Another great read by Ms. Knight. This is Charlottle and Donnie's story and it did not disappoint. Filled with action, suspense, and a great love story makes it an awesome read. Enjoyed it!

What a read, a read that had my heart pounding and glued to every page as Donnie, an MIT operative goes to Malta when Charlie, a woman who is linked to him through one of his friends in the MIT, needs his help after she is attacked. They have a hate/lust relationship and seem to bring out the worst in each other. But as they run from whoever is hunting her, the two find a medium and their hate turns to more...more than either of them ever expected.
OH MY this is a definite must in the read category if you’re looking for amazing characters, steam...ahem...steam, banter that is spot on, descriptions that make it seem like you are right there, suspense and action that had my heart pounding and a twist in the end I didn’t see coming. This author took me for a ride that I didn’t want to get off of with strong characters in Donnie and Charlie, a man who is lethal in more ways than one and a woman who can hold her own against anyone and want to be best friends with....I couldn’t get enough and I can’t wait to delve into the other books in this series.

This was definitely an action packed read but the romance part of it fell flat for me. It just had too many of my pet peeves in romance. The Male MC is a grieving widow who isn't emotionally ready or willing to move on. He punishes the heroine to protect him self (which is a huge cop out!) and throwing a surprise pregnancy and near death experience to bring him around to finally admitting his feelings for Charlie didn't jive.

This was headed to a 1 star rating but I'll admit that Donnie's grand gesture at the end won him some brownie points. Not enough to make me forget or forgive all the hot/cold - back and forth drama he causes but I didn't end up completely hating him. That's something.

Charlie was a bit too OTT snarky at times but I liked her confident attitude. Especially after learning her history. She was a total bad ass and I was happy she finally got her man. Why she was so hung up on Donnie, I still don't fully understand but to each there own.

Special mention to Razur. I actually liked this anti-hero way more than Donnie. I was sad to see him go!

Quick read filled with suspense, love and adventure.
This was my first book by Louise Dawn, and I am looking forward to reading more.
Charlie stays by her father's side as he lays dying, having little use for her mother who fled years ago. When Charlie sets off on an adventure into Matla, she finds that someone is out to kill her. With the help of Donnie, who is not only an agent, but the man Charlie loves, she fights to find out who is targeting her and why. Sadly, he has closed himself off from love when his wife dies. But when the killer finally catches up with Charlie, will Donnie realize that love can come twice in a lifetime? Will Charlie survive long enough to find out?
Quick, easy read. Truly enjoyed it.

Fire in the knight is a very readable and exciting romantic thriller. After Charlie’s father a Wyoming farmer dies to cope with her grief Charlie and her friend travel to Malta and then plan to move on to North Africa with their dance group.
Whilst in Malta Charlie is assaulted but is able to fight back and prevent serious injury to herself. Donnie an extremely ‘hot’ commando agent of a specialist secret unit, on hearing of this assault he sets out to help. These two are extremely attracted to each other but Donny has tried keeping Charlie at arms length due to a tragedy in his past.
As the story progress they are in a fight for their lives, full of action and excitement the pace never slows down.
A really enjoyable read, great characters and lots of action. This is the third book in this series, not having read the first two is something I plan to rectify soon.

Fire in the Knight by Louise Brown is the third book in her Mobile Intelligence Team series and having read all but Stain on the Earth and I have to say that it's the best. This is Charlotte (Charlie) Quinn and Dave (Donnie) Wilson's story a Frenemy to lover romance.

Charlie Quinn stayed by her father's side even when her mom and brother left until he passes away from cancer. But when she decides to go to Malta and Morocco with her dance troupe but when someone tries to kill her it will be Donnie and all of the MIT teams who'll come to protect her in the enemy who may have been hired by someone she knows. A they escape from the desert will they find who put the hit out on her? Can two friends become more to each other even though they scared of Love?

Donnie Wilson is on leave from MIT 2 when he receives message from Charlie saying that someone is trying to kill her. Their first meeting didn't go well as he was still grieving the loss of his wife to breast cancer but now he knows if he hurts her that his team leader Jamie will kill him. But when the 'accidents' keep happening he won't hesitate to protect Charlie's from the hired killers. As they race to the exfil location it will be not only eye opening but he'll have to decide if he can fall in love again or will he let her go.

This is my first read by this author and I've now put the previous books on my TBR!

He lost his wife to breast cancer and he almost followed her into the darkness. He clawed his way back to life with the help of his friends. Whilst visiting Jamie at his ranch he meets Charlotte. Neighbour kid, treated as Jamie's little sister and a firecracker! She won't be swayed by anyone and let's just say there are sparks!

Charlotte likes to keep her problems private. But she takes things to another level! When her father des after a drawn out illness, he leaves her a planned tour through Europe and North Africa. Malta is pretty and she learns lots of things from the locals but she has also gained the notice of an assassin!

When Donnie ffinds out what is going on he and some of his team race to the rescue.

What a brilliant book. I really enjoyed the tense detente that Donnie and Charlie had! Lots of brilliant surprises along the way. Well worth a read!

What a great story! I've never read a book by Louise Dawn before, and I think I've been missing out. I do, however, read a lot of romance/suspense, so I can be a bit tough to please; I just know what I like.

Here we go on so many adventures, from a farm in Wyoming to Malta, Morocco, Nairobi, and beyond. A lot does happen to Charlie during all of this; she just has the worst luck, but she takes it all in stride. Donnie flies across the world at the drop of a hat to be with her when he fears something isn't quite right, and unbeknownst to him, steps into a war zone. Together, they must make it through jealousy, heartache, killers, and some surprise twists, to find their love.

My reason for giving this 4.5 stars is I had a hard time connecting with Charlie. She's a terrific heroine; strong, smart, and a survivor. At the beginning of the story, I had an image of her as a small town farm girl, but then suddenly, she's a dancer who is traveling the world. In my head, I had a hard time bringing these two personalities together.

This was my first read by this author and I loved it so much I went and bought the two previous books in the series So that will give you an idea of how much I loved this book

Donnie is a former green beret and technical specialist for the Mobile Intelligence unit He had love and lost it and doesn't believe that he will ever get or deserve a second love. He is attracted to Charlotte a #Wyoming farm girl he met but doesn't believe he deserves her but that doesn't mean that he can't keep an eye out for her. Charlotte is finally getting the chance to live her dancing dream after the death of her father and leaving the farm that meant long hours of back breaking work and she is enjoying travelling the world with the dance troupe. When she is attacked in Malta she turns to family friend Donnie for help as he looks in to the incident he realises that this is more than a random attack and rushes to Charlotte side. With danger stalking them can he keep her safe and will they both learn that love can blossom even when you are fighting against it.

Louise Dawn is able to write a story of characters that readers will want to read more of. The story works but is lacking the balance needed in Romantic Suspense series that readers need to find a complete story and connect with characters.

While this is the first in the series I have read I could be missing something the other two books had that would have had readers better connecting with characters.

The man and female lead work well together and the story flows well enough.
