very good story. "I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed." Even though it was a short part of the story, I loved it, the way the Gods went to war at each other was perfect, but I can't wait to see the real story as well, great job.

I've tried picking up this book multiple times but it just isn't for me. The book has a decent concept though and would be perfect for those who prefer no steam.

Unfortunately, this one was not for me. The writing style was nice but the story just didn't grab me. I ended up setting this one down and I never picked it back up again.

How to revive a dead God.
I found it easy to get sucked into this alternative world, it’s described that well. This is NOT your typical good versus evil, despite fooling you into thinking that, often. Every time you think things are finally going to work out well, no, yet another plot twist and devastating failure. It’s easy to immerse yourself in this land of eight (ish) Gods, with its many and complex rules regarding race/creed/colour and the power and political wrangling of the guild and the church. Not a story for the faint hearted, I totally gave up counting the death toll! A lot of thought has gone into this, the descriptions of even the most mundane things make them come alive, and I’d love to see some of the architecture! Towards the end, I couldn’t read fast enough, the action is building to such a climax, you HAVE to know what’s going to happen. There’s also a cliffhanger after the book has finished, and you don’t know if it’s good or bad, hopefully book 2 will explain.

this was a great start to a series, I liked that the blood gods felt like a danger. It was a great time to read and I hope there is more from the author.

This is the first book I have read from this author. The book was well written but found it a bit slow to start. It had a nice elements mixed in there with some dark elements which I loved. Will be keeping an eye on this author to see where it goes

This novel checked a lot of boxes for me as a fantasy read. Nasty villains, some dark elements, unlikely heroes, a compelling setting and backstory. Some well-drawn and nuanced characters as well, who stumble at times when confronted with the need to take courageous steps to confront a spreading evil power, and also to confront their own past misdeeds and failures. Took a bit of time to develop, and some of the plot turns were expected, but I really enjoyed how the mythos of the world unfolded, and the ancient line of blacksmiths who held the key to setting things right. There were several pivotal scenes in the novel that were particularly well written, and I read them over again to relish those moments. It's clear that the author is invested in the characters and the backstory, as the climactic scenes are very satisfying. There are some quirky characters as well, and some who we are not sure if they will be heroes or cowards in the end. All in all a good read.

Received ARC from Books Go Social and Netgalley for honest read and review.
Had this on my TBR List for a while and finally got round to picking it up when Joshua gave me a nudge in the right direction.

This was such a good book that had me hooked from the beginning.Centering around Will and Duncan ,this story takes us on a whirlwind ride of emotions.

Really excellent character building and a great story. Will William save Duncan and raise a God?

I am so glad I managed to get a hold of this one.

This novel by new author Josh Cook starts out running and from the first pages you get a sense of how good this will be. I don’t want to give away any spoilers so it’s going to be hard to write a review.

This is a story of sacrifice and love, a story of ancient gods, one evil, one good, that fell long ago in battle and the attempt of those who want to return the evil god to the world to subject mankind to untold pain, misery and torment.

Duncan and William Reis are two cousins, the last of the line of Reis living in the Reach where their family has always lived. The reach is known for three things, the ore that they mine, the skill of the miners and that no one from the Reach has ever been chosen to go to Ture and join the guild, It was the dream of William’s father and he was not chosen and since his death it has become William’s. While his Duncan doesn’t want him to leave and doesn’t want him to try because he doesn’t want him to be hurt and disappointed he does help him by giving him ingots of Wight Iron which is very rare and valuable, he found the ingots while out scaving, which is like treasure hunting and scavenging.

When Willis goes to ask the priest to bless his work after it’s made, he’s hurt that Haltim tries to discourage him; this man has been like a father to him since his own father disappeared years ago. Haltim is priest that serves the Eight Gods but he was sent to an old church that once served only Amder, the god of creation to keep an eye on the Reis family and to keep the High Priest informed of what they are doing,

William has built a forge in a place that he found that is away from the Reach, he doesn’t want to hear people say that he’s wasting his time, that he’ll never be chosen because of where he’s from. Duncan reluctantly agrees to help him and while there becomes certain that there is a treasure in the upper part of the area which he is certain holds a tomb. Knowing that William will not approve of what is basically grave robbing he plans to return and explore the area for treasures that he imagines will bring him untold wealth.

Will William realize his dream to join the guild and become a master? Will Duncan find his treasure? Will the followers of Valnijz succeed in their attempt to bring him back to life and will any of the other gods try stop this from happening? Find out for yourself in this exciting novel. I cant wait to read the next book in this series.

In an effort to be totally honest, I’ve disclosed that I received and ARC, however, I did purchase the book.

**4.25/5 STARS I received a free digital ARC through Netgalley in exchange for a honest, unbiased review. I sincerely thank Netgalley, author and/or publisher for giving me this opportunity.**

The book was well written, however, I thought it was a little slow, but it did have a lot of action and detail n it. The author did a fantastic job though! I would recommend this book!

This book is the first one that I have read from this author. For everyone who loves fantasy it's a great book, with a nice taste of horror, some dark elements. In this book you'll meet Will Reis who is running way from a dangerous monster that was once human. Will ia a great character, very well described. But in the story you will be also introduced to a variety of different characters. I love how the relationships in the story are twisted. Piece by piece this story puts itself together and you see the whole story. This have everything that a nice book should have great characters, a fascinating story, horror, fantasy, and cool monsters.
