I ADORED THIS BOOK! An easy five stars from me, now i usually don't really enjoy historical romances but i always desperately want to since they seem so good but i hva e to say that this one really caught me.

This book is about Abby and Dash who grew up together and also loved each other, but suddenly Dash left without a word and Abby is understandebly very mad at him for it. Now quite a few years later they meet again when Abby is asked to go undercover to protect the son of the one who murdered her father.

I really don't know how to explain how much i love this book! It really just drew me in and i kept on turning the pages and i really couldn't stop.

I will definitely be reading the rest of the Daughter's of the mayflower series.

While reading The Blizzard Bride by Susanne Dietze, the wind outside my home was bringing our first winter storm. This made for an exciting read. I felt the cold of the blizzard seeping through our windows. I heard the roar of the wind as it was described in this exciting addition to the Daughters of the Mayflower series that you will find hard to put down.

While the Mayflower plays little importance in the story, Abby reminds readers of this series, of the gumption and heroics each "daughter" has played thus far. With Abby posing as a teacher to catch the murderer of her father, along with Dash (a former love interest and a member of the Secret Service), this story delivered an adventure, romance and a mystery to solve.

There was a very realistic element of losing one's faith in God in this story that will speak to anyone who is struggling with their faith. I loved seeing Abby grow in this aspect and how her growth in trusting God influenced those around her.

I was astonished that the blizzard described in the book actually happened in real life. The author did an incredible job of describing it. Be sure to read the author's notes on this at the end of the book as it is very intriguing.

While this is part of a series, The Blizzard Bride can definitely be read as a standalone. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely wonderful story of redemption and love.Abby and Dash have their unresolved issues as they travel to Nebraska under different circumstances.
The person they are looking for is right there under their noses.
My favorite part of this entire book was when Abby tackles the town curmudgeon. She sees behind his attitude to the hurt and sorrow buried deep.Really made me think of all the people I overlook because of their attitude.
Lots of romance, love, humor and adventure with a dash of real history thrown together.
Thankyou Netgalley for this ARC

I absolutely stayed engaged with this book the entire way through the plot. There was suspense, drama and danger paired with romance. The author highlighted the gospel theme of forgiveness and intertwined that message into several characters in the book, one of them being the main character, Abby.

As Abby and Dash, her handsome beau, look for the fraud in the town, the author does a really good job hiding him in plain sight. She also added a historic winter blizzard which was fascinating to me. I love it when author's add real historical events to a plot.

In the end, the happy ending prevailed, and the killer was apprehended. Of course the best part of the story is that God won the hearts of the characters and forgiveness was granted and received in love.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for this review.

Cloak and dagger excitement in Nebraska in the year 1887! Abby’s father was murdered by a counterfeiter named Fletcher Pitch. Fletcher Pitch has an 8 year old son hidden by his deceased wife’s sister in Wells, Nebraska. Abby is recruited to pose as a schoolteacher to try to uncover the identity of the boy before Pitch does. The person who is working for the Secret Service to catch Fletcher is a former beau of hers, Dash, who left her 6 years ago, Abby is still angry at him for deserting her.
You will have to read the book for yourself to find out what happens to this couple and why this book is called “The Blizzard Bride!”

Blizzard Bride was a real page-turner. It kept my interest from beginning to end as a schoolmarm and a federal agent go undercover to catch a counterfeiter. It is a tale of love and forgiveness, of tragedy and hope. This well-researched historical fiction book involves a real blizzard that claimed the lives of many children. It is also a book of about seeking the Lord and relying on His hope in the midst of the storms of life. The characters are deep and endearing, even those who play opposing roles will touch your heart as you try to figure out the mystery woven into the story. Who is the enemy, who is the lost child, which woman has saved her nephew from his criminal father?

The author did an excellent job of blending fact with fiction in this book. She made the story come to life and hooks you on the first page. Once you start reading , you don't want to stop, you just have to find out what happens next. Thank you Barbour Publishing via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. This was a sweet story. I loved the attention to detail as the author retold events that had happened long ago. The spiritual reminders were nicely placed within the flow of the story. Some parts felt a little too controlled but I enjoyed the characters and would definitely read another by the author.

