Fun read about Jesus and learning who our neighbors are. My son enjoyed this read. Perfect way to teach the Word to young children.

This book is for children. It will be a great book for parents or Sunday School teachers to introduce to the preschoolers and then as they learn to read will still enjoy reading themselves. The illustrations were good and will capture the Children’s attention.

Five stars. Another beautiful book from Our Daily Bread, one with an important lesson about loving our neighbors (and how that is defined in Scripture). As with others in this series, this one is sure to become a collectible, treasured possession. But again, we ask (despite a five-star rating and as with another in this series) . . . why is the "good" character in the story presented with lighter hair than the callous/indifferent ones? This is a subtle way to portray those with darker hair (the ancient Jewish people) in a negative light and those with lighter hair in a positive light.

This is a retelling of the parable of the Good Samaritan, with Jesus emphasizing what it means to be a good neighbor. The more realistic illustrations help to bring the story alive, which may help children better understand it. The questions that Jesus asks also lays a foundation for discussion with a young child, Further questions for parents to ask children are provided in the back of the book. I think Sunday School teachers will also find the questions useful if they read it in class.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for honoring my request for a review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a beautifully illustrated and presented book for children about Jesus and the gospel. This book teaches about 'who is my neighbour' about the man who was beaten by robbers and left for dead and the men who walked past ignoring him until a kind man stopped to help him. I loved the questions at the back of the book to go further in the understanding of this book.

This is a straight-forward version of the Good Samaritan parable. The text is simple and to the point. It starts out with a scene in which Jesus is leaning back against a tree next to a child and only his profile is shown (I appreciated that). As in the scriptures, he is being confronted by a law expert. The illustrations have mostly neutral colors with some splashes of brighter colors. The contrast of the starkness of the land in which the man is attacked, with the inn’s lightness where he receives care, resonates so well. The attack scene and aftermath may be scary for some to see on the page (maybe read with a caring adult the first time). The note in the back for parents/caregivers contains questions ideal for family, church, and classroom discussions. Thanks to Our Daily Bread for the e-galley.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In the Bible, Jesus used stories to teach his followers and the Good Samaritan is among the most familiar to most of us. Who is My Neighbor is a rendering of that story.

I enjoyed the beautiful color pencils and watercolor drawings, though I had hoped for more unconventional ones. But this book was meant for children and not adults like me. HA! Children will like the bright colors. There are not too many words on each page which is what true picture books are all about.

There are some valuable questions at the back that parents can use to discuss with their children.

Thank you Netgalley and Our Daily Bread Publishing for the ARC. This is my honest review.

I am always looking for books that simplify some of the messages of Jesus (without distorting them) to share with the kiddos in my life. This book does that extremely well, along with the benefit of beautiful illustrations. I look forward to sharing this book with many of my friends and their families.

A beautiful reminder that despite our differences, we were all created by God and all share the same kind of soul on the inside. Who Is My Neighbor is a book that should be read to every child to remind them that they are loved and to love all those around them.

I just reviewed Stories Jesus Told: Who Is My Neighbor? by Tim Ladwig. #StoriesJesusToldWhoIsMyNeighbor #NetGalley

Just love how Tim Ladwig depict the story, in a simple but poignant way. A good book to own, if you happen to be a Sunday School Teacher, or parents with young kids. The images were drawn carefully, and some questions at the end of the book will make parents and kids ponder upon God's words.

I think this book was a great way to teach children about the lord. but also about how to be kind. The illustrations were also very well done.

I loved this little book. Who is my neighbor is an illustrated retelling of the good Samaritan story in the Bible. The illustrations bring a well-known Bible story to life. When you can actually see pictures of people walking past a severely injured man, and only one stopping to help, it really hits home with the story is about. I would recommend this book for all kids and adults. It is a story of kindness and compassion versus indifference.

Thank you to Our Daily Bread Publishing and Netgalley for a free digital copy of this book. My review is voluntary.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion. This book accurately depicts the story of the Good Samaritan as well as how Jesus told us we should treat our neighbors. The illustrations and story are great and easy to understand for the ages 4-8.

2.5 I didn’t enjoy the layout of this book or the art style personally. Biblical text was spot on and did a good job though.

The parables of Jesus are stories to grasp the greater truth of the gospel. This picture book to read with your children gives you a great tool to help you and your child to grasp the gospel together. The illustrations is what gave me notice as it was different from other children's books on the Good Samaritan. It depicts the actual landscape that the story is based on which is important as it was a dangerous passage for travelers for that day. It also details the characters quite well as appearance can deceive us as something good and the hearts are far from good.

This parable is quite familiar to Christians and non Christians alike however, there is truth to be found for all. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this beautifully illustrated version of The Good Samaritan to my 4 boys. There is power in reading God’s Word aloud and I appreciated that the author used straight Scripture to share this parable. The illustrations are accurate to the time period and peoples in that land and time. I also liked the questions at the end of the book because it gave me a chance to dig deeper with my sons about how to apply Jesus’ words to our lives today. I recommend this book for 3-10 year olds.

I received this book for free from NetGalley, but my opinions are my own.

Want a children’s story book on Jesus’ parable of the “Good Samaritan?” This is one I would recommend. I’m glad I got to read this to my children!
I like that the written part of this book comes straight from the Bible itself from the Gospel of Luke. What better things for kids to hear that God’s Word directly for themselves! I appreciate this being a picture book of Scripture! The artwork is beautiful and big enough for the kids to look at and have the story sink in. Since I have read some Christian children book that have artwork too abstract and at times even weird that made me appreciate the realism of this book’s illustration.
I read this a few times to the girls. Each time the book has their undivided attention. They also ask questions about the story itself and also the illustration. I got to even talk to them about the geography portrayed in the book! That’s detailed and as a Pastor I appreciated the attention to details of even caves and hills in the area of travel between Jerusalem and Jericho.
I highly recommend this. Get it for your family or as a gift!
NOTE: This book was provided to me free by Discovery House and Net Galley without any obligation for a positive review. All opinions offered above are mine unless otherwise stated or implied.

So rewarding to be able to be re-united with the work of Tim Ludwig with his re-telling of Stories Jesus Told, bringing them to a young audience with faith and spiritual meaning.
Based on Luke’s wonderful account of this parable of The Good Samaritan’ “Who is my Neighbor? is a wonderful book full of clear and detailed illustrations supported by the words Jesus shared to teach about caring for and having practical acts to demonstrate the love of God in serving others with justice and mercy.
It is a wonderful story many have heard from a young age, through Sunday School and listening to the bible stories. Now a new generation of parents can impart this wisdom, teaching and ethical motivation to do good and be better followers of Jesus.
I like the way the story is simply presented in all its truth; nothing detracts from the original account and Tim also provides support and encouragement to adults wanting to share this book to their kids.
I am grateful to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me the chance to read an advanced copy of this new publication.
Books and stories have been a joy to me all of my life. I can think of nothing better to share with young, enquiring minds than simple truths that will promote them to think of others and do good in our world.
