More Than Maybe is a cute story that can be read in one sitting.

Luke Greenly loves music but, having grown up under his punk rock dad's spotlight, doesn't want to be in the spotlight himself. He has no desire for the fame he saw his father acquire, he instead prefers to use his talent to create music in secret with no intention to ever perform in front of others himself. He also happens to have a, not so, secret crush on Vada Careswell, a music blogger whose wit and expansive knowledge on all things music has created a lasting impression on him.

Vada Careswell has big plans for her future, which includes following a five year plan to land her a dream opportunity. On the right path to achieve all of her goals as she follows the path to her future, Vada begins to develop a crush for Luke. However, Luke is most definitely NOT on her five year plan. As they pair up to work on a school project, they both begin to realize that there may be more depth to their feelings than they could have ever could have anticipated.

I adored Hahn's writing style, the cultural references, and how fast it was to go through this book. It made the entire story an overall sweet read. Vada is the type of protagonist I would necessarily root for, I found her narration to be highly entertaining and realistic. It was also entertaining to read about Vada's family, particularly her parents' relationship. The dynamics between almost every character in this story felt quite authentic and made the story that much sweeter to read. It was interesting to read the influence music played on both Vada and Luke's characters and how it can support them as well as connect them to each other.

Overall, More Than Maybe is a cute fast read that would be perfect to dive into during the Spring and one I definitely recommend adding to your TBR.

What a fresh, fun and sweet story. Vada and Luke are what teenage first love should be about. I thoroughly enjoyed how Erin Hahn wove their tale through the rock, punk and alternative music scene with the likes of 90's bands and their predecessors dating back to even the 70's. The chemistry between Luke and Vada was sweet but you could feel the intensity of first love. What I also loved was that this wasn't the typical one person was from the wrong side of the tracks or the two characters were complete opposites. It was love that was built on common interests, common aspirations, similar family values and a genuine and sincere trust of one another's feelings. My heart swooned for the friendship these two had with one another. They were beautiful to one another not necessarily the rest of the world.
Hahn wrote words that gently pulled you into a hug and slowly that hug grew into more and you never wanted the story to end.
D 5/5

Is the best part your Saturday afternoon curling up on the couch with a rom com, that you have seen a hundred times; a movie that you know every line, every scene, but you will still sit and watch every minute of it? Well this is the book for you!

More than Maybe tells the story of Vada Carsewell and Luke Greenly, both hopelessly in love with one another but neither brave enough to tell each other how they feel.  Through a series of events they end up working together at a dive bar, pretending that they are not smitten with the other.  Vada is trying to plan her future, and Luke is trying to figure out what exactly he has do to not have the future his dad wants for him. The secondary characters are as delightful as the primary ones. I would fully support a book from Luke’s twin brother Cullen and his boyfriend Zach’s point of view. I mean they make rainbow cupcakes together, what is not to love?

This book is the perfect mix tape for your shelf. The constant song references will have you putting this book down to YouTube the song, so that you bop along while you read this book. I wish they would add a playlist of all the songs referenced in the story. More than Maybe has the rom com troupes that you love to read, don’t lie to yourself, you do.  It’s like your perfect Saturday sweater, nothing different, nothing fancy, but oh so comfortable to curl up with. I like the style of the writing and the characters, though it did get a little long in the middle.  Once you get to the end though, get ready, your swoony heart won’t be able to take it.

I give this book 3.5 out of 5. It was a great book, but I was content waiting until the end of the day after my kid went to sleep to read the book. It’s a great book to pass the time when you are stuck inside or relaxing out in a hammock on a pretty day. So if you are looking for something to make your heart tap dance and give you some inspiration for your next playlist, More than Maybe by Erin Hahn is the book to get.

This book doesn’t come out until May, but I couldn’t wait to read it. I absolutely loved the cover and the premise. I loved both Luke and Vada. (I couldn’t help but think of My Girl with that name. Am I dating myself, or what???) I absolutely loved that the book switched between the POV of Vada and Luke. All the music references and the way the author used songs was complete genius! I felt like I was just dancing right along with Vada! There were a few twists in the book, which had me not be able to put it down!

Bottom Line: Read this! It has been awhile since I really loved a YA, as it isn’t my typical genre. This was such a cute read, I was smiling throughout the whole thing and really bonded with the characters.

There was so much about this book that I absolutely loved : Ginger female hero! British accents! Amazing music!
I loved Erin Hahn's first novel, You'd Be Mine, and she nailed it again on her second novel.
Vada and Luke have been secretly crushing on each other from the sidelines over the years, but when a school project brings them together, they are forced to ask themselves where love, if at all, fits into their future plans.
The characters in this book were fleshed out and their actions and communication style with one another felt genuine to who they were. I even loved each supporting character and felt that they all had a reason for being part of the story.
The whole novel felt very on brand for Vada and Luke, and I love finding a novel with that type of cohesiveness, that never feels forced to draw a story a certain way, or bring them a conclusion that does not fit the characters themselves.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves deep YA romances with a side of musical flair.
P.S. Can we please get the author to put together a playlist of all the songs mentioned throughout the novel? I'd listen to it on repeat!

