The author brings many personal illustrations to emphasize how each of us go through times feeling like we are unimportant, worthless, and generally down on ourselves – much less than what God made us to be.

She compares those down feelings with feeling less important “than a side of rice and beans”, which everyone tends to get in a Mexican restaurant and many don’t eat. She wants us to emphasize and dwell on the fact that God has made us like the wonderful “tableside” guacamole we like to “splurge” on as the best part of the meal.

The beautiful emphasis of this book remains that God wants us to believe and live as His important masterpiece – a beautiful creation.

I found she used many word and phrase references pertaining to the “millennial” style of language, which tended to “turn me off” as an older reader.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
