This was a dnf for me. I tired real hard while on vacation. I could see where the story was headed and decided it wasn't my cup of tea. I've read this author before and enjoyed that book. I give her new book a try also.

This was a DNF (Did Not Finish). I did not review it on my website. I tried not to rate it since I got far enough in to know it wasn't for me, but Netgalley won't allow a no star rating.
I did put DNF on my Goodreads shelf, but I did not rate it over there either.

This was a quick read and years later I am honestly not sure what I think about it. The relationship was a bit creepy, to be honest, but I understood why it happened.

On the Island was book which I'd been hearing some hype about for some time and I have to admit I was curious to see what the fuss was about. You could say I was hooked, I ended up reading the book in one day (it's been ages since I've last done this) I wanted, no needed to know what would happen to Anna and T.J. on this island, would they ever get rescued? To be honest if I was in their situation I wouldn't have survived as long as they did, yeah, my body would have gone into survival mode, but with everything that was against them and they had to deal with, I applaud their resilience and bravery. There was also that constant fear at the back of my mind with T.J., he needed his routine check up's, even though his cancer had gone, it didn't mean that it couldn't come back. Graves did a great job of giving us the story in On the island and a great perspective of the time and hardships that Anna and T.J. had to deal with. I was thoroughly shocked with how much time that they both ended up spending on the island, there was me thinking help would be over in no time and that they could go back to their own lives. The way the days rolled around seemed really fast to me because of the way we were given the story, and I greatly appreciated this, as I know the days must have passed by really slowly for both Anna and T.J. but by skipping ahead to major holidays and what they were doing on those days, gave us a better perspective of how rapidly time seemed to have passed with no rescue and hopes for this rescue actually coming dwindling the longer they remained here. I also had an inkling about how things would go down with Anna and T.J. too, at first I did have some reservations about the age gap, also when they ended up on the island T.J. was just a kid in my eyes and I could see how other people would take it especially with the job that Anna had back home as a teacher. But as the days turned to months, I could see how they would both turn to each other for solace. But how would things work for them even if they made it back home? was this just a thing for them whilst they were on the island? On the Island was a book you could say which took me by surprise, it offered me that escape that I needed from my own crazy little day to getting lost on an island and hoping against hope that our two main characters would survive.
