Arthur the Fly-Slayer & the Forty Dragons are absolutely adorable!! There are many folks who are going to be very surprised to find out that this is not a "King Arthur" story. It's a sweet book about a young scamp. Arthur spends the majority of his days trying to get out of work. He is an apprentice to his father, who is a blacksmith. But, Arthur prefers sleeping under a tree. Until the flies start "bugging" him. Then, it's WAR!

The story has it all! Dragons, swords, kids being kids! The illustrations are a pure delight! They really help the reader connect with Arthur and his shenanigans! This will be a fantastic tale to read over the course of a few evenings with your little ones. Boys and girls alike are going to enjoy guessing what happens next!

As an elderly grandfather I enjoyed this story along with nice illustrations. With my 8 year old grandson who is into Minecraft he thought it was for a younger child whereas my 5 year granddaughter appreciated the book only not in one reading. The story reminded me of my first book 'My First Book of Fables' and hopefully young ones that enjoy this story will also remember Arthur with fondness.
