I tried a couple of times to read this book but it was too odd for me. I was not able to connect to the primary characters or the goals that drive them
It is an interesting premise but not for me. If you are interested in an odder slightly humourous take on alien life, this is something that you might like!

Unfortunately I could not finish this book, it just wasn't for me, I read 11% and couldn't connect to the characters and wasn't pulled into the story.

The writing is good and the descriptions are well done it just didn't engage me as a reader.

I, therefore, will not be reviewing it on Goodreads, Amazon etc as I believe my opinions would be unfair on the author.

My apologies.

This was a bit bonkers, but very enjoyable - if you like your sci-fi with a dash of humour! Our hapless "hero" gets rescued by Martians after believing he has blown up the 1st Earth mission to Mars.

Thank you Willie Handler, BooksGoSocial and NetGaalley for the ARC. Loved Mars, Hated the Food is a satirical romp below the surface of Mars. There are laugh out loud moments which is what I was looking forward to. A grumpy robot and unique, quirky Martians help make the story light hearted and fun to read. Mixed within the story are comments on discrimination and social justice. I will read further works by Willie,

Quite funny. Very creative story telling. A pretty easy read and tightly written. This is an author that knows to write in his wheelhouse. Recommended.

I really appreciate the review copy!!

A quirky, amusing book.
A NASA colony has been set up on Mars, but suffers a devastating explosion.
Dixon Jenner, the chef is the sole survivor. He was rescued by a Martian couple Beeker and Seepa who offer him accommodation and safety in exchange for being able to study him.

He lives on Mars - or rather beneath the surface - for a year trying to hide his human identity.

The book was fun and characters were all rather likeable.

I do hope there is a sequel.
