Graham resents the tourists that overrun his small town in Moose Springs, Alaska every summer, though his business depends on the tourists for its success. And then, a tourist named Zoey walks into his restaurant. She's something else, someone he just can't seem to resent like all the others. In fact, he's downright smitten, even if he can't admit it to himself.

Thank you to netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Zoey’s on a two week dream vacation to Alaska. She’s saved all her money, eaten nothing but Ramen, and done everything possible to be able to come to Alaska with her best friend Lana whose there for work. On Zoeys first night, Lana brings her to the Tourist Trap, owned and run by Graham. As Lana becomes busier with work, Zoey and Graham start hanging out more. What will happen once Zoeys vacation is over?

This is the first book I’ve read by Sarah Morgenthaler and it won’t be the last! It was well written, fun, and a quick read. I enjoyed exploring Alaska through Graham, a locals perspective and really felt like I was there with him and Zoey. I loved Zoeys personality too. While certain excursions on her trip may not have gone as planned, she stayed upbeat and enjoyed every aspect of each day. Graham was also a great character, and I could really picture him in Alaska working at his restaurant. And Ulysses! LOVED his and Graham’s weird friendship. And who couldn’t love Jake!! I’m excited to read Lanas story in October!

If you’re looking for a quick, fun and adorable read, check this book out when it comes out in May!

Oh, Alaska how I've grown to love you through novels. This book does a fantastic job of selling the state as well as small-town living. The story of a small-town girl with a dream to travel to majestic Alaska and experience everything she possibly can while there. Then meeting the grumpiest of tourist hating Alaskan men on her very first night in town. Naturally, sparks must fly.

I loved the dynamic between Graham and Zoey, they each bring so much to the table with their vibrant personalities and quirks. Together however short the time frame a true bond worthy of envy is formed. Even when I wanted to slap one or both of them upside the head for their choices, I still loved them to pieces.

I want to visit the Tourist Trap. I want to see moose (from afar, safely, out of their way). I want to drink a Growly Bear, I'll pass on the Reindeer dog though thanks...Most of all I want to return to Moose Springs Alaska with its wonderful inhabitants and I absolutely can not wait to do so when book two of this series releases later this year!

The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler an attractive five-star read. This is just simply adorable and fun to read, I don’t know if I need to put more for my review as overall this is the equivalent of a warm summer day lazing about with friends, its funny and quirky and has that sense of relaxing you and drawing you in. The setting of Moose Springs Alaska is amazing, the characters are all well plotted and fun, even down to one character’s amazing wardrobe. But most of all Zoey and Graham will make you feel part of their story. This series has legs to go far and I cant wait for number two.

After finishing The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler I had a ton of mixed feelings. On one hand I loved the book, it was light and fluffy and a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon, but on the other hand I was upset. It took me a while to figure out why I had such a dislike for a book that would (and did) check off all the boxes I usually look for in a romance novel. I finally realized that I was expecting a different book based on the back of the book description. (Spoilers ahead) After reading the description for The Tourist Attraction I expected to read a novel with a grumpy hero and a slow build romance, where the heroine was in the restaurant for a lot longer than one night before any real interaction occured. But when I read the book I saw that our hero wasn't grumpy but more like a kid pulling pranks, and an interaction between our main characters happened within a couple hours after meeting one another. So on the end I was upset that I read a different book than I was lead to believe (a slow building romance) versus what it actually was (a fluffy humourous romance). In the end I enjoyed the book and had a fun time reading it, I'd even recommend it to others with the catch being not to base your idea of the book on the description found on the back.

I enjoyed the characters and the premise of this book drew me in. I have always wanted to go to Alaska and I couldn't wait to see it through Zoey"s eyes; however, the story kind of fell flat. I enjoyed the relationship developing between Zoey and Graham but I had a hard time enjoying the rest of the story. I'm glad I read it and enjoyed it but it wasn't a favorite.

The Tourist Attraction is a rom com with the emphasis on com! I was laughing out loud frequently at the rotating cast of hilarious characters. The central relationship is between Zoey and Graham. Graham is a local restauranteur in a small Alaskan resort town who meets Zoey when she dines (and maybe drinks too much) at his establishment. Even though he has a strict “no tourists” policy, Graham can’t resist Zoey who is different than the trust fund kids who typically vacation in town.

