This was book 2 in the Highlander series. I enjoyed this story just as much as the first. Iain and Anna are both stubborn and unsure of themselves. The story was a little slow to begin, but picked up and I really enjoyed the rest.

I'm liking this Highlander Series. Something about imagining a Scot in a kilt, who oozes strength and sexiness is simply delicious. While Anna didn't want him around at first, she soon found that Iain was everything she wanted, and wanted a forever with. The festival was a success, and Iain had to go back to Scotland.
This was a bit anticipated and the journey, while good, wasn't grand. There was nothing to make it stand out or wow me. A nice, smalltown romance, with heat and humor, that had me chuckling at times, and frustrated at others, light entertainment! If you like hunky Scots in kilts, you’ll enjoy this book. Iain is simply a great, gentle giant. He’s rather shy, especially around women, but he’s instantly attracted to Anna when he comes to her small Georgia town to help her organize a Highland festival. Anna is a dance teacher who’s taken on the job of organizing the festival for her friend who is on bedrest for her pregnancy over in Scotland.

The only problem is that Anna wants to do everything herself so she can prove herself to the town. She starts off not wanting Iain to do more than take care of the ‘beasties’ that will be participating in the festival. But his patient decency soon wins her over. Now the only problem is how to build a forever romance when he has to go back to Scotland and she has her own business and life in Georgia.

It was such a joy to return to Highland, Georgia. I really liked the first book and the second book did not disappoint. Iain was a gruff but caring man in a kilt and while Anna felt she had everything to prove she really hid a tender heart. These characters were very well written and I enjoyed their story arc’s. I do feel like you really need to read the first book to understand the secondary characters and their relationship to the story though.

From the epilogue it didn't really grab me to read the next story but I do plan on giving it a shot since I’ve enjoyed the authors writing so much for the first two books.

Anna is taking over the organizing of the annual Scottish festival somewhat ironically placed in Highland, Georgia, U.S.A. She volunteered for the task because her best friend Izzy is seven months pregnant and on bed rest across the ocean living in the actual Scottish Highlands with her new husband. Anna is determined to prove that she can do it all by herself except that Izzy has sent over a reinforcements from Scotland. He is dark, scarred , brooding and Scottish and wickedly good with his hands. She doesn’t want his help or for his sexy self to dominate her every thought but she may be fighting a losing battle.

This book was so good. The love story really took time to build past just the initial attraction that the two felt for each other. Who wouldn’t love a beautiful beast of a man like Ian? This is the second book in a wonderful series by Laura Trentham and I recommend it.

I am loving Highland, GA and the wonderful Scottish men that are showing up there. Laura Trentham has me totally hooked on this series and I can't wait until she releases another. The stories are fun and funny and just plain wonderful to read.
Ian and Anna were hysterical. Anna is uptight … Iain is the strong and silent type. Together they bring sexual tension to a whole new level. And, when they finally act on it, there's an explosion. And then another, and then another … well, you get the picture.
Anna is in charge of the Highland games … or so she thinks. Iain is in charge of the Highland Games … or so he thinks. They have to learn to work together. He refuses to just be a caretaker for the animals and she refuses to listen to anything he has to say. But, when she finds out all that he's helped with and the ideas he has for future celebrations, she starts taking some of his advice. She soon finds out that together, they just may put on Highland Games that will rival Isabel's and her mom's. But, all good things must come to end. And, it does, abruptly. Anna is left with a broken heart and Iain is back in Scotland miserable. What can they do but be miserable. There is nothing either of them can do. He has commitments in Scotland he doesn't want to keep and she has aspirations of her own in Highland, GA. But, will the birth of a sweet little baby bring them together and will their true feelings finally be known.
Like I said, Highland, GA stole my heart. The characters, the stories and the love. Laura Trentham has brought both Georgia and Scotland alive in this series. You could hear the Scottish brogue and feel the heat of Georgia with every turn of the pages. And, she's really trying to answer the age-old question of what's work beneath the kilt. I guess you'll have to read the story to find out just what Iain has hidden there. If you love funny, quirky characters and a story to go with them, you'll enjoy the Highland, Georgia novels.

The small town of Highland, Georgia was going down hill. Then a brilliant citizen started the Highland Festival. Highland now promotes the town as a little bit of Scottish heaven in the Blue Ridge Mountains. For years, the festival has been run by Isabel and her mother. Now, Izzie is on bed rest in Scotland, about to have her first baby and living with her husband Alasdair.

Izzie has asked her best friend, Anna, to take charge of the festival. To help Anna, Izzie and Alasdair have sent Iain to become her partner in producing the festival.

Anna is a young woman who is a very strong personality. She appreciates the confidence and belief in her. She plans to make this festival absolutely perfect. In fact, she is obsessive about making everything in her life absolutely perfect.

