Ah finally a book about my friends when we get old(er) lol. A group of older ladies who have been friends forever decide to solve a mystery. In the process they end up in bars, strip clubs…I don’t want to the ruin the storyline for you! If y’all know me when I get my wild hair colors going, just picture me and my fellow friends lol

I chose to read Grey is the New Black (Guerrilla Grannies Book 1) because of the amusing cover, and the blurb promising thrills and laughter in the company of five mature single ladies.

This book kicks off the series by explaining how the Guerrilla Grannies were formed. The grannies coordinate their first adventure, unmasking and delivering a bank robber to the police, and are then recruited by a secret agency to covertly bring more criminals to justice.

Unfortunately this one was just not for me. It came close to ending up in the 'DNF' pile, but I pushed on to finish it. I rolled with the story, but didn't find it as amusing or entertaining as the blurb suggested it would be.

Guerilla granies... after reading these words I was expecting something better than what I actually got. I wasn’t very thrilled by this book. It was quite okay. That’s my honest opinion.

I had no idea what to expect from this book but who can resist a cover with a cute dog in a wig and cool shades? Obviously not me. This book is about five women of a certain age who are life-long friends. They are more than capable of creating a plan and carrying it to fruition. When they work together just about anything is possible. I like these characters and was cheering for them during their capture of a criminal. The story has just the right amount of humor. The first book in the Guerrilla Grannies series is a hit with me.

I was more than happy I read this ARC because it's entertaining and fun to read.
I liked the plot, the well developed characters and the humour.
I hope to read other books in this series.
