A divorce attorney gets served divorce papers and is forced off of work for 10 months to travel the world and find out how marriages last forever. Sounds like an interesting read, right?

While the synopsis drew me in, I found the writing to be hard to follow. Often times I wondered if maybe I missed a chapter or two. The secondary chapters were a little bit flat, but I adored Olivia. She is so down to earth and real.

Overall, this book was enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the read.

Having just finished this book, having read it in one day. It’s the story of Olivia who works for a big firm of lawyers. Upon realising/having had a document handed to her at work, her husband has asked for a divorce, and taking leave from her job, she goes on a trip to different countries for her friend for her research on why marriages survive. What Olivia learns whilst doing this about herself and her marriage is the basis of this story. Would recommend it.

A Year of Chasing Love by Rosie Chambers a fabulous five-star read. If you have an afternoon to while away some time the pick this up as you will have a perfect afternoon. This was such a great story, I adored Olivia she reminded me of so many people I know, and her situation was one that everyone could identify with at least in some tiny part. You will love this story and once you start the journey you won’t be able to put the novel down, so do yourself a favour and don’t try. I am so excited to see where this author will take us next.

Olivia lost sight of pretty much everything in her life except her work- and then her husband Nathan served her (a divorce lawyer no less!) with divorce papers. Compelled by her boss to take time off, she opts to help a friend with research on what makes a successful marriage. Would that we all had such a friend (who btw should be doing her own research not relying on a friend but no matter). Olivia take a scenic tour of the world, traveling to lovely places and meeting with a variety of people. Her travels and conversations make her reflect on her own marriage. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is light, escapist stuff with some nice spritely characters. Made me think about a world tour too!

A Year Of Chasing Love by Rosie Chambers is a light hearted contemporary read that looks at love and the qualities needed to make relationships last. It is a novel that makes you smile and leaves you smiling.
The reader has a cosmopolitan ride through the novel as we ‘travel’ from the UK to Malta to Singapore to Hawaii to Denmark and to Paris, the city of love. The welcome we receive is as warm as the sun beating down as a light air wafts throughout.
We learn lessons in love, discovering what love is and what it is not. We see marriages that last and those that shipwreck on the rocks.
It is important to have a healthy work-life balance. We must not neglect our family and friends in favour of hours spent in the office. We need balanced lives. We want to not just survive but thrive.
The characters were all wonderfully drawn, likable and realistic. It was easy to empathise with the lead character.
A Year Of Chasing Love was a delightful read to warm a winter’s day.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

A touch of escapism at what is a crazy time for me at work and having this to read was lovely. Although I was torn between liking Olivia and wanting her to have it all. My major bugbear is that women are put under so much pressure if they work hard and long hours whether if that had been Nathan, then Olivia wiould be expected to just accept it. I'm not usually a person that necessarily likes a happy ever after ending but I was rooting for Olivia to find hers even without Nathan. An easy enjoyable read and I will be back to read more by the author. I would like to thank the publishers and netgalley for letting me have the book to review and the opinions expressed are entirely my own views and are completely unbiased.

Olivia is a woman on a mission....that is to go on a worldwide journey of discovery. Finding out why some countries have higher divorce rates and why people in certain countries are happier in general. She is a hardworking (too hardworking for my liking!) divorce lawyer and the story starts with an event of her own which results in her taking nearly a year long sabbatical from her job. This makes her realise the more important things in life.

I loved how I could pick up this story at different times and not be confused on what was happening. So if you are after a laid back read this is one for you! The detail of each destination Olivia visits is amazing you just feel like you are there too.

