Alex works for child protective services and live with her super hot boyfriend, Chase. One day her sister, Ruth, shows up on her doorstep. She hasn’t seen her sister in over 10 years. Ruth is pregnant and needs help, so Alex lets her live with her and Chase so she can get on her feet. However, Alex begins to think that Ruth’s baby might be in trouble.
This one was so freaking good. I loved it so much and almost finished an entire pack of cookies while stress eating. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Being a sister myself, I know that sister relationships can at times be a complicated one and at worse - dramatic. But this novel takes it to a whole new level! This fabulously written mystery/thriller contenting on two sisters has you returning to the past to better understand what had truly happened to them to crate the adults they both are at the present time. This was a wonderfully written book highlighting the she said/she said between two sisters that even had me second guessing which sister I believed until close to the very end. I truly lived it. Excellent read!

I struggled with this book, and realized from reading the reviews that I had a much different experience than many of my peers. The story centers around sisters Alex and Ruth, who had been estranged for 10 years but meet again when Ruth shows up on Alex's doorstep. It alternates between the POV of these 2 characters.

This is more of a domestic thriller than a psychological thriller, but does a good job within the unreliable narration theme. My issue is that I had a visceral dislike of Alex from almost the very first page of the book. The way the book is structured, the reader cannot decide if Alex or Ruth is the one telling the truth, so I realized that the author did not intend for me to immediately dislike one of the characters. I was unable to let go of this feeling for the rest of the book and found myself rooting against Alex from the get-go.

That being said, I did appreciate the twists and turns and the slow unfolding of the incidents from the sisters' childhood that shaped their relationship with each other and the decisions they make. It was an interesting (and fast) read, but didn't resonate with me overall due to the immediate dislike of a primary character.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, that was an emotionally charged suspense! I kept going back and forth on which person I was most rooting for. I liked the pace and the alternating narrative between the two sisters. I also thought this did a good job of presenting how complex a troubled relationship between sisters can be.

This book is an awesome thrill ride and it has so many twists and turns in it, that it will keep you guessing till the end. I highly recommend the book to any Jodi Picoult fan and more than likely, it will raise your blood pressure level at times. But oh so worth it.

Hurry Home is a fact faced, easy read, until the tables turn, and it becomes a hectic, desperate revenge story between two sisters and the bond of lies, love and family. Told from alternating POV chapters, Alex and Ruth meet up again in trying circumstances after being estranged for many years. Appearances deceive and we begin to find out some past secrets and our own loyalties jump from one sister to the other and we clearly understand that the lives we life can be so deftly influenced by our pasts. Really good domestic thriller and highly recommended.

Wow! You think you know someone! The author does such a great job with the two sisters that you truly think you have them figured out and then the rug is pulled out from under you! Amazing writing that kept me intrigued and longing for more! Noticed a few (maybe 5) issues with editing (spelling/words together) in the last hundred or so pages but I know that'll be worked out before printing. Really great book... I look forward to reading more by this author!!

I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley, the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review. I was totally invested in this story. Soon as I was rooting for one character boom, things change an I’m caught up in the web of lies and deceit of another character. This story was amazing and very well written. I’m ready to read more from this author!! Highly recommend

Well, I got suckered again. I am not sure how many times I buy right into whatever the first person speaking spins, being less than skeptical, which I ought to be.

Alex is leading a charmed life, it seems. Important job, awesome boyfriend, great place to live and nice .clothes, no doubt. When it all looks good, except for a PIA work partner, a long lost troubled sister shows up, in trouble.

She has little choice but to take her in and things start to fall apart. Perceptions shift, loyalties are tested and secrets are revealed.

Discussing how my reactions to the characters would be too revealing, all I can say is pay attention.

Well written, with alternating perspectives from the 2 sisters, it moves well.
The stuff about the tragic children was really sad.

Alexandra Van Ness has a perfect life. She lives in an idyllic resort town tucked away in the Rocky Mountains, shares a designer loft with her handsome boyfriend, Chase, and has her dream job working in child protection. Every day, Alex goes above and beyond to save children at risk.

