I was pretty much hooked right from the start with the mention ‘moose goose’ and love buns. I giggled and cheesy-grinned so much while reading this book, because IT’S. THAT. GOOD. And don’t even get me started on the ‘special’ local bikini wax!

Other things I loved about it were Graham’s attitude toward and treatment of the customers.... It was like the more rude he was, the more people wanted to come, and that totally backfired for Graham. And don’t get me started on Jake! He was the perfectly adorable and love-able little sidekick. I could even picture him in all his little doggy outfits!

Zoey was just so darn cute! She’s relatable, down to earth, and I felt so bad for her with every disaster in her dream vacation. But she tried so hard not to let any of that ruin it for her. She tried to find positivity in each situation, as it all went to hell in a handbag. I think my only tiny gripe would the lack of backstory for Zoey. I would loved to known more as to why Alaska was such a dream for her.

Overall I thought this book was fun, flirty, not overly steamy, and had just the right amount of romance. (My heart melted every time Graham called her Zoey-bear and darlin’.) I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light and easy read full of chemistry, humor and witty banter.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for the copy of the E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am grateful to have received an ARC , so all thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for it.

This book was a delight from the very first chapter. I mean seriously it has one of the grumpiest heroes of all time but he is sweet at the same time. It's so rare to read a book that you really really enjoy but this book is special. I really really loved it! The scenes were hilarious, the characters were just sweet and grumpy at the same time and the romance made go 'Awwww' on more than one occasion. If you are on home quarantine, then I suggest you read it as soon as you can then you will find yourself at the middle of Alaska's wilderness with a hot and sarcastic hero then you won't be as bored as you are feeling right now. Seriously this book is so good and I can't wait to read the next in the series. I have found a new favourite author and I will definitely recommend it if you are a fan of small town holiday romance with lots of drama involved along with cute animals.

Happy reading!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. I'll be posting my review on Goodreads and Amazon

Oof I feel bad rating it 3 stars but it wasn't the most memorable book. A tiny bit predictable in the way it followed a lot of other typical romcoms. It was a bit slow and I didn't totally love the characters. It was a tad unbelievable and I found myself speed reading some parts so I could finish. Maybe it's for other people who are less critical about their romcoms. I can be a bit picky and a harsh critic. But I seem to be in the majority on this one.

Ooh what a draaaaaagg. I really tried to like this one, but it ended up being a DNF ed. Not only was it so slow, but i never got the chemistry between Zoey and Graham.

Not memorable at all.

This was such a sweet and fun romcom! It was super light, an easy read, and made for a perfect reading experience outside during the summer. It was super sweet and the banter between characters was perfect.

The Tourist Attraction:
Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Sara Morgenthaler for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
I’ve been desperate for a truly feel-good, light read for these hot summer days. I feel like lately every romance i’ve picked up has just been a little too heavy for my mood. I was looking for a good Hallmarkish book and ding ding ding, I finally found it! I just had to go to Alaska to find it. I could tell pretty early on that this was more of a fluffy read so I wasn’t disappointed in the lack of any real depth. This was all hot and gruff Alaskan local and timid, sweet tourists. Cliches are cliches because they work and this works. I’m hoping there’s more books set in this town because there were too many great side characters to not make a visit again soon. ca

The Tourist Attraction is a sweet and funny love story, it was a little slow for me at times but I still enjoyed it and loved the Alaskan setting. I can’t wait to read another book from this author.

I was having a hard time deciding what exactly I wanted to review this but I think I'm going to stick with a two-star rating. In a way, it doesn't feel right to give it such a low rating but it has to be done. If you were to ask me what this book is about, what happened between the characters, etc., I wouldn't be able to tell you. I don't have much memory about anything going on, I was easily distracted from reading or kept replaying it to understand what happened. Something about this wasn't clicking with me. It wasn't capturing my attention in the way that I hoped it would.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were so easy to love and relate too, particularly the two main characters and the locals. The story line was easy to follow and the chapters were not too long, which is something I always really enjoy in a book.

this book was really cute! I'm not a huge instalove kinda person, but I felt like for such a sweet romcom this one was done really well. I've been pumped to see this one all around the internet :)

I loved Graham and Zoeys interactions and can't wait to see how the rest of this series plays out!

The heroine, Zoey went on a two weeks vacation in Alaska. She met Graham there who owns a diner called The Tourist Trap.

At first the book went really slow for me. Then the middle got very interesting and enjoyable. I love the banter between character.s. Oh plus I love the dog who wear outfits and Ulysses the moose!

Since this is a vacation romance, the book gets predictable at times. There was a push and pull between Zoey and Graham. The conflict of the story was not heavy. It was very light and again you can predict it. The ending was predictable too but it was so damn cute!

Still would recommend this and will read more from this author. This book is a perfect summer read that will make you want to go to Alaska!

