This is a cute book with lots of ideas to try with kids. They learn the basics of various techniques such as pointillism, using masking tape in their art work, stenciling, mark making, perspective, and symmetry, etc. The instructions are easy to follow and fun for the kids. I also like how the author compares washi tape and masking tape or acrylic and tempera paints.

My 6 year old really enjoyed this book! He is a budding artist and the tips for setup really helped me to help him better in the process. He has a lot of pages bookmarked to try next. I just have to go to the store first! He says this book is a two thumbs up!

This is a fun book that sort of walks you through typical activities done in elementary art classes. Kids will learn how to draw simple drawings and then do drawing projects, make collages and mixed media artwork with tiny found objects, do print making with a variety of materials found around the house and so on. There are quite a few projects, most of which are suitable for kids of various ages. Most are inexpensive with easy to find materials like acrylic paint and cardboard. I loved the fact that the authors included a picture of a finished project by an actual child for each project instead of perfect adult versions. This would be a good resource for folks running art camps or homeschoolers looking for art inspiration. Most of the projects are pretty standard ones kids always did in elementary art classes when I was growing up, but I don't know if times have changed with less focus on the arts these days. In any case, kids and adults are likely to find some simple, fun ideas.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

The projects in this book are well organized and detailed. I would consider this book to be geared more towards a mid-level artists guide the beginning since many of the projects would require help and supervision by an adult but I enjoyed it and it has solid ideas for fostering creative exploration. I recommend this book for those with a little experience. Very well done. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

Great overall art book for kids want to explore a variety of media. The projects are very cute, the images are clear and instructions feel approachable. But underlying all the cuteness and non-intimidating approach, is a guide with solid art advice and a good variety of technique that will be useful for confident kid artists that want to learn more as well as kids who may feel less certain, but are interested in finding art projects that are a good fit for them.
