ARC: Wanted! Criminals of the Animal Kingdom is a children’s book about different animals and all the bad things they do. This book is written in the form of rap sheets at a police station. Each rap sheet has the name of the animal, lifespan, where it lives, what it eats, and what “crime” it commits.

This is a very cute book and it also teaches the children about different animals. I highly recommended this book for the kids in your life. I for one will be buying a copy for quite a few kids I know!

This book is adorable and perfect for budding young zoologists. It's packed with facts and plenty of jokes to keep little ones entertained and lovely bright illustrations.

Perfect for fans of Wild Kratts.

A light, entertaining book about different animals in the form of police wanted posters/reports. A great way to introduce children to unique animals.

Thank you netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

What a clever way to teach kids about odd and unusual animals and their strange habits. Each animal has a mugshot and their aliases listed on their rap sheet as well as their “criminal activity”. I truly enjoyed reading this and seeing all of the cartoon drawings. Learning can be so fun!

This was a pretty good and distinctive, if flippant, nature book. It features a dozen critters with unusual activities or attributes, and gives us their details in the form of a police file. That way we learn the margay cat is incredibly simian, able to swing about like a monkey and sound like one at the same time; we cover the crooked system of mothering of a cuckoo; bower birds nicking anything blue for the love nest; Christmas Island red crabs that jaywalk in huge swarms over the roads, and so on. Clearly some are more criminal and nasty than others, but all get a similar rap, and it's a nice touch that the files go right on down through everything to the collective noun in each case. You won't really piece together the world's nature from these few instances of unusual behaviour, but you will have fun learning about some distinctive animal types.