Iain is simply going to interfere with her plans and she is not going to permit that to happen.

Iain is a shy loner who has little confidence in his relationships. His father has planned his future and that future is for him to return to the estate in Scotland and take over his father's duties. But, Iain is not exactly certain that is what he would choose for himself.

He is a talented carpenter, musician and he is willing to offer help to anyone in need. He also looks really terrific in a kilt. And he wears kilts a lot.

I fell in love with Iain. He has been a brave soldier, a devoted son and friend as well as a conscientious shepherd. He is smart and funny but needs to believe in his personal charm.

Anna was abrasive and snarky to Iain. She did not allow him to tell her what he could do to help, she automatically told him he could be a “pooper scooper” and nothing more.

I understood her desire to do a good job. But, she lived in a small town where she is admired, supported and popular. It is rather disappointing that she would not even give Iain a chance. And since her best friend sent him to help, surely she could believe he would be a help.

I loved the fact that Iain moved along in life with or without Anna's help. And everyone he met liked him and appreciated him.

Although this is the second book in a series, the reader can easily follow along and understand the characters and events. I loved the first book in this series. And I look forward to reading the next book in the series. This one simply did not blow me away like the first one. I would have liked Anna to be a little kinder and less rude.

This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed it more than the first book. The characters had more chemistry and more going on in their lives and I was happy to be along for the ride. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

So I hope you read the first book in this series (A Highlander walks into a bar) which in it we met Anna one of the main characters in this one and I had liked her in the last book, in this one not as much. Anna was incharge of the Highland games that her bestie Ivy and her mother Rose always held yearly, it was something that the town really looked forward to and helped the economy. Anna did not want to mess up for a multitude of reasons one of them being that her bestie Ivy was having a baby and could not be there for it since she was having some complications which was another reason that Rose couldn't be there. Since it is so much work they sent Iain who was Alistair friend from Scotland, Anna was not very nice to him, actually she was a little to stubborn. After realizing what Ivy was going thru she didn't want to cause her any worry so she sucked it up and gave him a chance, and succumbed to her feelings for him. Everything was great until he had to leave, and he could never leave Scotland and she couldn't leave her school. What happens well grab a copy and Enjoy! I have to say I was really happy that Holt is getting a book!!

This is the second book in the Highland, Georgia series, and it can be read as a standalone. Highland is a small town with the requisite eccentric characters and generations of families full of expectation and ambition for their offspring. I love Highland, which is a character in itself. I liked the humor and enjoyed this second book more than the first one in the series.

Iain has come from Scotland to help Anna with the Highland annual festival, but she’s worried it will look as if she can’t handle the extra workload and thus put a spanner in her personal goals. I liked Iain. He’s the strong, silent type who can sometimes appear a little scary, yet has a soft heart. He easily integrates into the Highland community, and I enjoyed watching him grow in confidence and find his place in the town. I found Anna a little more challenging to like since she was so prickly and stubborn at times. It took me a while before I started to understand her and her motivations. The romance is a slow burn, and once they got together, the story moved a little faster. In the end, I thought Iain and Anna were perfect for each other.

A Highlander in a Pickup (Book #2 A Highland, Georgia Novel) was absolutely fabulous. I loved the interaction and chemistry between Anna and Alasdair. I mean who wouldn't love a sexy Scotsman in a kilt and a strong but quirky heroine. This book will have you laughing out loud from beginning to end. Laura Trentham has quickly become one of my go to authors. If I could give this 5+ stars I definitely would. Thank you NetGalley.

This is the first book by Laura that I have read, and I did not realize at the time it is the second in the series. While Izzy and Alastair are awaiting the birth of their first child in Scotland, Anna has been left to organize the Scottish festival for their town, run her dance studio, and she is considering running for mayor as well. Izzy and her mom Rose are the ones usually in charge of the festival. Rose is in Scotland awaiting the birth of her grandchild.
Iain is just returned from a military deployment and is a very likable,Scotsman who has been sent by Alastair to help Anna with the festival. She is so worried about everyone thinking she can’t handle things that she is busy pushing him away. This solid story has entertaining banter, angst, and chemistry. This is a 4 star read.

