The prose in this story is dense and difficult to wade through. It's hard to keep the characters straight.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I’m sorry but I wasn’t able to get into this book. I tried several times but it was just too wordy for me and not enough dialogue. This doesn’t me that because it didn’t suit me that it wouldn’t appeal to others. Not everyone enjoys the same book.

I had a hard time with reading this book. It was slow, there were a ton of details in the beginning and it was hard to keep everyone straight. I gave and tried again and again, but every time I would have to start at the beginning. Not a lot was interesting or memorable. I am sure I am in the minority, but I was not able to get all the way through the book.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. The options are my own.

I enjoyed this book! It is lovely and romantic. Everything from manners, dialogue between characters, etc. felt very authentic to the Regency Era time period.

If you love historical fiction and Regency romance, I recommend this book!

I do wish that there was more dialogue between various characters, and that relationships were shown a bit deeper and more developed. However, it was still a very enjoyable read.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Sapere Books for an ARC of this book. I enjoyed it!

This is the story of Virginia Spicer, a Bath Debutante whose father dies suddenly leaving behind a large amount of debt. Virginia, who doesn't want to impose on her only remaining relative's charity, takes a governess/companion position meant for her friend, Agnes Greyson, who recently married and no longer needs the position. Virginia, although only 21, adjusts her appearance in order to look older to appear as Agnes would.
Simon Kirkland, whom Virginia met once before in Bath, comes to stay at the neighbors house and begins showing a marked interest in Virginia's young charge. He also shows a marked interest in Virginia as he feels that they may have met before. Virginia denies ever knowing him.
We follow the story as they grow closer and begin to fall for each other. Although a little slow to start, overall this was a feel good story with a HEA.
I will recommend this story to my fellow Regency fans who enjoy a feel good romance.
Finally, I would like to thank Dorothy Mack, Sapere Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

I found this book hard to get into with its long and winding sentences especially at the beginning of the book. I had to reread a few of them just to keep some of the characters straight. I finally gave up on this book at the 30% mark. Was just not a fan of the plot or the writing style.

Even if it's well written I couldn't connect to the characters and the book fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This is about Virginia who is posing as a governess. To pull that off she is hiding her beauty under a disguise. For me this was an okay read. The sentences were long, which made it harder to read. The plot was okay, but it missed some sparkle.
