I LOVE this series! Donna Grant worked her magic again. Dark Alpha’s Temptation was a wonderful addition to the series and only made me want the next one!

In Dark Alpha's Temptation we get to know Dubhan, one of the Reapers under Eoghan's command. Kyra is attracted to Dubhan and he puts aside his search for Xaneth to get to know Kyra better. Kyra comes from an old Fae family, the Kavanaughs, and as a result she has several unique Fae abilities that come into play in the Reapers’ efforts to learn more about the Others. Based on Kyra’s analysis, Erith and Cael decide to seek out the Kings and Warriors in order to unite with them in the upcoming battle with the Others. In the interim, the Others have become aware of Kyra and they decide to target her. And where is Rhi???

Donna Grant has shown once again her amazing ability to create characters and situations that keep you eager for more. She has seamlessly blended this novel from her Reapers series with those in her series on the Dragon Kings. I enthusiastically look forward to all upcoming novels in both of these series.

This series just keeps getting better, nothing really gets solved for Death or the Reapers but more surprises. Can't wait for the next one

What a wondrous world the Reapers inhabit. I loved this book and the series as a whole. Kyra is a being full of light, kindness and street wisdom. Her light to Dubhan's dark creates an intense story I couldn't put down. Their private ceremony was perfect.

DARK ALPHA'S TEMPTATION continues the overarching story we know from the Dragon Kings series plus adds a romance for Dubhan and Kyra. Kyra is a light fae who has always felt like a bit of an outcast from her family and their expectations. She did feel really connected to her aunt, Eva, who was another black sheep, but Eva disappeared a few years earlier. Kyra assumes that she must be dead, as she would have otherwise returned.

When Kyra witnesses the battle the Reapers have during the epic one with Usaeil, she begins to realize what they are and forms a quick connection with Dubhan, knowing that there is something special about him. She begins to follow Dubhan, wanting to know more about him and also wondering if he might know about what happened to her aunt. When they finally meet, they share this connection and Dubhan asks for her help in decoding a symbol.

The journey leads them down a dangerous path and one where the Reapers begin to realize that they cannot stay out of what is to come.

This book really focuses on the couple, and I loved that. They do have a quick bond, but it's followed up with time together. They are both easy to like, and it was easy to see them coming together. In terms of the overarching story, we learn something very frustrating that I am a bit wary of, and I am curious to see how it will play out in future books. I did like that this one primarily focused on the couple, and enjoyed the romance aspects.

Overall, this is a good sequel in a strong series. While it could be read on its own, I think it is better to read more of these books, as the overarching story may be hard to follow. The romance stands on its own.

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I really loved the characters but I find the book to be quite short I would have liked to know more about them.

Kyra is a Light Fae Witch who has been following Dubhan around town for a few weeks. She does not know why. She just knows she has an all consuming urge to follow this Reaper who she watched during the Battle between the Light and Dark. When, Dubhan turns the tables and, corners her to ask why she has been following him, he has an all-consuming lust for this woman. She should not be his Mate. He never believed he would ever find a mate! Kyra should have not been able to see the battle!!
These two start working together, trying to find out what's really going on and, why, suddenly, the Others are after them!!!
I did not want to stop reading this book.
This series just keeps getting better with each book and, I can't wait for the next installment!!!

This wasn't my favorite one of the series but that's only because the series is so good. It really feels now that the series is ramping up in anticipation of a major ending. I think it will be the Avengers Assemble of the whole intertwined story lines. :)

Title: Dark Alpha's Temptation
Author: Donna Grant
Genre: Fantasy Romance
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
I came late to this series and the companion series of the Dragon Kings. I am thrilled to finally read about the Reapers. I fell for their unique brand of darkness while reading about the Dragon Kings.
I really like how this book continues the story of the last Dragon King book. So this is a standalone in a companion series and yet takes place as a contemporary to the existing storyline in the Dragon Kings world.
The Fae characters Grant creates, the characters in general, you can tell are trying to find their place in the world Fate chose for them. But, I have some issues here. In this book it takes forever to flesh our two main characters out. It doesn't feel natural as we get to know them. It takes forever just to find out Kyra's "job". She talks about being different constantly and needing to be who she is and her job is part of that but it takes until the middle of the book before we know what she does or why she is "different".
The other thing I really don't like is the insta-love. Two days together and you are head over heels? Sure Dubhan and the Reapers are fighting the good fight and you have a connection to each other but to want to spend eternity together? But that is more a personal preference so no biggie.
Yet a biggie to Kyra's and Dubhan's personal story, each of their family's involvement with the Others, Kyra's family secrets. I really think these things needed to be explored more and not just glossed over.
As usual Grant wrote a steamy book 4/5****
Characters need work 3/5 ***
Storyline 3.5/5 so rounded to 4/5 ****
Overall 4/5 ****

3.5 stars

Kyra and Dubhan were great as newbie friends, but fell short as long term lovers. Kyra was intelligent and had a good grasp of thinking outside the box with some very good ideas the Reapers hadn’t considered in the fight with the Dragon King’s and the Others. Then there’s Dubhan... okay, so he didn’t really leave an impression on me. Kyra really dominated the story and Dubhan sort of took a back seat to everything happening. Maybe that’s why he didn’t stand out for me?
At any rate, I liked the progression the Reapers have made and loved the deets being set up for the brewing battle, but I didn’t connect with the Kyra, Dubhan, nor their romance.

I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley/St. Martin’s Press and this is my honest review.