This was a very quick and fun read. I loved the witty dialogue between the main characters and all the supporting characters really added to the story. I thought the last 10% of the book was resolved too quickly but the build-up to that point was great. Would definitely recommend for a fun summer read.

Ugh. Did not like. Sadly I could not get into this novel. The romance felt flat the town was to chaotic to survive. Very contrived plot.

I HAVE to go to Alaska. This book was fun, loving, adventurous and just good for the heart. This book made me feel like I was in Alaska, falling in love with each of Zoey's adventures and endeavors. This is one of those books that you finish just feeling lighter and like you just came back from vacation.

Super cute, super fun rom com from Sarah Morgantheler. I do think she is setting up for future stories, which I will definitely be excited to read.

Fans of Christina Lauren will delight in The Tourist Trap!

Definite four star read.

Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had a hard time getting into this book. I liked the general plot, out-of-towner meets grumpy local. That's a classic trope with lots of potential, but the characters weren't as developed as they should be. I felt like I was thrown into a story with Graham and Lana (Zoey's friend), but just kidding, it's about Graham and Zoey. It was a tropey rom-com filled with hi jinks like Zoey and Graham getting arrested, Zoey getting too drunk her first night in Alaska, etc. Overall, it's a surface-level romcom that is a good read for a long flight.

Graham and Zoey's romance is wildly funny and adorable, especially with the breath-taking backdrop of Alaska. The tourist versus Alaskan native struggle gives the book, and relationship, some spice and problems for the characters to work out.

I loved this book so much. I don't usually get into the plots when I review, because I have a bad tendency of dropping major spoilers, so I won't say anything. Dang though, this was so fun! I thought about it when I wasn't reading it and couldn't wait to sit down with it, that being said, I didn't want it to end. I cannot wait until its released, I am making it my 'staff pick' at work as soon as we get it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read it!

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. I gave it the old college try and made it over 50% of the way through it but I found myself not really enjoying the story or the characters. The plot sounded promising, a grumpy diner owner is Alaska and the tourist that fall for each other. The characters seemed one-dimensional to me and the side characters also didn't add very much to the story. There wasn't much backstory for any of the characters and that lack of storytelling left me disconnected from the characters. I didn't really get them or their motivations and in turn I felt that the romance really fizzled. No chemistry. Other readers might enjoy this book but it wasn't for me.

‘The Tourist Attraction’ is quirky romcom by Sarah Morganthaler and certainly fits the ‘cute’ label, with a ton of secondary characters adding squiggly (and sometimes unbelievably complicated) lines and flavour to the plot. But that was also where it also unfortunately stalled for me.

After the witty, entertaining start, ‘The Tourist Attraction’ seemed to consist of more fumbling, awkward moments—all calculated to be rom-com funny—but in doing so, compromised on depth and perhaps, emotional entanglement that didn’t go beneath the snappy and cute one-liners. There were interesting bits but bigger and bigger pockets of lull and scenes that didn’t seem to build to anywhere, and if it was wild to begin with, I started increasingly skimming towards the middle and end when Morganthaler simply added on Zoey Caldwell’s bucket list and her increasing ‘bumps’ into Graham Barnett.

Graham wasn’t all I expected, but then, maybe I’d become accustomed to reading about the typical (and fictional) mountain man living in the remote bits of the country. Instead, the odd levity that his character had and his inexplicable attraction to Zoey made him very much a surface protagonist in some ways; I was waiting for the other side of the coin to drop or a tragic revelation in some aspect of his life but it never did. Ditto with Zoey who by and large, created little conflict with her entrance, only that she and Graham didn’t entirely make the world’s most interesting or eye-catching couple that I was solidly for or against.

Essentially, I came off the book slowing asking myself what the point was—admittedly there’s little romantic and familial drama that would appeal to some readers—and couldn’t quite figure it out even after Graham and Zoey finally made out into their sunset…obviously a case of just me.
