This Fighters series boxed set contains the 4 books of the series: Below the Belt, Full Contact, Bare Knuckled and On the Ropes is a nice set if you like love and erotic themed plots than it's a great series. I really liked the writing style and even if the romance in this book has there stereotype alpha male whos after an inocent woman it's not boring or anything like that. Instead it makes fun to read the story's one after another. I liked that p the storys was linked to each other. And the conclusion of the end of the fourth book makes sense and brings all of the characters together.

I read the first book and then skimmed the second just to see if the style of writing was the same. I wanted to read these books because I loved Sarah Castille’s AGAINST THE ROPES books and the description reminded me of them. The first two books of The Fighters held no emotion and were so unrealistically paced they are how I would imagine a summary of a bad porno would read. They were an outline with no depth between plot points. I won’t be reading the remaining books in the box set.

These books are just not for me. They have some plot, main characters, a lot of hot scenes, but lack the depth of a romance novel, or any depth at all. I expected it to be a sport romance, which I actually like, but it is not it either. Over the edge possessive males with average heroines.

The Fighters series boxed set is perfect if you love heightened suspend-disbelief plotlines, over-the-top alpha heroes (with a slant towards being “Daddies”), and the innocent virgin trope. I personally do not care for any of the aforementioned, which is why I didn’t care for this set of stories. Monica Rush is a capable writer and has come up with some varied stories; however, I prefer works that modernize the romance genre rather than uphold what I perceive to be outdated tropes that contain stereotypical gender roles.

I liked that each story was linked to each other, and there is a satisfying conclusion at the end of the fourth story that kind of brings all of the characters together. I am sure there is an audience out there who will appreciate and enjoy these stories, they just weren’t my cup of tea.