4.5 ⭐️ The Tourist Attraction was our pick for last week’s buddy read. It was exactly what I needed after reading a book I didn’t like and had gotten me in such a bad mood 😒 First page of this book had me laughing! I’m not exaggerating, you will laugh a few times while reading the first page for sure! The whole book was pretty hilarious so if you need something light, funny and cute this is the book you should read next! @sarahmorgenhaler was super kind and joined our end of book Webex chat (courtesy of sweet @stacy40pages) and it was sooo much fun! It was great to learn about her writing process and some things that weren’t in the book, like what song did Zoey sing and dance to during karaoke 🙈 😂 and what personal story inspired her to write this great book. This is the first book in a series, with the next 3 coming out soon! Mistletoe & Mr. Right is next and I can’t wait to read it! And Sarah already promised she will join us for that one too! I’m so excited and I don’t even have it YET. 😂

❤️ Bun obsessed Ulysses the moose. Every single one of his appearances is hilarious! ❤️ It’s based in gorgeous Alaska and it had me googling places and falling in love with beautiful scenery. ❤️ I loved grumpy Graham, he owns the The Tourist Trap, a diner that was never meant to be a long term plan, where there isn’t a menu, just a whiteboard that reads “Menu: Same crap we always have” and the special is “Whatever you jerks didn’t eat yesterday.” 😂 Like i said, this book is hilarious ❤️ There is a happy ending 😊 ❤️

👎🏼 I missed having Zoey’s backstory and getting to know her family. I feel that would have add more depth to the character. I Hope to get to know more about her in the next book 😊

👍🏼 I also love that there was very little steam and the language was mostly clean 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 That’s always a plus for me. 👍🏼 Graham’s parents were so cute and funny too. The whole scarf conversation 😆

💎 “She didn’t know this man, but somehow, she believed him completely.”
“Opposites attract, but some people have forward momentum, and some prefer their lives to be in a holding pattern.”
“There. No one puts Zoey in a corner.” “I’m literally in a parking lot with no corners.” 😆
““I didn’t get some of the memories I thought I’d wanted. But right here, just like this, you’re giving me memories I didn’t know I needed.”

I really, really tried to like this. I struggled through the first third of it with my best effort, but in the end I just couldn't get through it, and DNFed. I didn't really feel like there was much chemistry between the main character and the love interest, and the plot felt a little whiplash-y to me. It seemed like a cute effort, and it probably just wasn't for me. I would definitely give the author another try though.

Well this was adorable. One of the best romantic comedies I've read in awhile, I was definitely rooting for Graham and Zoey right out of the gate. Funny, full of small town charm, an adorable dog, and the beautiful Alaskan wilderness, The Tourist Attraction made me smile right until the last page.

This book was a definite need to read during this pandemic. It brought you to a world of love.

It was charming, cheerful and just what I was looking for.

You all know I’m a sucker for an Alaskan love story. I went into this tentative because you love something so much, you don’t know how a story could be different enough to grab you. But man oh man did Graham grab me. There was nothing about this story that wasn’t planned out, there were very few things that rubbed me wrong, and so many reasons I need more. I might not eat one of his “dogs” but I fell for Graham right along with Zoey. I honestly might add more to this review later, my heart is so full it can’t comprehend anything else right now.

Sarah Morgenthaler’s cute romcom The Tourist Attraction features a grumpy diner owner and a shy tourist staying in the neighboring resort that he hates.

Truck stop waitress Zoey Caldwell wants to take in all the Alaskan sites she can before she returns home.

Graham Barnett hates running a diner and could do without the tourists flooding his town every year.

They meet at his diner and meet again in an unfortunate chainsaw incident and soon start spending a lot of time together. But they’re on somewhat opposite sides of the tourist thing and Zoey’s not staying in town long.

The Tourist Attraction starts a little slow for me but by the end I really enjoyed it.

Some of the beginning plot elements didn’t entirely endear the book to me. For example: Graham’s no tourist policy at his home, even when it comes to Zoey, feels petty and his frustrated response to how other locals view Zoey seems hypocritical.

And the initial attraction between Zoey and Graham seems so casual. Maybe it’s because I’m used to a more aggressive zip of attraction between leads but the spark between them doesn’t come across as very strong at first.

But I was won over by Zoey’s spirit & how she challenges Graham—her explanation of manspreading and critique of his hypocrisy are particularly nice. How funny they are together and how absurd the dialogue sometimes becomes. His efforts to defend her and to tease her out of her shyness. And their conversations about consent. Shout-out also to Morgenthaler for featuring two leads who aren’t college grads and a heroine who’s happy doing what she does, even if some of the characters try to humiliate her for it.

Like in the beginning, there are a couple of things about the end of the book that aren’t pitch perfect for me—for example, I couldn’t help being aware of the white privilege of the airport scene—but the final pages are so cute.

Morgenthaler’s a distinctive voice and I’m looking forward to seeing where she takes her characters next!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my complimentary ARC; all opinions provided are my own.

The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler
Zoey has always dreamed of taking a trip to Alaska and saved her tips from her waitressing job to get there. Her wealthy friend , Lana, offered to share her suite at the upscale resort in town and to show her around the area. Lana takes Zoey to a diner called The Tourist Trap where she catches the eye of the handsome owner, Graham.
What happens next is what you would expect in a book about romance, but put together in a very entertaining and captivating way. I enjoyed reading about Alaska and the beautiful descriptions of the mountains, glaciers, and wildlife there. The characters were likeable and the romance paced appropriately for the two week vacation. The comedy was fun and clever, and there were a few surprisingly emotional moments that added to the depth of the story and tugged at my heart.
This is a great read for anyone wanting a little romance and to take a trip to Alaska with some very interesting characters! Thank you to Sourcebooks Casa and Net Galley for my gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Tourist Attraction takes readers on a fun, flirtatious excursion that provides a welcome escape from real life these days, although it's a bit predictable along the way. Join Zoey and Graham as they navigate their determination not to fall for each other with a time limit on the romance. Of course Graham has no desire to spend any more time than necessary with the tourists who have made his diner a wild success, despite his best intentions. Zoey is thrilled to have finally made her way to Alaska on the trip of her dreams. Even when none of her activities go as planned, she is having a great time. But for some reason this particular tourist gets under Graham's skin, and Zoey finds herself equally unable to resist his charms. Their antics are fun, and the tropes are plenty. Enjoy a new setting for your light romance in the picturesque, characterful town of Moose Springs.
