This was a great suspenseful book. The author did a great job getting inside the characters heads and made it an easy, fast read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for review.

Downright creepy story that sent shivers down my spine as I read it. The obsession by one is a chilling idea which this author takes to a whole other level with the depth of background into how these obsessions could happen. The main characters are well written and draw you into the story and keep you there.

This was one of the most scariest books I have ever read on a man's obsession for a woman.

Rupert saw Charlotte. Rupert wanted Charlotte. At any cost.

My third book by author Miranda Rijks, I gave to say this author is pretty scary in the way her mind could think up the dark scenes and write them. The book extremely easy to read, I could finish it in a couple of hours. The horror in the scenes kept rising as I turned the pages and I couldn't yet stop reading. I blame the author for putting me in a trance.

The story may seem to be known, but the feeling of helplessness, impending danger, and need to escape were real. I was quite amazed that the author evoked those emotions from me in a few short lines. The words stringed together did have the power to make me feel so much. I desperately wanted Charlotte to run, run far away.

Oh my the horrors in the book would remain with me for a long time. Fast paced, short chapters, and a need to escape made this book a fantastic breakfast read. I think I needed to know if Rupert got his just, just to escape him. Hence the pages turned faster.

Whew!! What a book.

I quite enjoyed this. It kept me hooked though I kept wondering why she would go off and stay at a random strangers house (even if he is loaded). A good read.

An excellent novel! The writer has a beautiful and seamlessly flowing narrating style and I literally could jot put the book down.

**Disclaimer: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.**

I went into reading "You Are Mine" expecting a stereotypical thriller where a naive woman falls in love with a guy that puts her in a situation that is "too good to be true." I certainly was not disappointed that Miranda Rijks delivers exactly that concept; however, the execution is poor.

Charlotte, or Charlie, is just flat out dumb. Rupert is a literary exaggeration of a posh Brit. The whole situation is unbelievable (Rupert pays Charlie 20k pounds to stay at his estate for ~6 weeks and paint his portrait).

Parts of the story drag on, so I feel the story could be condensed or cut due to redundancy.

The phrase “it seems too good to be true” applies to this suspenseful thriller! Although I found the beginning of the book to be a bit predictable, it was quite the page-Turner!

Like any good book by Miranda, I was not disappointed. I enjoyed this book a lot. It kept me up all night just so I could finish. The writing was great and the suspense was like being on a thrill ride. I loved this book and can't wait for the next one by Miranda.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Having read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it i did however feel spooked out, the main character is truly psychopathic and i felt as though he had got under my skin !!!!

Just downright disturbing, in all the right ways. Miranda Rijks has written a spine-tingling narrative highlighting a variety of noteworthy characters. The oddity of Sir Rupert, the suspicious undertones of the past, and outright creepy insinuations of the present make this a book a perfect addition to any bookshelf. Loved it. 5 stars.

I approached this story with a pretty good idea what it was going to be like and I wasn't disappointed. Like most of this author's stories, it revolves around a controlling man and his reluctant love interest. This time, the male villain, Rupert, is incredibly obsessed with Charlotte and extremely creepy. She is quite adamant that she has no feelings for him and he's determined to change her mind. She meets him at an art showing of hers where he buys multiple paintings and proposes that she come to his estate to paint his portrait for a high commission. For he is quite wealthy, as he constantly reminds her. She badly needs the money so she eventually accepts his offer, even though she gets uncomfortable vibes from him right from the start. It's just a quick stay in complete luxury, and her sister will know where she is, so it can't be that bad, right?

Well, if you know this author's work than you know the answer to that question! The bulk of the story, is set at his estate, where she tries to avoid him as much as possible while he does the exact opposite. And if you think you know why he's so obsessed, you may be surprised. I did enjoy the little twist near the end, it just makes him even creepier! It's a fun read and it kept my interest, if only to see how far Rupert would go with his weirdness!

Make sure you have time to read this one. This book has great character development, and I found myself reading it in one sitting. It is told from each person's point of view, which adds to the story. I really enjoyed it, and hope you will also.

Wow. This is one of those books that keeps you reading long into the night! The book flicks from past to present and told by various characters which works brilliantly.
A brilliant read and the storyline is so gripping. Rupert is one twisted character and I loved reading his side of the story and how his mind works. I worked out all the connections early on but loved how it all came together. I'll be highly recommending this book to others.

Oof. I really wanted to like this book but I just could not.

Olivia and Rupert are both incredibly annoying characters. Rupert is your stereotypical psychopath with mommy issues and Olivia is plain stupid.

I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn'.t

I haven’t read a Miranda Rijks book for a few months, and I’d forgotten what an amazing writer she is. I’d been reading some just ok books recently and really needed this refreshing and gripping Psychological Thriller.
It reminded me a little of ‘Gates of Paradise’ by V.C. Andrews whereby a girl is kept captive in a stately home, and there is incest involved. It only reminded me of this book (one of my favourites), but ‘You Are Mine’ had its own completely unique and enthralling story.
We meet Charlotte, an artist with a sorrowful past. On the opening night of her exhibition, she meets Rupert. He offers her an inordinate sum of money for her to do his portrait. When she arrives at his stately home, things turn from bad to worse, and she finds herself captive in a dangerous man’s house.
The chapters are interspersed with tidbits from Rupert’s past, and these start to build up the character and the reasons he is as he is in the present day. Everything that happens in the past becomes relevant for the unfolding story. It is very well put together.
I did guess all the twists, but this didn’t stop me enjoying them unfolding and the characters discovering the truth.
This was a brilliantly written novel, and I read it in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down. It had the perfect amount of apprehension and suspenseful moments. I didn’t know how Charlotte would be able to overcome everything that was happening to her, and this made for a gripping read.
This is a stand-alone Psychological Thriller by Miranda Rijks, and I highly recommend it.

Wasn't keen on this book, it didn't live up to my expectations and I didn't like the characters.

Thank you to Netgalley and Inkubator Books for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

This was a very creepy book! The main character Rupert is very psychotic and delusional Charlotte is a little too trusting. Who goes and stays at someone’s house that they don't know!? Some of it seemed ridiculous. It was a quick and easy read but I thought it was too drawn out and the ending rushed. Thank you netgalley for letting me give an honest review of this book.

Commissioned for a portrait painting (for 20,000 pounds), Charlotte drives 6 hours to Sir Rupert's mansion.
Rupert has been in love with Charlotte for a year and a half. Charlotte has no designs whatsoever on Rupert or his money. However, Rupert can be quite persistent.....

Fast-paced suspense story with some very entertaining characters.

A good read!

Many Thanks to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for a very good read.

I am a Miranda Rijks fan so I was so excited to read You Are Mine!

Unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. The plot is basic and not believable at all. I quickly got sick of both Rupert and Charlotte, neither of them has any redeeming qualities. There’s two twists in the story which are obvious. The writing is repetitive.

Honestly I don’t know what’s happened with You Are Mine but this isn’t the quality of story I was expecting. Honestly I hated this book it deserves zero stars.