Hilarious, painful, emotional, romantic, this novel is all of that an more. Two characters couldn't be more different than Anna Maitland and Iain Connors and their initial interaction with Ozzie the Scottish black-faced sheep had me wiping the tears of laughter from my cheeks. Sent to Highland, Georgia to assist Anna in running the annual Highland Festival, Iain is standing in for his friend to make the event a success. Anna is determined to take control of matters, given that she has a point to prove and a reputation to build. Iain, on the other hand, has experience and the skills to bring the plans for the festival together, but the feisty and energetic Anna is not giving him any quarter. The taciturn Highlander is more comfortable quoting Robbie Burns than voicing his own opinions, whereas sarcastic, quick-witted Anna is never at a loss for words. Despite her success as a business owner and a dancer, Anna nevertheless suffers from the years of exacting discipline imposed by her mother, and it takes very little to make her crumble in the face of disapproval. With his watchful sensitivity, Iain begins to get the measure of Anna and when he shows her his caring protectiveness, she feels her heart soften towards the man who could very well overshadow her. Through it all, the reader once again meets up with friends from Highland with all their quirky characteristics and I found myself rooting for Anna and Iain. However, Iain has made a promise to his father and being the honorable man that he is, he would rather turn his back on finding love than to break his word, leaving Anna devastated and angry. Although this book is part of a series, it is also a standalone and Anna and Iain's story comes to a really good conclusion. A Highlander in a Pickup by Laura Tentham is the second book of her Highland, GA series and while this was a good book I really loved the first book a little more. With that being said Iain and Anna's story was completely worthy of 4 Stars. The love story was a slow build between a loner and a dance studio owner who wants badly to prove that she can handle the highlander games.

Anna Maitland wants to prove to the town and herself that she can plan the Highland games but when Iain Connors is sent from Cairndow Castle she puts him in charge of Ozzie (sheep) and Harriet (cow). But when she comes down sick she'll have to delegate to Iain some of the planning. She's trying to prove that even though she couldn't make it in the big city, Anna's dance studio is successful and if she can convince Iain that he'll be a able to learn how to waltz in time for the whiskey tasting dinner and dance. But can she protect her heart from falling for the handsome Scotsman?

The quiet kilt wearing Scotsman Iain who's felt lost since leaving the British Army will soon find a niche in Highland as a carpenter, utility kilt designer, guitar playing and festival planner. But will Anna and Iain find love with each other especially when they are reunited at Izzy and Alasdair's daughter, Annie, christening will Iain convince Anna that he loves her and is willing to leave Scotland or will they go their separate ways?

A Highlander in a Pickup by Laura Trentham is the second book in the series. What a terrific series. I read both the first and second book and enjoyed them both. When a Highlander is involved, I know it will be a good read. I was not disappointed. This story was fun loving and well written. It not only had romance but a good amount of humor also. The small town in the story is a perfect setting. This was Iain and Anna’s story, and while they are trying to fight their attraction to each other, have a lot of past baggage, their love wins in the end. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next in this series. Highly recommended.

I love this series by Laura Trentham so much. This book follows Izzy’s friend Anna who is taking over the festival for her since she is in Cairndown. Anna is the dance instructor who owns her mother’s old dance studio and has won Lass of the Games for several years. Anna is very nervous about running the Highland festival alone and doesn’t want to disappoint Izzy or Rose. She gets an unexpected delivery of animals for a new husbandry exhibit that she wasn’t informed about and she panics. Iain is sent to Highland from Cairndown, he is Alasdair’s good friend and his Dad is the groundskeeper of Cairndown and he will be the next in line for the role when his father retires. Iain isn’t wanting to take on the role but he is doing what’s expected of him. He recently just got done serving in the military and is now going to help with the festival. He finds Anna chasing a sheep who is eating the roses of Rose’s house. He helps her and then explains why he is there. Another surprise to Anna but she is grateful for the help but she isn’t going to tell him that. She is control freak and not wanting anyone to mess up her festival. She assigns him to poop scooper duty and to build animal pens. Over time she learns he is able to do more and they develop a good friendship. This is a funny book and I love this series. Great characters that really have relatable backstories and I enjoy how it relates to the festival. They all are so funny and unique. This story has a great twist in the end and I love how they are so untrusting of love but want it so bad. Five star read.

I always enjoy the tension of the fake hatred before they fall in love. I enjoy the chase and this did not disappoint. I haven’t read many male characters like This one and I loved it. I genuinely was concerned for either one of them to make the move throughout the whole book but I love the bow that she tied at the end of this book. Can’t wait to see what happens with Holt!

I loved the first book in this series so when I came across this, I was so excited! It’s a decent follow up to the first. I loved Iain but Anna’s story didn’t seem to be as fleshed out as it should/could have been. I would have preferred to see more background into both of them and have more of their time together be quality time instead of just sex, but I liked it!

I have read Laura trentham 's Spies and lovers series. That was an absolute delight to read. I was equally impressed with this one. Anna and Iain are total opposite of each other. Opposite attracts. One complaint though... Felt story dragging a bit at times but made up in the end. I plan to read the first one in the series A highlander walks in a bar now. The hero is what dreams are made up of n they only exist in storybooks. But they make us smile n believe in love. Annna comes across a an independent woman who reluctantly accepts Iain's help. Looking forward to read more books from the author.