I was also holding back the tears by the end of this heartwarming story. ‘A Year of Chasing Love’ is about taking the time needed to find out what you really need in life. This was my first read by Rosie and it won’t be my last. I thought her writing was easy going with very loveable characters 😊 I give ‘A Year of Chasing Love’ an endearing 4*/5* ❤️

I received A Year Chasing Love by Rosie Chambers, free, from NetGallery, in exchange for an honest review.
Olivia Hamilton, a divorce lawyer, decides to travel the world in search of love instead of worrying about her own problems.
Listening to all these stories of love, her mind begins to focus on her soon to be ex husband.
Thinking about her own relationship, she starts to wonder if it is t too late to save her own marriage.
A fun book on the follies of love

I really liked the premise of this story, it caught my eye right away when I read the synopsis, but I feel that there were parts that could have been fleshed out more. I really liked Olivia as a character, she is realistic and her reactions to situations weren't outrageous, but fit with someone who is trying to discover where they went wrong. I liked the secondary characters, but I felt that some of them felt a little flat and could have been fleshed out a bit more to make me care about them just a bit more. All around I enjoyed this book, I like the lessons learned and I really liked Olivia.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review

Although I didn't think the storyline was believable or that it would be the way anyone would go about trying to save a broken marriage, I loved the journey and the travelling. So from the basis of a feel good read it ticked all the boxes. A good bit of escapism fiction.

As a successful divorce attorney, Olivia Hamilton didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about the emotional fallout from the dissolution of marriage – until she gets served divorce papers herself. In an attempt to start over and find a new purpose, she goes on a year-long around the world adventure. Still, even on the other side of the world, Olivia’s thoughts keep returning to her soon to be ex husband. Is there a way to salvage their marriage? To be honest, I was hoping Olivia would keep up with the world traveling, much better than any marriage any day

A year chasing love by Rosie chambers.

Olivia Fitzgerald nee Hamilton is the top London divorce lawyer of the year . She is completely floored when she is served with her own divorce papers out of the blue. Her boss then imposes a year long sabbatical to find herself and rejuvenate her life. Her best friend who is a university professor is studying what makes people stay married for a lifetime & asked her to do some field studies around the world as to what her finds are and to meet with other university lecturers in different countries. She writes her own guide of love & happiness of her finds all the while wondering if she will reconcile with Nathan her soon to be ex husband who is thousands of miles away. Finally she find out about herself from her journey.

Lovely book to read and all about lessons learnt and missed while living your life and neglecting nearest and dearest, unintentionally, whilst working to be the best you can be. Happy and sad funny and beatiful sentiment of life travelled and passing you by unintentionally.

Look forward to her next book.

I received an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review! This book is a great book for all people, who are considering a relationship to those who are in a relationship. The main character of this book was very realistic and reminded me of women of today. The plot line was very simple and not very complex, which made it easy to pick up the story after putting down the book throughout the day. There was a lot of flashbacks, which is to be expected for this character's development throughout her journey. Throughout her travels, the main character describes many of the sights using great details that makes me want to take a trip to the different places she went to. The different people she met made different impacts on her self discovery. I enjoyed the supporting characters, but found their place in the book was just for the relationships they had in their lives. I wished some of the minor characters were more developed and would enjoy a book about her two best friends! The ending of the book was very enjoyable and complete. I would have enjoyed seeing the 12 points, written throughout the book, on a back page of the book altogether! I will enjoy reading any books this authors writes!

I really had high hopes for this second chance marriage story that was not precipitated by infidelity. Nathan, the husband, had decided to end his marriage to Olivia. Although cast as the antagonist, throughout this tale Nathan was nothing more than an enigmatic secondary plot point.

Theoretically, this story was about Olivia's self-realization of her contributions to the demise of their marriage. In the wake of her divorce papers' being served, Olivia's employer imposed a 10-month sabbatical forcing her to reevaluate her priorities and commitments.

Her friend, Rachel, convinced her to utilize her respite to travel and do some research on the secrets of a successful marriage. However, prior to her sojourn, Olivia was already well aware that the disintegration of her marriage was of her own doing. As the story progressed, what should have been a mission of self-discovery metastasized into a continuous turn of self-flagellation. At no point in time did Olivia consider fighting to win back her soulmate, Nathan. She just shrugged it off and hopped onto another flight, off to her next destination filled with guilt and recrimination. Sadly, this approach made the narrative seem redundant and tedious.

I really, really liked this premise—so much potential—I just would have loved to have seen it executed in a different manner.

Thank you to NetGalley, HQ Digital, and Rosie Chambers for an ARC of 'A Year of Chasing Love' in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
