This is a sweet story about making a contribution how you can. It can be a good way to start a conversation about how the kids can make their own contributions even if they think they are too small or don't have any talents.

He's the only odd colored wolf in their litter. He's white and he's a runt. The other wolves want to abandon him because he's so small and won't survive. They don't even if it means they must hunt for him. His white fur doesn't camouflage him from the animals...

AuthorHouse and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published and you can get a copy now.

He stays through summer but when winter is setting in there is less food. He decides to go off by himself instead of being a hardship on his family. Imagine his surprise when he attempts to catch a rabbit and does! It seems his fur hides well in snow...

He goes down to get a drink out of the creek and finds his sister drowning. He's lightweight enough he can save her. And now he can hunt for his family and help them out, so he goes home. He's not a burden anymore...

This story is a simple story, told many times before about what makes you different can often turn out to be an advantage. A nice lesson for little ones. What I didn't care for as a parent was that there was jeering by the white wolf's siblings and they were the ones that wanted him removed from the pack and to die. While this might be true in nature, it sure makes for a difficult story to explain to a little one.

What a sweet book! This is a great story to teach children that everybody is a little different and has different strengths and weakness. A great story for children of all ages. Thank you AuthorHouse via NetGalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is a sweet book that shows that being different isn't a bad thing and that we all have something to offer. Somehow I didn't quite like the illustrations and found them a bit too "computerish", but perhaps it's just me being a bit difficult.

A wonderful book for children from ages 3-8 would be my guess. Under 7 years would probably need it to be read to them which would be way more fun anyway. The story teaches that although all the little wolf pups have a talent even the most unlikely runt and different colored white pup. It may take some time and sadness but even that most unlikely pup will find his strength, bravery, and talent too. He may even become a hero and be loved.
Great book for kids (and I liked it too).
Thanks to the author Lee Allen, Netgalley and Bookbuzz publishing.
I hope Mr. Allen writes more and maybe even borrows a few of his grandmothers' stories to be heard again.

This is an adorably illustrated book about how our differences add strength to our society. While the small white wolf is weak and unable to hide and hunt during the summer, he's the only one able to do so during the winter. The message is a good one and I recommend it for little animal lovers. One word of warning: It does have a scene where a rabbit is killed, so if this will upset your little one, you may want to give it a pass.

What a lovely tale! Everyone has something to offer, even if it's not apparent at first. I loved the illustrations in the story; so sweet. I think children can learn a lot from this tail. Kudos Lee Allen.