More Than Maybe is a fun romance set in high school and centered around music, much like Hahn's first novel. Luke and Vada's romance is so sweet and inevitable. They've had a crush on each other for years, and finally collaborate on both of their secret passions: dance and composing.
Luke Greenly has grown up under the shadow of his father's punk rock fame and his twin brother's extroverted socializing at their shared high school. Vada has a five year plan for securing herself a position at Rolling Stone, where she plans to critique music professionally. What I love is that they are secretly finding outlets for themselves throughout the story. Vada uses dance to let herself go from the structure she's put in place for herself to succeed. Luke decided to take a composing class to let out some of the music that's been inside him for years, hopefully out of the spotlight and out from under his dad's thumb.
The whole story felt like a dance back and forth. As a reader, you know they are going to get together, and you know there's going to be some heartache as Luke doesn't want to perform his song in public. He's a bit of an emotional clutz at times, and in his anger he unfortunately lets some things slip that result in a huge shift in Vada's life, so then he has to find a way to make it up to her or risk losing their relationship. They are both pretty level headed people, especially Vada, and I found their emotional maturity refreshing for a young adult novel.
Additionally, there are little cameos from Hahn's first novel You'd Be Mine that were delightful. Although not quite as action packed as You'd Be Mine, More Than Maybe was an enchanting and quick-paced romp that held its own.

I think that Erin Hahn has a gift for writing - that is the way she writes really appeals to me.

I struggle with the storytelling.

This is the second book I have read by this author and it failed to hook me. I want to love it. And I do love the writing - but I just couldn't engage with the story. I didn't love the characters. And unlike the first book I read of hers, there wasn't enough of the good to balance out the places I struggled. I just failed to connect this time around and so this wound up being a DNF for me.

I absolutely fell in love with this book. More Than Maybe follows the lives of music lovers Luke and Vada as they are figuring out their lives/ambitions all while they are figuring out their own feelings for each other. I think the think that makes this book so special is the music. Both characters are such lovers of music, it is almost refreshing to read about their love and appreciation that they have for music. Another thing I loved while reading this book is that the author created a playlist of all the songs featured in this novel. This was honestly a godsend because i listen to music while i read, so I loved to listen to her playlist. I even ended up adding a good amount of the songs to my own playlist.
Overall, if you are looking for a book with lovable characters, great music, a fun storyline, and a good summer read, then this is the one for you

Overall I REALLY enjoyed More Than Maybe. I loved both Vada and Luke and their story. I loved all of the music references and everything that made the book feel more real. I could have done with fewer f-words, but it was still a really enjoyable read.
I flew through most of it in one sitting, something I haven't done in a while.

Oh my GOSH this book was so good! I loved You’d Be Mine and I was so super excited to get an ARC of More Than Maybe! And i just have to say Erin Hahn knows how to write a book that just sucks you in because I'm obsessed.

Ok so first off I have to admit that I basically live under a rock when it comes to music so I totally had to google pretty much all the song mentioned in this book *runs and hides* But despite my lack of musical knowledge this is such a fun read and I love how music was so important in this book.

This book has a wonderful set of character that just adds to how amazing this story. I love Meg and her colorful self and just thought her and Vada’s friendship is the best. Luke’s relationship with his twin brother Cullen is really awesome, kinda wish their podcast was real because I would listen to it. Luke’s best friend Zach is just great Luke just accepts the fact that Zach and Cullen are dating. Though its weird at times its just what’s normal to him Phil’s relationship as a mentor to Vada is so sweet and its so great how he stepped into into that father role Vada needed. Luke’s parents are great..even though his retired punk rocker dad drives him crazy sometimes!

I love Luke and Vada their relationship is just the cutest. I really like that it isn’t instant love from the beginning, even though it’s clear from the start that both characters have had feeling for each for a while. It was nice to see their relationship takes it time and happen so naturally and it just makes for the most adorable story.
Also where can I find myself a Luke? Ugh I just love him.

I highly recommend this book and it’s a wonderful read that will just suck you in and quickly become your new favorite!

This book was super cute! And the covers has got to be one of my favorite contemporary covers around. I loved the cultural and intellectual references, absolutely loved the writing, and found this book so easy to follow and get through. My main problem with this book (not even a very big one) is the "insta" love but other than that, definitely recommend.

Music is a huge part of my life so More Than Maybe immediately appealed to me because of its big focus on music. And it didn’t disappoint! Lots of songs and artists are given out throughout the whole book making it perfect for any fans of discovering new stuff like myself - and seeing one of my faves mentioned made me squeal just a tiny bit.

Moreover, this book depicts teenage troubles like trying to get out after high school and trying to deal with family troubles pretty well. I especially liked seeing Luke dealing with his family and going against everything his father wants him to do. But what I really enjoyed about More Than Maybe was the romance because it was absolutely adorable.

I didn’t give this book a higher rating simply because it was good but nothing out of this world or that I’ll want to re-read. It is still really good and I would def recommend though!

