cozy. The main character, Marley, is great without going overboard as an amateur sleuth. I love both Marley and Brett as a believable relationship, and the ending of this book is perfect for them. I love Flapjack in particular, probably because I'm a cat cozy kind of reader. Great series if you like cozies!

This is the first I've read in this series and it's fine as a stand-alone. The setting is quaint but had me craving pancakes way too much! I would read others in the series.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Always enjoyable to get back into Marley's world with Flip Side pancake house and she's as busy as ever with tourists, wedding plans, and cheering a friend on while trying to solve the murder mystery. A great addition.

This is a fun and colorful cozy mystery. It's packed with mouthwatering foods, delightful characters and an exciting mystery as well.
Marley is busy preparing for her wedding, but when murder strikes her cozy town, she can't resist putting on her sleuthing cap and digging for answers.
This book should be on every mystery lovers TBR pile.

The Golden Oldies Games are being held in Wildwood Cove and the senior athletes have arrived. When an athlete is lost overboard on his yacht and a journalist is murdered, Marley McKinney can’t help but wonder what happened in her quaint town. As if planning her wedding and running her restaurant, the Flip Side, isn’t enough for her, she adds sleuthing to the to do list.

When them murderer thinks Marley is too close to discovering them, they push Marley into the road and she is hit by a cyclist. While deterred for a few days, Marley can’t help herself and continues to look for the murderer. Will Marley make it down the aisle or will she be the murderer’s next victim?

This is the first book I have read in this series and it works fine as a stand alone. The setting is serene and you can almost hear the surf and smell the salt air. I will be reading more in this series.
