Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I went into this book with high hopes based on the synopsis. Unfortunately I just couldn’t get into the story or find much interest in the characters.

This is a quick read. Very lighthearted and fun with likeable characters. An easy to read story for the commute or holiday.

Oof. Where to begin...this book was about 200 pages too long. There was a lot of rehashing the same points over and over, not to mention a heavy emphasis on daddy issues that got incredibly repetitive after the first few times.

Rosie finds herself out of a long term relationship with no clue on how to navigate the ever evolving dating pool. In an attempt to get with the times, she tries swiping right and is left ghosted at a bar by herself.

In walks Noah - a serial dater who takes pity on Rosie and decides to help ‘train her up’ on dating!

But what happens when the student starts falling for the teacher?!

This is a great little read that is engaging, funny and romantic. A perfect read for a cosy night in!

An easy breezy read which gave me the feeling of meet cute when the two main characters encountered each other. Humorous chick-lit was what I expected from this book, and author Zara Stoneley delivered it in most parts.

This was a pretty good book. The story was well paced. I enjoyed following Rosie around on her journey through today’s dating. I hadn’t read this author before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was not disappointed!

When faced with heartbreak, Rosie ventures into the world of swiping right.... only to be disappointed again. But to her surprise maybe the next best thing was actually sitting right next to her. The story of Noah and Rosie is sweet and reminds the reader that sometimes life gives you what you need when you least expect it.

Thank you @netgalley for the opportunity to receive an ARC in return for my honest review.

This is an engaging read that was really hard to put down. The premise is interesting and I really felt for Rosie trying to date in the modern era.

Through the whole book I kept finding myself smiling and encouraging Rosie along her journey.

Overall it's an engaging book that is sure to charm most readers!

I liked this book - it was a nice easy read. I liked the character of Rosie, she felt very real and so did her fears and worries. Her mum was also great and I really liked Noah - he was fun, but had depth too. I also liked that the book touched on how you need to be brave, go for what you want and be fearless.

I really struggled to get fully in to this book, I noticed a few sections missing etc but they were easy to sort of "make up" - I am going to give this 3 stars as I know i'll read it again and love it

Absolutely loved this quick fun read!!

Rosie is going to a local bar to meet up with a tinder date and what could be worse? he doesn't show up! Instead she runs into a man named Noah who is quite the charmer and reminds me of her unfaithful father, Noah finds out that she was stood up for a date and decides to give her some coaching to keep/find some dates. Within the process Rosie is kind of falling in love with Noah and refuses to admit it to her best friend. What does the future hold? read this book and find out!

Thankyou NetGally and publishers for the early release in exchange for an honest review,

What do you do when you get stood up on a tinder first date and someone saves you and offers you darting classes. This is a story of love, loss, and laughter. Definitely could not put this down and loved every minute. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you ignore the cover this book was actually really fun, light-hearted, romantic and a quick read. Don't get me wrong the main character has some serious daddy issues but if you can get past it then the book is really enjoyable.

Thank you to Netgalley for a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a fun read and as an extra bonus it will make you reminisce about all of the first dates you might have experienced.

As I have been with my loved one since the dawn of time this book also made me think about how I’d cope in this new dating world with things like Tinder. It feels so different to the one I left which was all about eyeing up a love interest on a crowded dance floor of a cheesy nightclub and working out how you could ‘dance’ your way over to him without making it too obvious and then once in his vicinity showing him through the medium of drunken interpretive dance what a catch you are. *Sigh*

Moving on swiftly, this book by Zara Stoneley is perfect for reading in lockdown. It’s funny, lighthearted romantic comedy with some interesting characters.

I did feel for Rosie at the start. After the break up of her long term relationship she’s back on the search for a soulmate and dipping her toe in the online dating world. However it’s not as simple as she thinks and there’s so many new challenges to face. I loved her list at the start about the 7 things that can go wrong on a first date after a Tinder match.

The premise was good – Rosie meeting Noah instead of the date who has stood her up and agreeing to follow Noah’s dating pointers.

There was more to both Rosie and Noah once the book got going. They had different issues and these explained a lot about their characters.

The standout has to be the banter between Rosie and Noah. Their witty dialogue is great fun.

A fun read!

I LOVED it so much I read it in 2 days!

What can I say, I absolutely loved this book. The character of Rosie is so funny and so well written. I love that she is so much stronger and confident than she actually believes she is – I feel that is something many of us can understand as we all have doubts about ourselves and what we are capable of dealing with in life. The chance meeting with the ever so adorable Noah gives Rosie a lot more to think about, when he offers to teach her all things seduction and how to get that first date.

The story line follows both Rosie and Noah as the lessons in love begin and as the lessons continue, we find out more about both characters and their past relationships. The friendship between Rosie and Noah is just completely adorable – he is always there for her, making her see how incredible she really is. The more I read, the more you could see that Rosie and Noah were just perfect for each other – if only they could both see that too!

The First Date is amazing, I loved it and was so sad when I came to the end of the story. Full of love, laughs, fun and accepting yourself for who you are, which for me is such an important part of this story. Thank you Zara for writing a story that I couldn’t wait to read and had me hooked from the very first page. I definitely was not disappointed!