A touching, inspirational story based on true events set in 1888 Nebraska. An undercover operation to flush out a fugitive counterfeiter becomes dangerous for a Secret Service agent and the local schoolteacher with a mission of her own. The book is one of a series, but reads easily as a stand alone.

This story drew me in with characters that are far from perfect, but are quite courageous and determined to finish their mission no matter what the personal cost. Plenty of inspiration is found woven into the storyline. There is a strong underlying redemptive theme, also the need to pull out deep roots of bitterness, extending grace and mercy to find healing and forgiveness. It was done well as the main characters wrestled with their faith and past hurts. The story moves at a good pace as it builds towards a catastrophic event and the mystery is solved. It was interesting to read the author's notes at the end about the real history behind it. It was sad, but made me thankful in many ways.
Recommend to readers who enjoy clean inspirational historical romances. 4.5 stars

I have read most of the Daughters of the Mayflower series and this was as exciting to read as all of the others! Abby and Dash grew up together in Chicago, but Dash left unexpectedly, without a word. Now years later they are thrown together to work toward catching a counterfeiter, the same man that murdered her father. She was devastated when Dash left, but throughout this story she learns to forgive him. Forgiveness is the ultimate theme of this story, and it was so good , I didn't want to put it down. Loved it!

THE BLIZZARD BRIDE by SUSANNE DEITZE is an action packed historical suspense novel which takes place in a small town in Nebraska in 1888. The author has an easy way of writing and we get to know the characters through their tension packed and sometimes amusing conversations. She portrays the period in which the story takes place, with the social niceties and rules, and brings in the Children's Blizzard, an actual histrical event, which plays a big part in the story.
The Secret Service, in their quest to find a counterfeiter and murderer who has managed to evade them up to now, send their agent, Dashiell Lassiter, and school teacher, Abigail Bracey, to find him in Wells Inn. Dash and Abby have history which makes it hard for them to work together.
It is an exciting story, with a well thought out plot and I found it hard to put down. There is also a good Christian message running through it, with the importance of forgiveness coming out strongly.
I highly recommend The Blizzard Bride as a most enjoyable read.

Fans of Christian historical romance will not be disappointed with Susanne Dietze's new book. The Blizzard Bride is the eleventh book in the Daughters of the Mayflower Series. Each time I read one, I think this is my favorite. This book was no exception. After reading the introduction to this novel, I thought the publishers maybe gave us too much information. What could there be left to the story? Well, there is plenty. This novel is full of action, suspense, excitement, love and laughter. Susanne has a faith thread throughout the story, which I love. I couldn't have asked for more. You can't go wrong with any of the Daughters of the Mayflower books and this great book by Susanne Dietze is no exception.

This novel would make a nice Hallmark movie. While it is a gentle romance featuring a young woman down on her luck who is reunited with a former beau, it also features a historical event-the Children's Blizzard. The two main characters are reunited when the U. S. Treasury Dept. is investigating counterfeiters. The author lets the reader in on terms that were used to label those involved in counterfeiting during the late 1800's. The hero Dash comes from a lower class background and used to work for the leading ladies family. Now, he is an investigator for the Treasury Dept. He needs someone to go undercover as a schoolteacher to help in his investigation. Providentially, he runs into his old flame and recruits her. As in any good Hallmark movie, the two endure conflict, rekindle their love for each other, and solve the crime.

I am loving the Daughters of the Mayflower series! Each on focuses on a specific event from history, and sometimes they are more obscure events. I had heard of the Children's Blizzard, but didn't really know what it was until I'd read this book. Both of the characters have secrets to hide, and a past to overcome (or move forward from), and they have to learn to do it together, in spite of their dislike and distrust. Throw in a couple of mysteries, a freak natural disaster, and a hint of romance, and you get a book that will leave you hanging on until the last moment!

I loved this entire series, and this one was just fantastic! In this, Abby heads to Nebraska to help find and protect the son of the man who murdered her father with Dash, a Secret Service agent who has been working the case. Abby and Dash have a history, and that's a big reason why forgiveness was such a well done theme of this book. I loved the sense of time and place described in this as well, including the mixing of fact and fiction regarding the blizzard. Absolutely excellent characters, at least the ones were supposed to like! I'll be waiting impatiently for the next book!