But when her long-lost sister, Ruth, unexpectedly shows up at her door, Alex's perfect life is upended. Growing up, Ruth was always the troublemaker, pulling Alex into her messes, and this time will be no different. Still, Alex will help Ruth under one condition: we will never, ever, talk about the past. But when a local child goes missing, both women are forced to confront the secrets they've promised to keep buried.

WOW. What a great read. This was one hell of a good read. I look forward to reading more by Roz Nay. I was shocked even in the end. Bravo!!
Thanks, NetGalley for the advance copy to review.

About 3/4 of the way into this book I wanted to lock myself in my room and finish. This is when this twisty story took a big turn. This is a suspense about 2 sisters, Ruth and Alex, that share secrets long buried from their past. They haven’t seen each other in 10 years until Ruth shows up at Alex’s home. The longer Ruth stays the more the past starts to trickle into the present. Even then things still aren’t what they seem. This is a story about sisters, family, relationships, love, and protecting those you care for. The question is how far would you go to protect your loved ones? A great read, be prepared for a roller-coaster of emotion.

This is your new beach read. It is twisty and suspenseful and asks the questions how far would you go for your sister? Alexandra has the perfect life until one day her sister Ruth shows back up on her doorstep. Alexandra welcomes her in with the condition that they never talk about their past and for awhile this seems like it may work until a local child goes missing. Both sisters must confront each other and what they know to be true. Can they deal with what they find out and how will this end? It is a family domestic suspense thriller that will leave you engrossed until you turn the final page.

I’m so sad my second Roz Nay novel is over. I WANT MORE!

She has done it again, folks. Holy cow. What a thrill ride. I was fully engrossed from the beginning.

The characters are so REAL. So real. I didn’t even feel like I was reading a novel at all. I honestly was so into it that I had to stop and tell myself it wasn’t real. When certain things happened that I can say here I was in tears. And other times flabbergasted, and other times cheering.

What a plot too. Are there twists? You bet there are! God damn, one of my favorite twists ever in a book. And I didn’t see it coming, I really didn’t! It was so seamless and so well pulled off that I was shocked.

I wish I could go into details, but I want you to experience it all for yourself!

Get lost in this amazing thriller. Should I call it a domestic thriller? I’m not good with labels, but I’d say it is.

And once more for the people in the cheap seats — I WANT MORE! 😫 I don’t want it to be over. Genuinely.

Five massive stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ genius level writing, in my humble opinion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Crooked Lane books and Roz Nay for making this available to download and read. Go get it!

I just couldn’t stop reading this! The drama the characters! I thought I had it figured out but omg was I wrong! This book was fantastic! Loved the depth of the characters and one minute I loved Ruth the next I loved Alexis. Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced ebook copy of this that isn’t out until July of 202 but add this to your TBR pile for sure!

I really liked Our Little Secret, so I was very excited to read Hurry Home.

The story is very fast-paced and the relationship between the sisters seems very real, however, I found the twists predictable and I wanted more backstory on their growing up on the farm.

If you like stories with sisterly drama and revenge you'll like Hurry Home, but don't expect too much originality.

I was soooo delighted to see another book by Roz Nay coming out. I absolutely loved, Our Little Secrets and Hurry Home did not disappoint. When I read the synopsis of Hurry Home, I literally squealed with joy...Nay, you wrote a book about my career....ahhhh, I am so excited! I could relate to so much of this book, although there was something I kept getting stuck on because it didn’t make actual sense in the realm of CPS land sooo I kept telling myself, perhaps that’s what they do in the state of Colorado and....it’s a book Christine, enjoy! I feel like for most other readers they wouldn’t question it or wonder if creative justices were at play. I would highly recommend. Fun and fast read!

What a wonderful book this was. I had to finish it in one sitting, otherwise I knew I wouldn't be able to fall asleep, and the ending was just as good as the rest of the book was. A fantastic story, and I am going online now to see if this author has written others. Don't miss this one. You'll love it!

Thanks to NetGally for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This was the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won't be the last. This book chronicles story of two sisters, Alex and Ruth who grew up with an unspeakable family tragedy that defines them forever. Each chapter switches from the perspective of each sister, leaving the reader wondering who is telling the truth and what motivates their actions. Although the end became slightly predictable, I was left wondering if the tragedy actually defined the characters or did the character define the tragedy?
