Nope, not for me it seems.
This was just so incredible boring. Not much plot, the smut was boring and bland.

Tempt Me by Diane Demetre is a romantic story of Michele.
Michele is a forty-two year old woman who is recently divorced. She decides to explore her singledom passionately. She meets Mark who is a said under cover cop. He unveils a sexual side of Michele which she never knew existed in herself. After a week, Mark goes back to his wife.
Michele meets another special man Nick who woes her. Though Michele thinks that he is not her type in the beginning, Nick proves her wrong.
The story is all about where these both intriguing men stand in Michele's life by the end of the story.
These two men play a very important role in Michele's life. There are many erotic scenes in the book. The three girlfriends of Michele are wonderful and supporting. The story as a whole is entertaining but I didn't see the end coming. A quick read but not my kind of book..

Really slow and the characters are hold to get emotionally attached to. Are independant and strong women really this gullible and lacking in common sense. Not for me. I like erotica but prefer my characters to be worth spending time with.

Beyond professional success as a dancer at the iconic Moulin Rouge and a tony event planning firm, Michele “Chele” Johnston has had a rough sixteen years married to her bisexual business partner, who was more self-centered housemate than devoted husband. Divorce has left her financially strapped and feeling sexually liberated. Her three best friends encourage her to explore her options as a grown and sexy independent woman.

Tempt Me begins in 1999. Its live-for-the-moment tone evokes the excesses of that era with a gold limousine, recreational cocaine and Ecstasy usage as a few of those touchstone references. Michele’s journey happens in Australia, but the spirit of Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell infuses it with a dab of Jackie Collins decadence. Enduring friendship among four grown women who support and encourage each other through life’s challenges anchors the emotional substance of this sexy tale. Multiple references to the unattainable happily-ever-after fairytales sold to girls and women provide relevant social commentary about fantasy versus reality in hetero romantic relationships. Michele’s first attempt at a one-night stand turns into much more with mysterious yacht captain Mark Miller, and later with a Greek business tycoon.

Unfortunately, outdated language and attitudes undercut the strengths in storytelling and characterization. Early in Tempt Me Michele is in public as “… she stepped nimbly into a space just vacated by a large Negro man.” In the foreword the author acknowledges that this edition is an update of an earlier version. This passage makes a reader wonder if Tempt Me was originally published in the 1950s. And the pattern of jarring anachronisms continues from there. Unsafe sex practices, glorification of toxic masculinity, equating skinny with healthy, and Michele’s frequent acts of willful blindness and cringe-worthy justifications for her hypocritical behavior stand out prominently. It’s the hypocrisy of her actions that unravels enjoyment of this titillating story because it makes it difficult to cheer for Michele to end up with either one or both of the men who reveal themselves to be the opposite of charming.

Diane Demetre is a talented storyteller who writes fun, steamy erotic romance about adults in love.

This book was so addictively bad that I kept reading it just to know what the hell the author would pull next 😂 I managed to finish the whole damn book even when I wanted to DNF it 50 pages in, kudos to me if I do say so myself.

Writing style: It's simple, to the point with a mayor lack of details. There's is no real story here aside from a 42 year old getting laid and that's really not enough to call it a good book. Definitely when the smut scenes aren't even written that well. I could barely follow what they were up to and what position they were in...

Characters: oh God, these characters are all so badly written its hilarious. The MC's girlfriends have no personality whatsoever and are all horny as fuck. The men are all toxic, but are being portrayed as caring and loving and just the perfect males. BIG HELL NO.

Masculine toxicity: We first have Mark, who keeps secrets, turns out to be an ex-cop with serious drug problems and the MC snorts Coke with him like she doesn't have any bounderies and will just do whatever a man tells her to... He also turns out to be married and she still wants him, she still let's him fuck her, but she doesn't want to be anyone's mistress... Girlllll look around you... Then there's Nick who doesn't take no for an answer. Keeps insisting on having sex with her even though she's said time and again that she doesn't want him. He wooes her with expensive dinners and whatnot and suddenly she's in love with him...

Inner voice: the MC has an inner voice/cheerleader whom she calls Sex Goddess. CRINGE WORTHY SHIT RIGHT THERE YIKES.

Uuuuh yeah, the fact that this book is written by a woman is even more disturbing. Oh, and the synopsis promising a book about a threesome? You have to read until the last 20 or so pages to finally get that threesome. And then the scene sucks so bad that you want to rip your hair out. God, this book was really bad. The author really doesn't know where she wanted to go with her story, didn't know her characters well enough and has never heard of writing a good plot twist or the whole 'show not tell' principle... 1 star for this disaster of a book.

This felt like reading a porn written by a 50 year old virgin.

The word "mound" should never be uses.