This was short enough for me to get through on a 2 hour train ride and still left me wanting more, even though these particular characters story had been seen through to the end. Yes it's a brand new set of characters stories in this author's overall series, as we see familiar faces and learn more news about the Others, the Kings etc.

I liked Kyra, her character really called to me and while she was not a warrior she had inner strength and the backbone to say it the way she sees it, this is done a few times in this novel and throws light onto an old situation. Both characters didn't fight this pairing and yes it did feel fast with the love declarations etc, but it worked.

Dubhan one of the reapers seven, yes he didn't know how to take her at first, but he came around quickly and for him she eased some of his past hurts. Light and dark, this worked and i liked it totally.

I think this is my favorite book in this series. Dubhan is a Reaper and one of the Death's rules is no one can know of the Reapers. So when he catches Krya stalking him it gets his attention. Krya is a White Fae who tries to live as a human, not using her magic. But once she has seen the Reapers in a battle and caught sight of Dubhan, she became smitten with him, even though he was a Dark Fae.

I liked the way Krya was so positive, smiling at everyone, being nice, enjoying simple things. It was as if she opened a new world for Dubhan. And the Reapers are still looking for Xaneth, I really hope they find him soon, I really want to see more of him.

This is my second novel in Donna Grant's Reaper series and I am planning on going back to read ALL the novels in the series. And probably every series Grant has written. Dark Alpha's Temptation has everything one expects in a paranormal romance - lots of mysterious happenings, some great suspense, and hot-burn-your-sheets-up sexy times. Mmmm....

I'm pretty sure Kyra and I would be great buddies. I especially liked how she did things the 'human' way. She's humble, but knows she can kick some ass when necessary. And Dubhan? He can eat crackers in my bed any time. I liked how the story of him becoming a reaper is interwoven into this story.

And now I need to read the next novel, because Grant may have given us a HEA with Kyra and Dubhan but there are still things amiss amongst the Fae and dragons. Impatiently waiting ....

Another addition to the Donna Grant dual series this one focuses on the reapers with plenty of talk about the Dragon Kings so if you will want to read this one or miss plenty of important details.

Dark Alpha’s Temptation
by Donna Grant

This book is a continuation of the Reapers series, with a bit of the Dragon Kings. These two stories follow intermittently together, so to better understand what is happening it’s recommend that you read both series in the author’s reading order.

This book brings us to the point after the demise of the Light Queen and also the Dark King.

We meet Kyra Kavanaugh a Light Fae, who is stalking a Reaper that caught her attention while they were fighting at the Light Castle. While watching him fight, she was engrossed in the way his body moved. And in that moment he became hers!

Dubhan was a Dark Fae, but he was now a Reaper. His mission was to locate Xaneth, who by Usaeil’s hand had disappeared without a trace. But his search is interrupted by a female who has been following him around.

After meeting and coming to an agreement, they work together to track down the meaning of a symbol that has never been seen before. And in doing this, it brings down a danger neither expected, but also raised more questions that needed to be addressed. This meant he needed his team, and with them, he was going to have to bring Erith and Cole in to update everyone on the situation on hand.

As new evidence comes into focus, Kyra is faced with life altering information that shatters her perception of who she is. Can Dubhan help her except what she now knows? And can she overcome her identity?

I enjoyed this story and look forward to the next in this series. If your a Donna Grant fan, you will too find this a great story with answers which also brings about more questions. But thats how Grant keeps us engrossed and hungry for more!

As always her storyline is well defined and plotted and her characters are strong yet relatable.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dubhan. Kyra. Reaper. Dark Fae. Light Fae. Suspense. Attraction. Passion. Danger. Soul Mates. Short and oh so sweet. I devoured this book in a day. I love the interaction with the Reapers, the Fae, and the Dragon Kings. You could read this book without having read the others, but trust me, you want to read them all! Thank you St. Martin's Publishing Group for the ARC to read and enjoy! #DarkAlphasTemptation #NetGalley

When a dark fae meets a light fae, sparks fly, Is it love, how can this be, Kyra wonders! Can she stay alive long enough to Find out?

I read and reviewed this advanced free complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley

Each book usually uncovers something new that leads us towards the future battle that is going to happen with the Others and the Dragon Kings. What we learn in this book is a bit frustrating. I really hope what they think is not what really is.

However, I did like this pairing. I like that there was no resistance from Dubhan, and I like how smart Kyra is. She may not be a warrior but she has the mind of a leader. She thinks of things others haven't, which looks like it will help in many ways.

I'm actually getting anxious to get to the battle. It's going to be epic and it's getting harder and harder to be patient.

What happens when a glass half empty man and a glass half full woman meet each other, with a sprinkling of fairy dust thrown in. This book is a continuation of the Reapers/Dragon Kings arc and picks up after the “great battle”. It focuses on the Reaper Dubhan and the Fae Kyra. Dubhan is searching for Xaneth but has found Kyra trailing him all over town. Kyra isn’t sure why she’s so drawn to Dubhan but she’s eager to help him with his mission. Along the way they meet other familiar faces and some new ones in their search for the truth, but all is not as it seems and what happened In the previous book may not bring eternal happiness as was previously thought. In a time of turmoil both Kyra and Dubhan must learn to trust themselves and each other to get to the truth as the Others are building their own war. For the best enjoyment of the book knowledge of the previous Reaper and Dragon Kings books is recommended as not much was reviewed (like in previous books of the series). The book is highly entertaining with lots of action and plot twists to keep you on your toes and the relationship between the two leads is hauntingly sweet as they both have faced life challenges that shaped their way of living. The heat between the two is hot , but not that much bedroom time (they are prepping for war!). 4.5 stars. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.