I was excited to read this book because the author is writing about Ann Arbor (which is the city next to mine) and she is from Michigan (where I am from). Also, because this was about two teens in love and on the cusp of going away to college and it is set around to music.

I came out enjoying the book but unable to give it any more than 3 stars.

What I think this book excels in is giving you two characters that are wanting something more than what they have. Each feeling the outsiders in their own family - both having father issues. Both using music to cope.

The story was ... well, it was really, really loose. Like all we got going for us is that we know these two people like one another but if they just would have opened up to one another about their feelings would we really need to sit through the rest of the book when it could have been resolved halfway?

Of course, you mention Ann Arbor and famous Michigan bands (Sponge!) you're gonna want to give it all the praise in the world. When you mention place that are real blended in with those that are fiction that's another nice added surprise.

Ann Arbor IS a really popular venue, and bands DO like coming to it - one of the more lowkey locations with some great places (The Ark, State, Michigan Theater). ... but having her being some blogger whose work is that great that she gets accepted for Rolling Stone? What? I was having a much harder time accepting that than the guy's father being from a retired band and ending up in Ann Arbor.

Overall, it's a cute story with an adorable set of characters but a plot that honestly doesn't go anywhere and just kind of lingers. :/

I was going to write a nice, long review of this one, but I think sometimes short and sweet is better. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book as part of my participation in the blog tour and I loved it just as much as You’d Be Mine.

I think my favorite thing about Hahn’s books is the way she can just casually insert a ton of music references, but it never feels over-the-top. Vada and Luke dropped a lot of song titles in this book and I loved every minute of it. I was particularly happy to see a bunch of my favorites make an appearance!

A brief selection of some of my favorite songs and bands mentioned in this book:

* I Want You by Savage Garden
* Car Radio by Twenty One Pilots
* Something Corporate
* Judah & the Lion
* Green Light by Lorde

In short: I loved Vada and her blog, I loved Luke and his podcast, I loved Phil and his club, and I loved this book. I can’t wait for Never Saw You Coming.

I read the book while listening to the book's playlist at the Spotify app, and enjoyed the experience even more.
Vada & Luke are very mature youth that is passionate for they are doing, but at the same time, like keep personal things for themselves only, not everyone has to know about it.
All the characters, main and secondary, are well written, they have so many layers that get untangled bit by bit.
More Than Maybe it is a book with strong friendships and family relationships. What I like about the contemporary story is that the problems are manageable and not exaggerated. I also like that there is a representation of the LGBTQ+ community, as Luke's brother, Cullen & Zack, Luke's best friend, are in a relationship. I would love to have a book about Zack & Cullen.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

This book was such a delightful little gem. I have such a soft spot for YA books that feature characters that have a passion and love for music. When I was in high school, music was my everything. It was my ultimate passion and what I lived for day to day. Reading this book was really nostalgic for me. I really felt every moment of this book so ardently.

These characters were truly something special. To say that they spoke to me would be a bit of an understatement. I was so wrapped up in these characters and I loved them so much. I loved that these characters had plenty of depth. They have so many layers and the author really brings out their complexity. I loved that the main characters had such tremendous growth in the story. This book also has an array of secondary characters that really made things interesting. I adored all the friendships and relationships in this book.

The romance in the story was very touching to me because the two main characters were so obviously perfect for each other. The romantic gesture in this book by one of the characters is just so damn romantic that it makes my heart want to burst. The two main characters are very attuned to one another. They have such beautiful chemistry and the reader can't help but root for them.

The plot of the story really came together nicely. All the ducks were lined up nicely and everything was executed perfectly in the story. The story was very addicting. I was so entranced that I read the entire book in a single sitting. I couldn't get enough. The storytelling was such a pleasure to read. I love the writing style and the author's voice.

Overall, this is an atmospheric story that was a pleasure to get lost in. I was very much impressed with this book and I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Luke and Vada? May the Force be with us.

OK, that's out of the way. I loved this book. It had a little bit of everything - 90s nostalgia, poking fun at aging rockers as well as modern hipsters, earnest yet sardonic teen journalists, and young love. I had so many vibes of things like Almost Famous and High Fidelity, just to name a couple. But what I think I liked best about this novel is how Luke and Vada, for the most part, were just allowed to LIKE each other. There were relatively few obstacles, or wacky YA novel misunderstandings/third act "we need a speedbump" conflict jolts. Instead, we just get to see each character talk about how cute and wonderful they think the other is. Sometimes, that's just what the doctor ordered.

More Than Maybe centers on two very different teens in the music world finding their way to each other. I had a lot of trouble connecting with these characters, they just didn't seem like teenagers. The writing made them see a lot more mature than I would expect them to act. I loved the plot of this book but felt that it would have worked better with older characters. I wanted to love this one but I just couldn't connect.

An overall fun read. Loved the writing style and the story line. Characters were all up to par. I enjoyed this one just as much as I have Erin Hahn's other books. I definitely recommend it to teens looking for a quick romance to read.
