Alex and Ruth are estranged sisters who meet up again when Ruth shows up on Alex’s doorstep pregnant. Soon, their very complicated past catches up with both of them and dark secrets are exposed.

I loved and flew threw the first 75% of this. The Rocky Mountain setting, the scenario and the multiple povs all worked well in creating suspense and intrigue. After that, everything quickly went downhill for me. The characters’ actions became completely implausible, showing no depth or realness, but completely succumbing to black or white thinking. I really did not care for the book after that and was relieved to be finished. 2.5 disappointing stars rounded up to 3.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Crooked Lane Books and Roz Nay for my complimentary e-copy ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I received this book as an ARC and was instantly captured in the authors writing. What an amazing page turner of lies, deceit, and eventually good wins. But....which sister is good? You will literally find out in the last several pages!!!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview this ARC of Hurry Home by Roz Nay.

Alex and Chase have a wonderful life together. Chase is a handsome athlete, and Alex works in child protection. Because of Chase's hefty paychecks, they're able to live in a beautiful loft in the mountains.

Right in the midst of a stressful child protection case, Alex's long lost and wayward sister Ruth makes an unwelcome appearance to Alex's home. Right as she's about to turn her away, she learns that Ruth is pregnant. But when Alex last knew Ruth, she knew that she was not ready to be a mother. Ruth had volatile relationships with drugs and drug dealers and has struggled most of her adult life. Fearing for the baby, Alex reluctantly takes her in. But is this the best for for Alex, Chase, or Ruth?

This did not turn out the way I expected and I love that! The characters are mysterious and the story line slowly unfolds chapter by chapter in different directions. Very readable, lots of fun.

Interesting book with unreliable narrators and lots of family drama and secrets. This was a quick, entertaining read!!!!

This book seemed a bit slow at the beginning and I found it lacked originality. As an avid reader of thrillers and mysteries, I was not surprised by any of the twists.

Hurry Home is a great book that slowly unfolds before readers eyes. I went into this book with zero expectations as I haven't read the authors novels before and wasn't sure if it would be another "run of the mill thriller." Thankfully, it wasn't. This book had the twists and turns I needed and some interesting characters that made the book as intriguing as it was. I flew through this book and was truly excited to get to the end. I wasn't disappointed!

This is a very gripping story of two sisters, one a Child Services social worker and the other a recovering addict who is pregnant and fleeing domestic abuse. The sisters have a troubled past and one is trying to make amends. This book has some unexpected twists and turns and is a great read! I highly recommend it.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This book is a psychological thriller..
It's about Alex who's living her perfect life with her perfect boyfriend Chase in her perfect house. Until one fine day her sister Ruth shows up and Alex's life goes haywire from there on. They've been estranged from each other for over ten years for reasons that should stay buried in the past. But then everything starts falling apart and the past doesn't stay hidden anymore.
I loved this book. Every chapter of this book was like an unexpected blow that came out of nowhere. Every page was gripping and my attention didn't falter for once. This book had me hooked throughout.

I wasn't a fan of Roz Nay's first book (despite the hype) but I figured she was worth another shot. Sadly, I don't think it was worth it. It took me a good while to get into this book, and once I did, it was hard to figure out exactly what it was trying to be. The "mystery" was easily solved, and actually took too long to wrap up. This one just didn't work for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book for my honest review.

This book wasn’t as good as I was hoping it would be. It had a great concept and plot with a good character development but it wasn’t that engaging to me. The book was just ok to me. I see I am in the minority with this one as so many gave it 4-5 stars but it’s just not the book for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book for my honest review

I enjoyed this novel. **SPOILER ALERT** I caught on to the unreliable narrator fairly quickly but still really enjoyed the writing and the evolution of the situation. I do find the title odd; not sure it is a good representation of the theme, but I would recommend this book.

Alex works for child protective services and live with her super hot boyfriend, Chase. One day her sister, Ruth, shows up on her doorstep. She hasn’t seen her sister in over 10 years. Ruth is pregnant and needs help, so Alex lets her live with her and Chase so she can get on her feet. However, Alex begins to think that Ruth’s baby might be in trouble.
This one was so freaking good. I loved it so much and almost finished an entire pack of cookies while stress eating. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Being a sister myself, I know that sister relationships can at times be a complicated one and at worse - dramatic. But this novel takes it to a whole new level! This fabulously written mystery/thriller contenting on two sisters has you returning to the past to better understand what had truly happened to them to crate the adults they both are at the present time. This was a wonderfully written book highlighting the she said/she said between two sisters that even had me second guessing which sister I believed until close to the very end. I truly lived it. Excellent read!

I struggled with this book, and realized from reading the reviews that I had a much different experience than many of my peers. The story centers around sisters Alex and Ruth, who had been estranged for 10 years but meet again when Ruth shows up on Alex's doorstep. It alternates between the POV of these 2 characters.

This is more of a domestic thriller than a psychological thriller, but does a good job within the unreliable narration theme. My issue is that I had a visceral dislike of Alex from almost the very first page of the book. The way the book is structured, the reader cannot decide if Alex or Ruth is the one telling the truth, so I realized that the author did not intend for me to immediately dislike one of the characters. I was unable to let go of this feeling for the rest of the book and found myself rooting against Alex from the get-go.

That being said, I did appreciate the twists and turns and the slow unfolding of the incidents from the sisters' childhood that shaped their relationship with each other and the decisions they make. It was an interesting (and fast) read, but didn't resonate with me overall due to the immediate dislike of a primary character.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, that was an emotionally charged suspense! I kept going back and forth on which person I was most rooting for. I liked the pace and the alternating narrative between the two sisters. I also thought this did a good job of presenting how complex a troubled relationship between sisters can be.

This book is an awesome thrill ride and it has so many twists and turns in it, that it will keep you guessing till the end. I highly recommend the book to any Jodi Picoult fan and more than likely, it will raise your blood pressure level at times. But oh so worth it.

Hurry Home is a fact faced, easy read, until the tables turn, and it becomes a hectic, desperate revenge story between two sisters and the bond of lies, love and family. Told from alternating POV chapters, Alex and Ruth meet up again in trying circumstances after being estranged for many years. Appearances deceive and we begin to find out some past secrets and our own loyalties jump from one sister to the other and we clearly understand that the lives we life can be so deftly influenced by our pasts. Really good domestic thriller and highly recommended.

Wow! You think you know someone! The author does such a great job with the two sisters that you truly think you have them figured out and then the rug is pulled out from under you! Amazing writing that kept me intrigued and longing for more! Noticed a few (maybe 5) issues with editing (spelling/words together) in the last hundred or so pages but I know that'll be worked out before printing. Really great book... I look forward to reading more by this author!!

I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley, the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review. I was totally invested in this story. Soon as I was rooting for one character boom, things change an I’m caught up in the web of lies and deceit of another character. This story was amazing and very well written. I’m ready to read more from this author!! Highly recommend

Well, I got suckered again. I am not sure how many times I buy right into whatever the first person speaking spins, being less than skeptical, which I ought to be.

Alex is leading a charmed life, it seems. Important job, awesome boyfriend, great place to live and nice .clothes, no doubt. When it all looks good, except for a PIA work partner, a long lost troubled sister shows up, in trouble.

She has little choice but to take her in and things start to fall apart. Perceptions shift, loyalties are tested and secrets are revealed.

Discussing how my reactions to the characters would be too revealing, all I can say is pay attention.

Well written, with alternating perspectives from the 2 sisters, it moves well.
The stuff about the tragic children was really sad.
