This was a fun, clean read. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The characters were likeable and the contention between them was different from other books in the genere. It was a quick read, and I would recommend it to someone looking fora relaxing read. I look forward to reading more by Megan Walker.

This is a delightful, slow simmering, sweet romance! Amelia and Peter go from being strangers to enemies with the same goal in mind, their respective sisters each want to win the affection of the same man. Both Amelia and Peter desperately want their sisters to be happy. Over the course of a two week house party they develop from enemies to unlikely friends, but could these competitors ever dream of becoming more? Amelia is such a selfless sister, wanting Clara's happiness at the risk of her own. Peter's positive outlook wore down Amelia's competitive spirit, and as a reader I couldn't help falling a little bit in love with him every day of the house party along with Amelia!

I love all the proper romance books and loved the cover of this book. I was interested in the description of the book but this author is new to me.

I could NOT put this book down. It was so fun with new and different aspects to a Regency novel which must be hard to come up with new ideas. And full of swoon-worthy romance and laugh-out-loud scenes. I loved Peter from the moment we first met him. Amelia's concerns felt real and her loyalty to her sister was commendable but sometimes you just wanted to rattle her to see truth. The pacing was perfect and it leaves you wanting more to know what happens to other characters.

I feel so privileged to have received a copy of this book so early on, I'm truly disappointed that I have to wait 5 months for it to release before I can buy it in paperback and share it with all my friends.

Awesome, awesome sweet romance! I loved the slow suspense right up to the end. I'll be honest the synopsis gave away so much I felt there wasn't a lot of mystery, and I did have an idea of what would happen, but I got swept up in the story.. seriously, it is so good! I can't wait to read more of Walker's writing. This was phenomenal!!

I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for a fair review. All ideas and thoughts are my own.

Amelia Moore and her sister Clara are invited to a house party, and, desperate to be settled before their stepfather's impending death, which will leave them with nothing and no one to care for them, Amelia will do whatever she can to help Clara get a proposal from Sir Ronald. Unfortunately, the exceedingly annoying Peter Wood's sister Georgiana also wants to secure Sir Ronald's affections and will do anything he can to thwart Clara's and Amelia's efforts. In order to give Clara the chance to spend time with Sir Ronald, Amelia has to spend time with Peter--and as much as he initially irritates her, she soon finds there's more to him than she initially thought. But with their situation dire, Amelia can't be swayed by her heart and must stick to the practical plans that will give her and Clara the security they need, especially when an opportunity for Amelia to make a match arises, too.

I'm super excited for another great Proper Romance!
I loved seeing the interactions between Amelia and Peter--it was just great seeing how annoyed with him she was and that she had no idea he was totally falling for her. The romance was sweet and charming--oh, that Peter has some really good lines! I also liked (most of) the secondary characters; it was refreshing to read a Regency where most of the women were quite kind and not petty and belittling. The plot was great; it moved along well and was interesting. Fans of the Proper Romance series and Regency romances in general will not be disappointed!

4.5 stars.

I read an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This book is absolutely romantic, lovely, charming, witty, and sweet! Whenever I picked up "Lakeshire Park", I felt like I was being whisked back in time to the Regency Era, and was there watching everything unfold before my eyes.

Throughout the book, I felt very connected to everything going on. I could truly feel what various characters were feeling. I found myself laughing out loud at times, squealing at some moments, close to tears in others, and was so hoping for them to get their happy endings (no spoilers in the review!).

This book has so much in it: it is heartbreaking at times, yet extremely hopeful, beautiful, funny, and heartwarming.

If you love historical and Regency romance, I highly recommend this book! I did not want to put it down, and could not wait to see what happened each and every chapter!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for an ARC of this book! I absolutely adored it!
