Leah and Hawk in this book went from zero to 60 in record time. Whew their heat for each other started right from the beginning.

This book had equal parts steamy romance and suspense. A definite book I would recommend.

Her dialogues are great, the pacing never lulls, and she combines thriller and romance in a way that you never feel like one was sacrificed for the other, there is a lot of suspense and I normally find out The Who what and why rather quickly but this one wasn’t as easy

This was a decent read. It was light and quick to read. The characters were likable and the overall plot was good. I recommend.

This is a tricky one with so many twists and turns you do even see the villain until the end! I love a good suspense, and this is a very good one. You are sucked in from the first chapter and finally get some breathing room with the last.

I'm a huge fan of Rachel Grant and I have read all of her books to date so I was delighted to receive and ARC of Winter Hawk.

Winter Hawk is an absolute edge of your seat read I loved the storyline and the characters and the chemistry between Nate and Leah and I just couldn't put it down!

I normally really like Rachel Grant's books and it's not that I didn't like this one, it just moved along slowly and I didn't have much of a burning desire to pick up my book and keep reading. The characters were a bit flat, and the plot so-so. This won't stop me from reading more books by this author; this one just wasn't for me.

This is a Novell from prolific author Rachel Grant. Honestly, how can she write so fast and with such great research? She’s amazing!

This is a novella in time for Christmas. The action is traditional Rachel Grant-style non-stop action, and very enjoyable. For those who want a holiday story with bite, this is the one.

Wow, just wow! I was blown away by the way Rachel Grant was able to pack so much into a 200 page novella. A true Romantic-Suspense book with a Christmas theme is a rarity. I looked high and low for some this past Christmas season and came up pretty much empty. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to receive this book as an ARC. It definitely fits a niche that a lot of Romantic-Suspense authors have ignored. Although the romance was insta-lust, the plot was scary realistic. Rachel Grant continues to be one of my top favorite authors. I only wish she could write them as fast as I can read them.

This is the first Christmas that Raptor operative Nate Sifuentes has spent near family in eight years. Nate has finally been transferred to the DC area from the Raptor training facility in Alaska. His career has been on the slow track as one of the few still employed by Raptor who was hired by the previous owner. He gets why, he just doesn't like it and is ready to make his displeasure known. When his brother, owner of a car service, calls him needing a big favor, Nate can't say no. Pick up a fired employee from the Naval Ship Yard and take them home. Simple, two hours max.

As soon as computer programmer Leah Ellis sees the MP's heading her way the Sunday before Christmas she knows something is terribly wrong. They confiscate everything and escort her out of the building and off the premises. At the gate she is met by the hottest man she has ever seen and has no clue what to do. She has no money, no phone, no car, and no home. Just where is she supposed to go? Wondering if she is being kidnapped for her military drone technical knowledge, she decides to take a leap of faith and trust this mysterious stranger.

Nate has no idea why Leah was fired, he only knows that she is alone and in need of a friend. When he discovers someone tailing them, he decides she needs his protection too. Keeping her alive and finding out just what is happening turn this two hour gig into much more.

WINTER HAWK is the ninth book in the Evidence series and is a fast paced holiday novella. This is the first book I have read in the series and I enjoyed it and would like to go back and read the other books in this series.

I liked the two main characters, Nate and Leah and this action packed suspenseful story, kept me riveted and quickly turning pages to find out what happens next. Nate is a former Green Beret and now works in private security. He is protective by nature and will not allow anything bad to happen to Leah. Along with all the action, there is also a romance developing between Leah and Nate when they find themselves immediately drawn to each other. Don’t miss this entertaining story, it will put you in the holiday mood.

This was a short read, and my first book by Rachel Grant, and I enjoyed it! I love a quick, sweet suspenseful romance, and this ticked all the boxes for me!

She lost her job, her home, had nothing but this guy who was hired to take her to a hotel! This was super suspenseful and I liked it. Realistic?? No but still fun. 3.5 stars. I would read more by this author.

Winter Hawk was a short and sweet, but no less exciting or steamy, holiday novella!

Set in the Evidence series, it can be read as a standalone. I really enjoy everything that I've read of Rachel Grant and I've actually been saving this series, so I'm proof the Novella can be read on it's own!

The story follows Nate (Hawk), who does his brother a favor and agrees to pick up Leah after she's been fired from her government contract work. Everything is incredibly fast paced, including their lust and love! The twists and turns of the plot keep the reader engaged, and I always appreciate just how smart and capable all of Rachel's female characters are! I also appreciated that these characters were "non-traditional", in the sense that they were older and more mature. I also really loved that it wasn't simply a Christmas novella, but really made a point to educate and shine light on Hanukah.

All around quick, sweet, and suspenseful holiday romance! Makes me excited to go and read the rest of the series!

Ohhhh loved Hawk and Leigh’s story. Leigh is the coder for drone that is coming out at Christmas. It’s a special drone with a special code. Leigh is fired after coding is complete. Hawk enters to escort her home, when someone tries to kill her. Can Hawk keep her alive long enough to help her figure out what’s going on? Love this author!

The first few chapters of the book were very engrossing and the plot moved along at a good pace. Then it sort of fizzled out and seemed to drag.

Winter Hawk (Evidence 9) is a holiday novella in the Evidence series. Nate is a former green beret who works for the private security company, Raptor, and also occasionally drives wealthy and powerful clients for his brother when no other drivers are available. Nate picks up Leah Ellis who has suddenly been fired from her job a a government military manufacturer for reasons she does not understand. Nate is happy to drive her wherever she wants to go but on the way there are several attempts on her life. Nate vows to protect her and keep her safe while they find out what is going on.
Good story with lots of action for a novella and the romance between Nate and Leah heats up quickly. Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for an ARC.

Rachel Grant's Winter Hawk is a well-written and suspenseful romance. Good characters and dialogue make it so good.

There are so many great things I’ve written about Rachel Grant and her romantic suspense’s over the years that I feel like a broken record at times. Exciting paces, robust characters, compelling plots … all of those elements are present in her latest holiday novella, WINTER HAWK. Once again, I love the setup: Leah Ellis is the head coder for her military contracting firm, working on drones that have crossed over to the consumer marketplace. When she’s abruptly fired and walked out the door, she meets Nate Sifuentes, the driver hired by her firm to take her wherever she wants to go. Nate’s an operative with Raptor, a military contractor present in her Evidence series (and also my favorite Grant book, Incriminating Evidence), so you know the shit is about to hit the fan. It’s soon evident that Leah is being set up, and bad forces are interested in her work and snuffing her out. The bitch of it is that it all happens on the first night of Hanukah, on the first year of her mother’s passing. Morale is low to begin with, but Nate makes sure to get a menorah for Leah while they’re grabbing items on the go, and they in turn celebrate Christmas for him. I like this holiday story because the story would’ve happened with or without ‘holiday,’ so it wound up being a nice addition.

Good addition to the series . The suspense was good but not sure about the insta love. It was good to meet some of the people from the previous books.
