WOW this was a psychological thriller that was so interesting, it had me googling personality disorders! I knew in my gut something was off but was a little surprised that I did not figure it out correctly. If you are looking for a clean read, with no sex, a little cursing, and a whole lot of twists and turns--you have to grab this one up!

It was just an average thriller. It was slow in some parts, but interesting in others. I did not like the main character, Brienne. She was very irritating. I feel that if the reader did not know the twist so early on that it might have been a better story overall. Just average for me.

Minka Kent delivers another easy, enjoyable read though at time predictable. Slow build with some fast areas, overall a good read.

This book is so good! I got pulled into the story right away. About a third of the way into the book I hit a point where I did not want to put the book down. I would have spent the rest of the day reading if I hadn't had to go to work! The story remained engaged and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. I really enjoy this author and highly recommend this book!

When I was You by Minka Kent

Brienne Dougray is dealing with recovering from an attack she is stuck in her house for fear of being attacked again. She shut down her insurance business and stays in the home she inherited from her grandparents. They left her a nice inheritance. Her friends suggested to her after the attack to find a roommate so she is not alone. In comes Niall Emberlin a doctor at the local hospital is looking for a place to rent after his separation from his spouse.

Things seem normal at first as the story goes along until Brienne finds out someone else is taken her identity and pretending to be her in all ways. The story then goes into some twists and turns where she finds out she isn't who she thinks she is or is she Brienne? Nothing is right and she needs to figure out what is going on before she loses everything. Will she figure it out or will everyone think she is crazy?

There was so much happening in this book and crazy comes to mind most of the things that happen. It is a decent entertaining thriller and if you are fan of thrillers this one will be a good one to read.

I love a book with short chapters! Part 1 of this book was a bit slow, but once I hit part 2 the book went by fast. While I thought it was pretty predictable, I had to know what happened. I didn't really love the characters, but I thought the writer did a great job at really putting you in the story.

Predictable light thriller that you should be able to figure out in the very beginning. For me the beginning dragged on and was repetitive. You meet Brienne who was attacked which causes her to not leave her house. This is a quick read but not what I thought it would be.

Post an assault, Brienne Dougray barely leaves her house. While she has a beautiful home left by her grandparents and everything she needs, she just can't seem to go back to her life as it used to be. A gentle doctor comes along to rent her space and Dr.Niall is everything she can hope for in a good man.
But one day, she realizes that someone has been living as her. The same hair, clothes and the same name. Brienne is out to get her identity back but what she encounters is something she did not anticipate.
The book is interesting though it felt a bit predictable to me. It was interesting to read the varied twists and turns and I was curious to see how it would all come together. While I predicted a major reveal, there was a lot more that this book had in store for me. Initially it took me a while to pick up the pace but then I couldn't put it down till it was done. A good read, this one

When I Was You

Wow, what a wild thrilling read! Who would have known a book about stolen identity would hold me captivated?

Brienne Dougray was a strong lady even though in the beginning of the story she was basically a shut in from something that traumatized her.

I literally could not put this one down!

She doesn't have much contact with the outside world, other than her lodger.

But she receives a key which mystifies her. So she begins a hunt first online then braving the real world offline, and discovers some shocking secrets.

I don't want to say too much since it's worth the read, and worth going into the story knowing little to nothing.

So this book was compelling and enthralling.

I would recommend it to readers who want fast paced, page turning, books that make one want to keep reading to see how it all ends up.

Good psychological suspense story.

This book was absolute roller-coaster of a ride. The ups and downs and twists and turns had me so enthralled. Stolen identity is a hard thing to pull off in my opinion, but wow did this author pull it off.

Brienne and Niall's relationship was very interesting. I liked how he was brought into the story. Since she was was such an unreliable narrator because of her injuries, I loved reading about her.

Overall this was a great thriller, that was very unique. The storyline itself was awesome yet a bit far fetched at times.. I'm going to definitely be reading more from this author!

This is a nicely twisty novel about two women and social media (among other things). It certainly kept me guessing !

Bestselling author Minka Kent returns with yet another wonderful thriller to entice and engage. Told through the alternating points of view of Brienne and Niall the book follows Brienne's recovery from a brutal attack a nd her now confining agoraphobia. She attempts to feel safer by taking on Niall, as a housemate however nothing is ever quite as it seems.

Wow! That’s what I first thought when I finished this book by the amazing Minka Kent. When I Was You had so many twists- I thought I had it figured out multiple times only to be proven wrong. This book really makes you question what’s real in your life & what isn’t.

Solid Psychological suspense, and everyone’s nightmare.

Minka Kent writes books that I cannot put down, and I’ve enjoyed every one that I’ve read.

No blurb or plot spoilers from me, and as always with these types of books, it starts off innocuously enough, and I was trying to pick which bits of the story were pertinent information to remember. The thing with thrillers is that there is always a twist and a connection between party’s that are seemingly unrelated.

Good solid read at 4 stars.
