Colton Manhunt by Jane Godman is book six in the Coltons of Mustang Valley series. This series of novels written by various authors features the Colton Family of Mustang Valley, Arizona.

Spencer Colton, Sergeant and K-9 officer with the Mustang Valley Police Department, is a distant cousin to Payne Colton, patriarch of a local affluent family, though Spencer is from the less affluent branch of the Colton lineage. Katrina Perry is the owner and head trainer at the Look Who’s Walking dog-training center. Katrina has a difficult past that she’s worked hard to overcome. The two meet when Katrina reports her fraternal twin sister, Eliza, missing. Spencer is determined to help Katrina in any way he can, despite the danger she is in, especially when he realizes there is growing attraction on both sides.

Colton Manhunt is another in the string of interesting, entertaining novels produced by the authors in this series. The plot is engaging and well thought out but develops somewhat slowly. The characters are strong, likable and fully-developed. Ms. Godman does a good job of maintaining the continuity of the series. There is some explicit sexual content in the few sex scenes in this novel, but the romance is still the focus. The dogs add a little levity and cuteness to the story. Overall, I enjoyed the novel, rate it 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to readers who enjoy romantic suspense.

My thanks to HARLEQUIN – Romance (US & Canada) and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Lies and deception pave the way in the next Colton's of Mustang Valley story! With book six in the series, Jane Godman brings Spencer Colton to life as he not only continues to work on his cousins' shooting case, but also dives into helping search for a missing person.

Katrina is an interesting character. She's convinced from the start that her troubled twin sister has met with foul play even when the cards don't align to prove it. She's not willing to give up and go away if her sister is out there in trouble ... but someone has her in their sights and is determined to make her look questionable.

Spencer doesn't have time to add yet more drama to his already overflowing case load, but he has to admit that Katrina has gotten his attention.

This book was slower paced than some in the series, but it still had an enjoyable mystery. I'm liking the series as a whole and look forward to getting more answers as future books play out.

Katrina's twin sister went missing and shes on a mission to find her since no one else seems to care, shes full aware her sister knows how to find trouble. After a few bizarre occurrences she goes to K-9 Sergeant Spence Colton for help but it seems someones out there to discredit her and make it seem like shes making things up. If no one will help her she'll have to do it herself with or without Colton.

I've been following along with this and have to say if you are just coming across this that there is a few books that pair with it but this does well on its own being that there are subtle recaps that help the readers follow along. I loved each book of this series and this book is no different and a great addition to the series. I loved getting to know Katrina and Spencer's characters, I loved seeing that attraction and couldn't help but be frustrated that someone clearly was making her seem like she was making things up for attention. I loved seeing them work together and piece things more and more as the story progressed. Overall it was a great mystery suspense novel I really enjoyed it.

Out of all the Colton Series I have read I liked this one the best. The characters made seem to connect better. The author used the locations as Characters in the story bring the world to life while other author fell flat at the attempt. The characters were able to connect though sharing stories, life events as well as finding the truth.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of The Colton Series.

4.5 Stars

This is the sixth book in the Harlequin Intrigue Colton’s of Mustang Valley series by Jane Godman.

In the beginning, I wasn’t sure if this whole relationship would work out. Spencer didn’t want kids and he just broke up with his girlfriend who wanted to start a family with him. Then in walks Katrina and her cute kiddo, Evie. Katrina is looking for her missing twin and her investigation gets her closer and closer to unmasking a killer.

Spencer gets sucked into the action but underneath it all he is just drawn to Katrina in a way he has never experienced before. And knowing she has a kid doesn’t affect him like he thought it would. But he still has trouble trusting and opening up.

For as short as this book is, there was sure a lot of going back and forth with motivations and trust from both of their perspectives. I was unsure whether they would ever find a common ground and find that underlying peace they were looking for.

I like how all the authors writing for this series consistently keep all the background set pieces so similar so we know for sure this is a Colton series in the Mustang Valley area. And that little cult/church group is just creepy as all get out.

I loved how the two of them finally opened up and allowed themselves to fall for each other and how their love for animals helped them to connect. Great book!

Love this Colton series. It is one of my guilty pleasure reads, for sure!

If you love a good romantic suspense, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
